To unlock and use Izuku Midoriya in My Hero Ultra Rumble, first identify which version you want. The original launch Midoriya, the Full Bullet Quirk Skill Set, and the separate Izuku Midoriya OFA character use different acquisition routes and have different moves. Check the live in-game Roll, Shop, Hero License, and ticket menus before spending resources: banners and eligibility rotate by season.
There are three Midoriya options, not one
Bandai Namco treats Midoriya OFA as a separate character from the original Midoriya. Full Bullet is not a second copy of the character; it is a Quirk Skill Set that changes the original Midoriya’s three Quirk Skills. Confusing these options is the main reason an apparently correct unlock instruction can fail.

Owning the original character does not automatically give you Midoriya OFA, and obtaining Full Bullet does not unlock OFA. Treat each as a separate entry when you inspect the game menus.
Check the current unlock route before you spend tickets
Roll schedules and ticket pools are time-limited. The available evidence records a Midoriya OFA Roll ending on September 30, 2026, while the same listing showed another OFA Battle Style scheduled for October 14, 2026. Those are dated snapshots, not a permanent schedule. On October 17, 2026, and on any later date, open the live game and verify what is actually available.
- Open the Roll menu. Look for a banner explicitly naming Midoriya OFA or the Skill Set you want. Read the banner’s details, end date, exchange rules, and featured pool.
- Open the Shop and ticket exchange screens. Check whether the character or Skill Set has a direct exchange option and which ticket type it accepts.
- Open your Hero License and Research Notebook. These menus show progression rewards and any Battle Style Tickets you have earned.
- Read the current announcements. A returning banner, anniversary campaign, or replacement Battle Style can change the route without changing older guides.
If the desired item is absent from all current menus, do not assume a normal character ticket or a generic Roll will work. Wait for a listed route or a new official announcement rather than spending currency on an unrelated banner.
How to unlock Full Bullet
Full Bullet is Midoriya’s Quirk Skill Set. Bandai Namco’s Season 3 information says Skill Sets are available from Rolls, so the practical route is to use the Roll banner that lists Full Bullet when it is active.
Step-by-step
- From the main menu, enter Roll.
- Find a banner whose contents name Full Bullet or the relevant Midoriya Skill Set. Do not infer availability from the character roster alone.
- Open the banner’s information panel and confirm the featured item, probability or exchange conditions, end date, and the currency required.
- Roll only after confirming that the reward is the Skill Set rather than the original character or a different Midoriya variant.
- After acquisition, open the character customization or Skill Set screen, select Midoriya, and equip Full Bullet. The game will then show the altered α, β, and γ skills.
The exact Roll cost, pity threshold, and return date are not fixed by the available information. They are properties of the live banner and should be read in-game.

Midoriya OFA is a separate character, so look for a character or Battle Style banner that names OFA specifically. The recorded OFA Roll ended September 30, 2026; that does not establish whether the character is currently obtainable, has returned, or has moved to a different pool.
When an OFA Roll is active
- Open Roll and select the banner that explicitly identifies Izuku Midoriya OFA.
- Read the banner details to verify whether OFA is a featured reward, a possible pool result, or an exchange item.
- Confirm the banner’s closing time and any required Roll Tickets, Hero Crystals, or event currency.
- Use the banner’s stated exchange or guarantee system if you reach its requirements.
- After receiving OFA, select the character from the Battle Style/character roster and complete any displayed tutorial or loadout step.
When a ticket event is running
Battle Style Tickets can be earned through Special License leveling, the Research Notebook, and some events. A third-party unlock guide says those tickets can unlock characters shown on the ticket’s eligible list. The available information does not verify that Midoriya OFA is eligible for the ordinary ticket route, so check the ticket’s actual list before relying on it.

Bandai Namco’s September 30, 2026 anniversary developer blog described a limited reward for completing every mission: a special ticket guaranteeing a Battle Style from a specified past-season range. It also described another special ticket at Hero License Rank 30 for that event. Neither announcement guarantees Midoriya specifically; the result comes from the selection pool defined by that campaign. Treat such tickets as a possible route only when the in-game pool includes OFA.
If OFA is missing
- Check that you are viewing Battle Styles, not Skill Sets. Full Bullet will not appear as OFA.
- Read the ticket’s eligible-character list rather than assuming every past character qualifies.
- Check the banner end date and your server’s current event notices.
- Look for a replacement OFA banner or a newly listed Battle Style after a season change.
- Do not spend a generic ticket until its confirmation screen names the reward you want.
What Midoriya OFA’s kit does
Bandai Namco describes OFA as a demanding character because several abilities must be managed together. The following descriptions are the publisher’s documented functions; they are not independent damage tests or a claim that one move is universally optimal.

A practical OFA learning plan
No supplied source establishes a best combo, damage total, or strongest skill level. The sequence below is therefore a learning framework based on the documented roles, not a tested performance claim.
1. Practice each job separately
- Use α from different distances until you understand its reach and how much space it controls.
- Practice β without attacking first. Learn where the charge leaves you and how quickly you can disengage.
- Activate γ in a safe area and observe the Gearshift and Overdrive states so you know when enhanced actions are available.
- Test Smoke Screen while a teammate is moving, reviving, or rotating; note how it affects visibility and coordination.
- Learn the timing of Fa Jin before trying to combine it with an aggressive entry.
2. Start engagements from range
Use the long-range α attack to make an opponent react. If they hold cover, you gain information; if they move predictably, β may provide a route into a better position. Avoid treating the charge as a guaranteed hit: it is also a commitment that can leave you exposed if the target is ready.
3. Create an enhancement window
OFA’s identity comes from linking Gearshift/Overdrive and Fa Jin with his basic attacks. Build that state while your team has cover or a numbers advantage, then spend it on a clear target. If opponents are waiting for your approach, preserve the enhancement rather than forcing a long chase.

4. Use Smoke Screen for the team
Smoke Screen is specifically described as ally support. Place it when teammates need to cross an open area, recover from a knockdown, revive, or break line of sight. A screen that protects the team can be more valuable than one used only to hide after an unnecessary charge.
5. Keep an exit route
Before using β or committing to an Overdrive attack, identify cover, vertical terrain, or a teammate who can follow up. OFA has many options, but having several abilities does not remove the risk of spending movement and enhancement resources at the same time.
How Full Bullet changes Midoriya’s playstyle
Full Bullet changes all three Quirk Skills, so it should be learned as a different loadout rather than as a minor upgrade to the original set.

Learning Full Bullet efficiently
- Test α without aiming, then aim at the same target and compare the spread and reach you observe in the current version.
- Use β from level ground and from a safe elevated position to learn how the activation height changes its behavior.
- Hold γ long enough to climb, then practice jumping away rather than automatically attacking from the new height.
- In a match, choose one purpose per skill: ranged pressure with α, area denial with β, and terrain or repositioning with γ.
The cited descriptions support a ranged, area-control, and vertical-mobility identity for Full Bullet. They do not establish that it out-damages OFA or the original set.

This is a playstyle comparison, not a power ranking. No independent win-rate, damage, or usage study establishes one Midoriya option as strongest.
Patch changes and why old guides can mislead you
Bandai Namco’s May 13, 2026 maintenance notice recorded balance changes affecting both the original Midoriya and Full Bullet. The original Midoriya derivative α, Delaware Smash Air Force: Full Burst, received increased damage. Full Bullet’s α was adjusted so opponents are easier to knock back. Those changes demonstrate that move behavior can change after a guide is published.

Before copying a combo, tier placement, damage number, or skill-level recommendation from an older video or article, compare it with the current maintenance notes and the move descriptions in your client. The documented OFA and Full Bullet roles remain useful for learning, but exact timing, knockback, damage, and availability should be treated as version-sensitive.
Unlock troubleshooting checklist
- The character is not in the Roll: the banner may have ended, rotated, or been replaced. Check announcements and wait for a listed return.
- A ticket does not show OFA: ordinary Battle Style Tickets work only for entries on their eligible list; the available evidence does not confirm OFA eligibility.
- You received a Midoriya item but cannot select OFA: verify whether it is Full Bullet, which is a Skill Set, rather than the separate OFA character.
- Full Bullet is not in the character roster: look under Skill Sets and confirm that the Roll reward was successfully claimed or delivered.
- Your move behaves differently from a video: check the video’s date against current maintenance notes, especially after the May 13, 2026 balance notice.
- An anniversary ticket does not guarantee Midoriya: the September 30, 2026 campaign description specifies a past-season selection pool, not a Midoriya guarantee.
What is and is not established about performance
The available publisher material documents abilities and acquisition systems, but it does not provide independent player-performance statistics, measured damage comparisons, win rates, or a verified optimal combo. Use the strategy suggestions above as role-based practice ideas. Treat claims that one version is definitively strongest as unverified unless a current, reproducible test supports them.
