Remove Soulstonia – Demo from Steam by opening Library, right-clicking the demo, choosing Manage → Uninstall, and confirming. After Steam finishes, open Steam → Settings → Storage and check the library where it was installed. If space is still occupied, repair that library and verify the installation before touching any files manually. Back up progress or confirm Steam Cloud synchronization first, because there is no Soulstonia-specific guarantee that every local save can be restored after removal.
What you are uninstalling
Soulstonia has a separate demo entry rather than a mode inside the full game. The Steam app named Soulstonia – Demo has AppID 4448060; the parent Soulstonia app has AppID 4432150. SteamDB records the demo’s release date as 8 October 2026. Selecting the parent game instead of the demo can leave the demo files on the drive, so identify the entry by its full name before confirming deletion.
The demo can remain visible in your Steam Library after its files are removed. Valve’s Steamworks documentation explains: “Players that already have your demo in their library will continue to see the demo (so they may uninstall it) but cannot launch it again.” A visible library tile therefore does not prove that the installation still occupies disk space.

Check cloud synchronization
SteamDB maintains a Soulstonia demo cloud-save page, which indicates that cloud-save support is associated with the demo. That does not amount to a Soulstonia-specific promise that every local save will be restored after an uninstall. If the progress matters, open the demo once, allow Steam to finish any pending synchronization, and inspect the game’s Steam Cloud setting from its Properties page. Do not proceed while Steam is showing a conflict or a synchronization error.

Make a separate backup when the save matters
Cloud data is not the same as a local backup. If the game offers an in-game save export, use it. You can also copy the game’s known save directory to another drive after closing the game; the exact location can vary by operating system and game implementation, and the available material does not establish one Soulstonia-specific path. Keep the copy until you have confirmed that the progress is available after a later reinstall.
Know which Steam library contains the files
Steam can have more than one library, including libraries on secondary drives. Open Steam → Settings → Storage and note the library that lists Soulstonia – Demo. On Windows, the default installed-game directory is usually C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappscommon; a custom library uses the same steamappscommon structure under its own drive or folder. Knowing the library prevents you from checking the wrong disk after the uninstall.
Standard Steam uninstall procedure
- Open the Steam desktop client and select Library.
- Find Soulstonia – Demo. Use the Library search if the list is long, and make sure the title is the demo rather than the parent Soulstonia game.
- Right-click the demo, or open its Manage menu, then choose Manage → Uninstall.
- Read Steam’s confirmation dialog and confirm that you want to remove the installed files.
- Wait for Steam to finish. Do not close the client or interrupt a disk operation while the uninstall is running.
- Open Steam → Settings → Storage, select the library you identified earlier, and check the listed used space and installed items.
This route is preferable to deleting a folder first because Steam can update its installation records at the same time it removes the files. It also gives Storage a chance to recalculate the library rather than leaving an entry that still points at a path that no longer exists.

How to confirm that storage was freed
Storage is the authoritative place in the Steam client to inspect installed-library usage. In Settings → Storage, select each library that could contain the demo, then look for the Soulstonia installation and compare the library’s used-space figure with the value shown before removal. If you use a secondary drive, check that drive explicitly; looking only at the default C: library can make a successful uninstall appear ineffective.

The amount returned will not necessarily equal the published requirement. Valve’s Soulstonia listing gives these available-space figures:

Patches, download caches, and Steam shader data can make the recovered amount smaller or larger than those requirements. The figures are capacity guidance for installing the game, not a promise about the final folder size or the number of bytes an uninstall will return.
If Steam still shows the space as occupied
1. Select the correct library
Return to Steam → Settings → Storage and select the library that originally contained the demo. If the library is missing, add it with the + button in Storage settings, then reopen the library list. An alternate library that is not registered in Steam may not be included in the client’s storage view.

2. Repair the library folder
If the correct library is present but its size or installed-item list is stale, use Steam’s documented Repair Folder action for that library. Repairing refreshes the library’s management state without requiring you to delete arbitrary files. Let the process complete, then close and reopen the Storage page and check the result again.

3. Verify installation data only when an installation remains
If Soulstonia – Demo still appears as installed, open the game’s Properties and use Installed Files → Verify Integrity. Verification is intended for installation problems; it is not a substitute for uninstalling a game that is still correctly installed. After verification completes, return to the Library and repeat Manage → Uninstall rather than deleting files behind Steam’s back.
4. Look for a documented leftover folder
Only after Steam reports that the uninstall is complete should you inspect the library’s steamappscommon directory. If a folder clearly named for Soulstonia – Demo remains, close Steam completely, confirm that the folder belongs to the demo, and remove only that leftover folder. Do not remove neighboring game folders, manifest files, or random items from steamapps. Reopen Steam and check Storage again.
5. Distinguish game files from other Steam data
A successful uninstall removes the demo’s installed game files, but Steam may still retain download-cache data or shader data. Those categories can account for a difference between the space you expected and the space the operating system reports. Do not assume that every byte associated with the library belongs to the demo itself, and do not delete cache or shader directories at random while troubleshooting.
Why deleting the folder first is a poor first step
Manually deleting a directory while Steam is open can leave Steam’s app manifest and library index out of sync with the disk. The client may continue to display an installed item, report misleading usage, or attempt to reacquire files later. The supported sequence is to let Manage → Uninstall update Steam’s records, then investigate a verified leftover folder only after the client has finished.

If you already deleted the folder first, restart Steam, open Settings → Storage, select the affected library, and use Repair Folder. If the demo still appears as installed, its Properties page may offer Installed Files → Verify Integrity; use that to let Steam reconcile the state, then uninstall through the Library. Avoid deleting manifests manually unless you understand the consequences for every app in that library.
What happens to saves and cloud data
Uninstalling is not the same as deleting every kind of save
The Steam uninstall command targets installed game files. Local save data can be stored separately, while cloud copies are managed by Steam Cloud. Because the available Soulstonia information does not promise that all local progress survives removal, treat important progress as disposable until you have made a backup or confirmed a successful cloud sync.
A cautious save-preservation sequence
- Launch Soulstonia – Demo while it is still installed and save normally.
- Exit the demo through its own menu, then wait for Steam to finish synchronizing. Do not shut down the computer during a visible sync or conflict.
- Open the demo’s Steam Properties and check the Steam Cloud status. Resolve any conflict by choosing the copy you actually want to keep.
- Use the game’s own export or backup function if it provides one. If it does not, copy the known local save folder after closing both the game and Steam.
- Uninstall through Manage → Uninstall. Keep the backup until you have reinstalled the demo or full game and verified the progress.
Reinstalling later may download a cloud copy, but cloud synchronization should not be treated as an archival system. A local backup gives you a recovery option if a sync was incomplete, a conflict was resolved incorrectly, or the game’s save format changed.
Choosing the safest action

Troubleshooting by symptom
The demo still appears in Library
That can be normal. Valve says players who already have a demo in their library continue to see it so they can uninstall it, but cannot launch it again. Check Settings → Storage for an installed Soulstonia entry instead of judging by the Library tile alone.

The Uninstall command is missing
Confirm that you selected the separate Soulstonia – Demo entry and opened its Manage menu. If the client is busy downloading, updating, or closing the game, wait for that operation to finish and try again. A demo that is only a library record, with no installed files listed in Storage, has nothing left for Steam to remove.
The disk-space number did not change
First check the library and drive shown in Storage. Then use Repair Folder and reopen Storage. If a Soulstonia installation is still listed, use Installed Files → Verify Integrity and perform the supported uninstall again. If no installation is listed, inspect the operating system’s free-space figure after Steam has finished all disk activity; download caches and shader data can make the change less obvious than the demo’s published requirement.
A folder remains in the common directory
Close Steam, verify the folder name and location, and remove only the folder that belongs to Soulstonia – Demo. Never use a broad delete operation against steamapps. Start Steam again, allow it to rescan the library, and confirm the result in Storage.

In Settings → Storage, select the secondary library rather than the default one. If it is not listed, add it with the + control, then check its installed items. The Windows default path is not relevant when the demo was installed into a custom library on another drive.
