To enter Oogie Boogie’s Mirror Lair, unlock Peaceful Meadow, Scrooge McDuck’s Store, and Chez Remy’s restaurant, then inspect the glowing Strange Mirror inside Scrooge’s Store and start A Halloween Invasion. The mirror is the doorway; entering it begins the event questline, while completing all six weekly challenges is what permanently unlocks Oogie Boogie.
What you must unlock first
The lair is not available from the valley map as a separate fast-travel destination. The event uses three progression gates. Check each one before looking for the mirror:
- Peaceful Meadow: This area must be unlocked in your valley.
- Scrooge McDuck’s Store: The store must be open and accessible.
- Chez Remy’s restaurant: The restaurant must also be unlocked.
These are the stated starting prerequisites for the event. If one is missing, finish that valley progression first; searching other buildings will not reveal the entrance.

Walk into Peaceful Meadow and confirm it is available as a normal valley area. Then enter Scrooge McDuck’s Store through its usual entrance and confirm you can move around inside. Finally, visit Chez Remy’s restaurant and make sure it has been unlocked rather than merely appearing as a locked construction objective. Once all three locations are available, return to the store for the event trigger.

Where the green mirror is and how to enter
The entrance is the glowing Strange Mirror inside Scrooge McDuck’s Store. It is not outside the shop, in Peaceful Meadow, or in Chez Remy’s restaurant. The official patch notes describe the objective as investigating a strange mirror that appeared in Scrooge’s shop and entering it to discover Oogie Boogie’s lair.
- Unlock Peaceful Meadow.
- Unlock Scrooge McDuck’s Store.
- Unlock Chez Remy’s restaurant.
- Enter Scrooge McDuck’s Store.
- Look for the glowing green or otherwise visibly strange mirror inside the shop.
- Interact with the mirror to inspect it.
- Accept and start A Halloween Invasion.
- Use the mirror interaction associated with the quest to cross into Oogie Boogie’s Mirror Lair.
The interaction should start the first event quest rather than simply teleporting you as a normal doorway would. If the mirror is present but does not provide the quest interaction, use the troubleshooting checks below before assuming the event is unavailable.
What entering the lair actually unlocks
Entering the lair gives you access to the Oogie Boogie questline; it is not the same as permanently adding Oogie Boogie to your valley. The official event overview separates those milestones:

- Questline progress: Complete the weekly challenges that follow the first quest.
- Permanent character unlock: Complete all six weekly challenges to welcome Oogie Boogie permanently.
This distinction matters if you only want to look around the lair. A successful first entry confirms that the event has started, but it does not complete the requirements for the character reward.

Deadline: when you must accept the first quest
A Halloween Invasion is the first quest in a six-week Season of Scares challenge sequence. The event notice says you must accept this first quest before November 4, 2026. When it is accepted by that deadline, the later quests remain in your quest log and can be completed at your own pace.

The date applies to accepting the first quest, not to finishing every challenge. If you activate the questline in time, the notice explicitly allows the remaining quests to be completed at your own pace.
What happens in the first follow-up tasks
One documented quest is The Oogie Boogie Contract. Its requirements show why entering the lair is only the beginning of the event:

You must equip the Ghost Lantern and wear a Lock, Shock, or Barrel Mask. Treat these as quest-specific requirements: if the objective does not advance, reopen your wardrobe or inventory and verify that the lantern is equipped and one of the three named masks is being worn.

Collect Ghosties
With the required equipment on, run through Ghosties to collect three of them. The objective is tied to the Ghosties themselves, so ordinary movement around the lair without contacting them will not satisfy this step.
Release Ghosties in buildings
The quest then asks you to release Ghosties in several buildings. Follow the active objective and interact with the buildings it identifies. This is a separate task from collecting three Ghosties; completing one does not automatically complete the other.
Cook Snake and Spider Stew
Later in the contract, cook Snake and Spider Stew. The documented ingredients are:

Keep the ingredient names exact when checking your inventory. Similar-looking food or ordinary versions of an ingredient are not substitutes for the named event ingredients in the documented recipe.

Event equipment and objective checklist

Use the active quest text as the authority for the current objective. The contract’s tasks are sequential in the documented description, so moving to a later activity before the current counter advances may not produce progress.
Temporary access versus the permanent unlock
Players often use “unlock the lair” and “unlock Oogie Boogie” to mean different things. Use this distinction when checking your progress:

If your goal is the character rather than exploration, plan around the six-challenge requirement. A single successful mirror entry cannot substitute for the remaining weekly objectives.

Troubleshooting the mirror and lair
The mirror is not visible
- Confirm that Peaceful Meadow, Scrooge McDuck’s Store, and Chez Remy’s restaurant are all unlocked.
- Enter the store itself; the entrance is inside Scrooge’s Shop, not outside the building.
- Look for the glowing Strange Mirror rather than a normal decorative mirror.
- Check the event or quest log to see whether A Halloween Invasion has already been accepted. If it has, the relevant interaction may be tied to the active quest state.
The mirror is visible but cannot be used
Verify that all three prerequisite locations are available and that the first quest has not already been completed or moved to another step in the quest log. Leave and re-enter Scrooge’s Store, then inspect the mirror again. If the event date has passed and the first quest was never accepted, the official notice does not guarantee that the follow-up sequence will still be offered.

The quest starts but an objective does not advance
Open the active objective and match your actions to its exact wording. For The Oogie Boogie Contract, equip the Ghost Lantern and one of the named masks before running through Ghosties. Collecting three Ghosties and releasing Ghosties in buildings are distinct objectives, and the stew step requires the three named ingredients.
Goofy is stuck in the shop or lair area
Gameloft’s support guidance notes that Goofy can become stuck there during active event quests. The recommended fix is to complete The Oogie Boogie Contract, which restores his normal availability. Follow the contract objectives rather than abandoning the event sequence while Goofy is in that state.
A practical route for returning players
- Open your map and confirm Peaceful Meadow is unlocked.
- Visit Scrooge McDuck’s Store and verify that the shop interior loads normally.
- Confirm Chez Remy’s restaurant is unlocked.
- Inside the store, locate and inspect the glowing Strange Mirror.
- Accept A Halloween Invasion; do this before November 4, 2026 if the event is active on your account.
- Enter the mirror and read the current quest objective before equipping or collecting anything.
- For The Oogie Boogie Contract, equip the Ghost Lantern and a Lock, Shock, or Barrel Mask.
- Complete the Ghosties collection and building-release objectives, then cook Snake and Spider Stew from the named ingredients.
- Continue through every weekly challenge until all six are complete if you want Oogie Boogie permanently.
This route separates access, quest activation, individual contract objectives, and the final character unlock, so you can identify exactly where progress stops.
