To use QuickPath in iOS 26, open an editable text field, then slide your finger across the letters of a word without lifting it. Lift at the end of the word; you can then continue typing or tap keys normally. QuickPath is not available for every keyboard language or regional variant.
How to type a word with QuickPath

In an app that accepts text, tap an editable text field to show the onscreen keyboard.

Touch the first letter of the word, then slide across its remaining letters without lifting your finger.

Lift your finger when you reach the end of the word. Lifting ends the word.

Start the next word with another swipe, or tap the individual keys. You can mix tapping and QuickPath in the same sentence.
Apple describes QuickPath as typing a word by sliding from one letter to the next without lifting your finger in its iOS 26 guide to the onscreen keyboard.
Why QuickPath may not work in your language
QuickPath does not support all languages. Check the exact language and regional variant of the keyboard currently selected against Apple’s iOS and iPadOS feature-availability list. Availability for one regional variant does not necessarily mean every variant of that language supports the feature.

Add a keyboard
Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard, then choose the keyboard you want. Check QuickPath availability for that keyboard’s specific language and region.

Switch keyboards while typing
With the onscreen keyboard open, touch and hold the Emoji or Switch Keyboard key, then select the keyboard you want to use. Apple’s guide to adding or changing keyboards covers these controls.

If you want to remove a word you entered with QuickPath, tap Delete; Apple says this deletes the whole word. You can then enter it again by swiping or tapping.
