Odyssey says its Odyssey-3 research preview is available to try. Open the official Odyssey-3 page, follow the research-preview link, describe an environment, then navigate it, move the camera, or introduce an event and watch how the generated world responds. The preview is described as supporting first-person and third-person navigation, with camera movement that can be controlled independently.
Odyssey announced the preview on October 8, 2026. Its public announcement does not state whether an account, particular region, usage quota, payment, or continuing availability is required. Check the live preview for those terms before you begin.
What Odyssey-3 is
Odyssey describes Odyssey-3 as a learned dynamical system: it generates an environment from a prompt and predicts how that environment changes as a person or an agent acts. The company calls the underlying model an autoregressive diffusion transformer.
That description matters because Odyssey-3 is presented as an interactive world model, not merely a conventional video generator. You do not only request a finished clip. You describe a setting, move through it, change the viewpoint, or add an event, and then observe the next state the system generates. Odyssey’s technical and capability descriptions are company claims; they should not be read as guarantees that every scene will remain physically consistent or follow every instruction.

How to try Odyssey-3
- Open the official Odyssey-3 page. Use the research-preview link shown there. The announcement confirms that a preview exists, but it does not publish permanent access terms.
- Check the live access notice. Look for any sign-in requirement, regional restriction, queue, quota, price, or expiration notice. None of those conditions is established by the October 8 announcement, so do not assume that access is account-free, global, unlimited, or permanent.
- Describe an environment. Start with a place, visible features, and one change that can unfold. A concrete scene gives you something observable to navigate and test.
- Choose a viewpoint. The preview is described as offering first-person and third-person navigation. Select the mode that helps you inspect the part of the world you care about.
- Move through the generated world. Walk or otherwise navigate using the controls shown in the preview. Treat each movement as an opportunity to see whether the model maintains the scene as your position changes.
- Move the camera independently. Odyssey says the camera can be moved independently of navigation. Use that control to inspect a location from another angle instead of changing the actor’s position.
- Introduce one event or action. Add a change while the environment is running, then observe how the world responds. A single event makes it easier to tell what changed and whether the response is coherent.
The exact buttons, keyboard bindings, device support, and session limits are not specified in the cited announcement. Follow the labels displayed in the current preview rather than relying on a control scheme from another interactive demo.

How to write prompts for interactive worlds
Odyssey says it uses “temporally resolved prompts and controls to guide how the world unfolds.” The announcement does not define a formal public syntax. The method below is therefore practical guidance inferred from that description, not an official Odyssey prompt language.
1. Establish the setting
Name the kind of place and its spatial anchors. Include features that can be seen and revisited: a bridge, tower, doorway, stream, road, or cluster of trees. Avoid beginning with a long inventory of tiny details. A few clear anchors give you a way to test continuity as you move.
2. Add a change that can unfold
Describe an event or transition rather than only a static image. Examples include rain beginning, a door opening, a gust moving through trees, or a vehicle approaching. Temporal wording gives the model a sequence to represent, while keeping the event specific makes the result easier to inspect.
3. State the action you will take
Connect the event to an observable action: walking toward the bridge, turning the camera toward the tower, or remaining still while the rain starts. This follows the preview’s interaction model, in which a person or agent acts and the world model predicts what happens next.

4. Use one new event at a time
After the initial generation, introduce a single additional action or event and observe the response before adding another. If you change the weather, move the actor, rotate the camera, and add a new object simultaneously, you will not know which instruction produced a particular result.
5. Prefer visible, testable language
Words such as “a red door on the north wall” or “a narrow bridge over a fast stream” give you concrete reference points. Abstract requests such as “make it realistic” are harder to evaluate because they do not identify a particular feature or transition.
An exploratory prompt template
You can adapt this editorial template:
A [place] with [visible features]. [An event or change] begins; show how the environment responds as I [action].
For example:
A narrow stone bridge crosses a fast stream in a pine forest. A gust shakes the trees as I walk toward the far side.
This is not an official Odyssey syntax or a guarantee of a particular result. It is a compact way to supply a setting, a temporal change, and an action that can be explored interactively.

Example: inspecting a changing landscape
A coastal path runs between dark cliffs and a gray sea. Fog rolls in from the water as I walk toward a lighthouse.

Start in first person and move toward the lighthouse. Then stop navigating and move the camera independently to inspect the cliffs. Add only one follow-up event, such as the fog becoming denser, so you can watch how the existing landmarks change.
Example: checking an object interaction
A small workshop has a wooden table, a hanging lamp, and a metal door. The lamp begins to swing as I walk from the table toward the door.
Move toward the door while keeping the lamp in view if possible. A useful observation is whether the lamp’s motion remains visible from a new position, not whether the model satisfies an unstated physical measurement.

A stone courtyard is surrounded by archways and tall walls. A fountain starts running as I cross the courtyard.
Navigate in first person to experience the crossing, then switch to third person if the preview exposes that option. Move the camera independently to look back at the fountain. The two viewpoints are alternatives for inspection; the available materials do not establish that one is more accurate.
Example: introducing a discrete event
A narrow city street has parked bicycles, shopfronts, and a traffic signal. A delivery cart turns into the street as I approach the signal.

Approach slowly, then observe the cart’s response before adding another event. Keeping the scene and the new change explicit makes it easier to distinguish generated motion from camera movement.

A repeatable way to explore a world
- Begin with three to five anchors. Choose a main route and a few objects or landmarks that should remain easy to recognize.
- Generate the initial scene. Read the result before issuing more instructions. Note which anchors are visible and where they are located.
- Test movement. Navigate toward one anchor, then away from it. Observe how its scale, angle, and surrounding geometry change.
- Test the camera separately. Leave the actor’s position unchanged and rotate or reposition the camera if the controls allow it.
- Trigger one event. Use a single environmental or object change, then watch the transition.
- Repeat from another viewpoint. Compare what you can inspect in first person and third person without treating either view as a quality winner.
- Record what changed. If you are evaluating the model, note the prompt, action, viewpoint, and visible response. This prevents a later impression from being confused with the original instruction.
How to make prompts easier to evaluate
- Keep the first scene modest. A smaller setting with recognizable landmarks is easier to navigate than a request containing many rooms, characters, weather systems, and simultaneous actions.
- Separate world changes from camera changes. Say whether you want the environment to change or only the viewpoint to move.
- Use sequential follow-ups. Issue one action, observe it, and then continue. This creates a clearer temporal record.
- Describe relationships. “The bridge crosses the stream” or “the lamp hangs above the table” gives the model spatial relationships to represent.
- Avoid assuming persistence. Do not promise that every small detail will remain unchanged after navigation or a new event. The published materials do not guarantee perfect detail preservation.
- Do not imply unsupported outcomes. A prompt can ask for a response, but it cannot guarantee that the model will obey every instruction or maintain real-world physics in every frame.
What Odyssey-3’s benchmark claim means
Odyssey reports that Odyssey-3 Pro scored 66.1 on Physics-IQ Verified’s video-to-video benchmark and calls that the highest reported score. The number belongs to that named benchmark and is a company-published statement. It is not a general quality rating, a guarantee of interactive-preview behavior, or proof that every generated world will be physically correct.
The cited materials do not provide a controlled comparison of Odyssey-3’s first-person and third-person modes, nor do they establish open model weights, a paid consumer plan, or a public Odyssey-3 API.
Access, availability, and limits to verify
The preview announcement confirms that Odyssey-3 was available to try on October 8, 2026. It does not establish how long access will remain open or whether the service is available in every country. Before planning a class, demonstration, or automated workflow, check the live preview for:
- Whether an account or invitation is required.
- Supported countries, regions, browsers, and devices.
- Session length, generation quotas, queueing, or rate limits.
- Any payment, trial, or usage terms.
- Whether sessions can be saved, exported, or shared.
- Whether the preview can be used by an automated agent rather than a person.
None of these details is specified in the cited launch materials. Treat an item as unknown until the current preview states it.

The preview does not open
First, reread the current access notice on the official Odyssey page. The public announcement does not say whether an account, region, quota, or temporary availability window applies, so an access problem cannot be attributed to a specific requirement from the announcement alone.

The scene is difficult to inspect
Restart with fewer landmarks and one clear route. Use a visible object as the destination, then test navigation before adding an event. This reduces the number of changes you need to interpret.
You cannot tell whether the camera or world changed
Stop navigation before moving the camera, and describe the distinction in your next instruction. For example, ask to keep the actor still while viewing the bridge from the side. Test one control at a time.
The response does not follow the prompt exactly
Shorten the instruction, make the requested event visible, and try it again as a single follow-up. Odyssey does not promise perfect prompt obedience or preservation of every detail, so treat an unexpected result as a limitation to observe rather than evidence of a hidden command syntax.

Details drift after several actions
Return to a small set of anchors and avoid adding multiple simultaneous events. The published description explains that the model predicts how a world changes as actions occur, but it does not guarantee invariant geometry or object identity over a long session.
For developers and autonomous-system teams
Odyssey invites developers working on robots, humanoids, self-driving cars, drones, and other autonomous systems to contact the company. That invitation signals an intended research and development audience, but it is not a public API signup, pricing sheet, or guarantee of access to model weights.
If you are evaluating Odyssey-3 for an autonomous-system project, ask the company directly about program access, interfaces, usage limits, data handling, reproducibility, and whether the preview supports your agent’s control loop. No public Odyssey-3 API pricing or general signup is established by the cited sources.
