To power off a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, press and hold the Side and Volume Down buttons together until the power menu appears. Tap Power off, then tap it again to confirm.
Power off with the buttons
- Press and hold the Side and Volume Down buttons at the same time for a few seconds.
- When the power menu appears, tap Power off.

Use the Quick Settings power icon
- Swipe down from the top of the screen to open Quick Settings. On some software versions, swipe down a second time to expand the panel.
- Tap the Power icon.
- Choose Power off, then confirm by tapping Power off again. Samsung’s instructions and Three UK’s S21 FE guide describe this on-screen route. The icon’s location and panel layout can vary by software version.
If holding the Side button opens Bixby
A long press of the Side button may be assigned to Bixby rather than the power menu. The button combination above still opens the power menu. If you want to change the long-press behavior, look under Settings > Advanced features > Side button and, where available, select Power off menu. If the phone is frozen
If the touchscreen and normal power menu do not respond, hold Volume Down and the Side/Power button together for about 10 seconds, or until the phone turns off and back on. Samsung Canada describes this as a forced restart, not the ordinary power-off process; use it when the device is unresponsive. Samsung Canada support
Turn it back on or choose restart
To turn the powered-off phone back on, press and hold the Side key. If you meant to reboot rather than shut down, open the power menu with Side + Volume Down and choose Restart instead. The S21 FE user manual

Optional: ask Bixby to turn it off
If Bixby Voice is already configured, press and hold the Side button and ask Bixby to turn off the phone, then confirm on screen. This option depends on Bixby being set up and is not needed for the button or Quick Settings methods. Samsung support
