To use a DLC fighter in FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, you need the base game and access to that character through a season pass, an eligible edition, or an individual DLC purchase where your platform store offers one. Then select the fighter on the character-select screen in your chosen mode. SNK says an internet connection is required to access all game content.
How to get a DLC character
- Own the base game. DLC access is separate unless it is bundled with the edition you bought.
- Check the fighter’s current listing in your platform’s store. Depending on the character, you may be able to buy a season pass or an individual DLC item. Availability can differ by platform and region.
- Confirm the exact contents before buying. Compare the characters included, whether the fighter has been released, and the store’s current total price. SNK’s product page is a useful reference, but the platform store shows the offer available to you.
SNK’s product page lists these Season Pass 2 fighters as available: Kim Jae Hoon, Nightmare Geese, Blue Mary, Wolfgang Krauser, Mr. Karate, and Kenshiro.
SNK announced Season 3 would begin July 23, 2026, with monthly character and content updates: Rick Strowd in July, Duck King in August, Kim Kaphwan in September, a mystery character in October, Laocorn in November, and another mystery character in December. The announcement does not name the October or December fighters; release plans and current availability may change. SNK also said characters that had previously been exclusive to season passes were becoming available for individual purchase, but directs players to storefront listings for the applicable fighters.

How to select and play the character
- Launch the game and open the mode you want to play.
- At character select, choose the DLC fighter you have access to.
- For Episodes of South Town (EOST), select a character to begin that fighter’s adventure.
SNK’s official manual describes EOST as a mode where players explore South Town while experiencing each character’s storyline. It also explains that EOST characters can level up and equip special skills; those are progression features within the mode, not a way to obtain the DLC entitlement.

Do you need a season pass?
No. A season pass is one way to get the fighters it includes, but SNK’s Season 3 announcement says individual purchases are available for applicable DLC characters. Check your platform and region’s listing before relying on that option; an individual purchase is not established for every fighter in every store.
SNK’s January Season 2 announcement describes the Legend Edition as the base game plus Season Pass 1 and Season Pass 2. Edition contents and regional offers can change, so verify the current listing before purchasing.

If a DLC character is missing
- Check that you own the base game and the correct character entitlement, either through a pass, a bundled edition, or a separate purchase.
- Review the platform store’s current DLC listing for your region and confirm the fighter is available there.
- Consult the platform’s official support instructions for installation or purchase-access problems. SNK’s reviewed materials do not specify one universal installation, restart, or license-refresh procedure.
