As of October 9, 2026, Rockstar has not published verified instructions for turning off music or dialogue in GTA VI. There is no confirmed menu path or list of separate audio controls to follow yet. GTA VI is scheduled to release on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; check the game’s own settings or Rockstar Support when it becomes available.
Is there a confirmed way to mute music or dialogue in GTA VI?
Not yet. Rockstar’s official GTA VI page and support page, as checked on October 9, 2026, do not provide verified instructions for muting music or dialogue. That does not establish that the game will lack these controls; it means no confirmed steps are available to give now.
Rockstar describes the forthcoming GTA VI album as featuring 34 original tracks, but that detail does not establish how in-game radio, mission music, or dialogue can be controlled.

Where to look when the game is available
- Open GTA VI’s own Settings menu and look for Audio or Accessibility options.
- Check whether music, dialogue, sound effects, and ambient audio have separate controls. If your goal is to mute radio but keep mission music, check whether radio and score are controlled independently.
- Confirm the labels and available options for your platform and game version. Do not assume a setting’s name, slider range, default value, or menu location before you can verify it in the game.
- If the options are unclear or missing, check Rockstar Support for current instructions.
These are places and distinctions to check, not confirmed GTA VI menu steps. Rockstar lists the release as November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; the listed release date does not itself establish when particular settings or support instructions will appear.

Why GTA V instructions don’t confirm GTA VI settings
Rockstar’s GTA V support instructions say that its settings are available from the pause menu and include audio. That describes GTA V only. It is not evidence that GTA VI uses the same menu path or controls, so do not follow those steps as if they were GTA VI instructions.
What platform audio features tell you—and what they don’t
PlayStation describes Tempest 3D AudioTech and DualSense sound effects for the PS5 experience. Those are platform audio features, not confirmation that GTA VI lets players adjust music and dialogue independently. Likewise, Steamworks advises game developers to provide separate volume controls for music, sound effects, ambient audio, and character speech; that general guidance does not show which controls GTA VI implements.
