“Sync” can mean three different things: moving your data once from a Xiaomi phone to a new iPhone, sending an individual file between the phones, or continuously mirroring messages and files. The fix depends on which of these you need. Apple’s Move to iOS handles a one-time migration during iPhone setup; Xiaomi Share can transfer files on supported devices; Apple’s message-history synchronization features work between Apple devices, not as a Xiaomi-to-iPhone archive mirror.
Start by identifying the workflow, then use the matching procedure below. Do not treat a successful migration or a delivered text as proof that both phones will remain synchronized.
Identify what “sync” means in your case
Before changing settings, decide which result you expect. Each route has different requirements, limits and failure modes.

| Move SMS, selected files and other supported data to a new iPhone | Apple Move to iOS | Must be used during iPhone setup; the iPhone needs enough free storage. Content support is selective, and music, books and PDFs may require separate handling. |
| Send a photo, video or document occasionally | Xiaomi Share with Xiaomi Interconnectivity | Requires an eligible Xiaomi device and software, the Xiaomi Interconnectivity app on the Apple device, Bluetooth, local-network connectivity and discovery permissions. |
| Keep new messages available on both phones | Use the appropriate messaging protocol | iMessage is Apple-only. RCS and SMS/MMS can reach non-Apple phones when the devices, carrier, plan and region support them, but delivery is not message-history synchronization. |
| Keep an iPhone message archive synchronized | Messages in iCloud or Text Message Forwarding | These are Apple-device features that use the same Apple Account or forwarding settings. They do not synchronize into a Xiaomi Messages database. |
| Back up or access Xiaomi app data | Xiaomi Cloud | Designed for supported Xiaomi services and devices. Xiaomi’s documentation does not establish integration with the iPhone Messages archive. |

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Move from Xiaomi to a new iPhone with Move to iOS
Use this route when the iPhone is new or can be returned to its initial setup screen. Apple documents Move to iOS as a migration flow, not a continuing synchronization service. It can transfer supported items such as message history or SMS and selected files and folders.
Prepare both phones
- Plug both phones into power. A migration can take a long time, particularly when the Xiaomi contains many photos or videos.
- Keep the phones close together throughout the transfer.
- Check the iPhone’s available storage against the amount of content you selected. Insufficient space can leave content untransferred or stop the process.
- Install or open Move to iOS on the Xiaomi when prompted by Apple’s setup instructions.
- If you plan to use a cable, verify the physical connectors on both models first. Apple describes a direct USB-C connection as an optional faster method; not every Xiaomi–iPhone pairing has matching ports or includes a suitable data cable.
Run the migration during iPhone setup
- Turn on the iPhone and follow setup until the Transfer Your Apps & Data screen appears.
- Choose From Android.
- On the Xiaomi, open Move to iOS, accept its terms and enter the one-time code displayed by the iPhone.
- Join the temporary connection created by the iPhone when the Xiaomi asks. Keep both devices on their setup screens.
- On the Xiaomi, select the categories you want to move. Review the estimated size before continuing.
- Start the transfer and leave both phones powered and nearby. The Xiaomi may appear finished first; wait until the progress indicator on the iPhone completes.
- Finish iPhone setup only after the iPhone reports completion. Then check the relevant apps, Messages and Files or Photos locations for the transferred content.
If the transfer stops or some content is missing
- Do not unlock, restart or switch to another app on either phone while the migration is running.
- Recheck iPhone free space and reduce the selection if the destination is nearly full.
- Restart both devices and repeat the setup flow if the connection becomes unresponsive.
- For music, books and PDFs, follow Apple’s separate manual-transfer instructions; Move to iOS does not guarantee that those categories will be handled automatically.
- If the iPhone has already completed setup, Apple’s alternatives are manual transfer or starting setup again. Restarting setup generally requires erasing the iPhone, so back up anything already stored on it before choosing that route.
A cable can improve the speed of this one-time migration when the connectors and adapters support data transfer. It is not a solution for keeping a Xiaomi and iPhone continuously synchronized.

- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Send files directly with Xiaomi Share
Xiaomi describes Xiaomi Share as “a short-range wireless file transfer feature provided by Xiaomi.” On supported hardware upgraded to HyperOS 2, Xiaomi says files can be transferred bidirectionally with Apple devices through Xiaomi Share and the Xiaomi Interconnectivity app.
Check eligibility before troubleshooting
- The Xiaomi model and its HyperOS or Android build must support the cross-platform feature. Support is not universal across Xiaomi phones, regions or software versions.
- Install Xiaomi Interconnectivity on the Apple device and leave it running while pairing and transferring.
- Turn on Bluetooth on both phones.
- Keep both phones connected to the same local network when Xiaomi’s instructions require same-network discovery. Wi-Fi being enabled is not enough if the phones are isolated on different networks.
- Allow the app’s requested permissions, including local-network or nearby-device access where the operating system presents those controls.
- Set Xiaomi Share visibility so the other phone can discover the device. You can narrow visibility again after the transfer.
- Leave the phones close together and check storage on the receiving device.
Xiaomi to iPhone
- On the Xiaomi, open Gallery or File Manager.
- Select the photo, video or document, tap Send and choose Xiaomi Share.
- Wait for the iPhone to appear in the device list. The Xiaomi Interconnectivity app must be installed and running on the iPhone.
- Tap the iPhone name and accept the request on the iPhone.
- Keep both screens active until the transfer confirmation appears. Open the destination location on the iPhone to verify the file before deleting the original.
iPhone to Xiaomi
- Enable Xiaomi Share on the Xiaomi and set its visibility to allow discovery.
- Open Xiaomi Interconnectivity on the iPhone and choose the file or files to send.
- Select the Xiaomi phone when it appears and accept the request on the Xiaomi.
- Wait for completion, then use the Xiaomi notification or file manager to locate the received item.
When the iPhone is not found
| Symptom | Checks and corrective action |
|---|---|
| The iPhone never appears in Xiaomi Share | Confirm Xiaomi Interconnectivity is installed, open and permitted to use local-network or nearby-device access. Turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on both phones, place them on the same local network if required, and temporarily make Xiaomi Share discoverable. |
| The phones appear but pairing is rejected | Accept the request on the receiving phone, keep both apps in the foreground and remove any previous pairing or stale transfer request before trying again. |
| A transfer starts and then stops | Check free space on the receiving device, move the phones closer, keep Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled, update Xiaomi Share and Xiaomi Interconnectivity, restart both phones and retry. For a large batch, send smaller groups. |
| Only some files arrive | Compare the selected items with the destination’s free space and file-type support. Test one small file first, then send the remaining items in batches. |
Xiaomi’s FAQ documents this route, but it does not mean every Xiaomi model or every region supports it. If the eligibility check fails, use a cloud service that has apps on both platforms or transfer through a computer rather than repeatedly changing settings on an unsupported phone.

Understand why messages are “not syncing”
Messaging has two separate questions: can a new message be delivered to the other phone, and can an old conversation archive be copied or mirrored? The first depends on the protocol; the second requires a migration or a platform-specific synchronization feature.
| Protocol or feature | What it does | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| iMessage | Apple’s internet messaging service between supported Apple devices and accounts. | It does not create an iPhone message archive inside Xiaomi’s Messages app. |
| RCS | Can provide richer messaging with non-Apple phones when the iPhone software, Xiaomi software, carrier, plan and region support it. | A delivered RCS conversation is not a synchronized copy of the iPhone’s historical database. |
| SMS/MMS | Carrier-delivered text and multimedia messaging to compatible numbers. | Availability and features depend on the carrier and plan; delivery does not mirror past conversations. |
| Messages in iCloud | Keeps message history available across Apple devices signed in to the same Apple Account with the feature enabled. | It is not a Xiaomi-side synchronization service. |
| Text Message Forwarding | Shows SMS, MMS and RCS messages on other Apple devices configured for forwarding. | It does not forward an iPhone’s message archive into a Xiaomi phone. |
Check delivery of new messages from an iPhone to Xiaomi
- Open the iPhone’s Settings and review Apps > Messages (the exact path can vary by iOS release).
- Confirm that the intended sending method is available. RCS requires support from the iPhone software, the recipient’s device and the carrier; SMS/MMS requires an active carrier plan.
- Send a short test message to the Xiaomi number and check whether the Xiaomi has cellular service or data access required by the selected protocol.
- If the message fails, ask the carrier whether RCS is enabled for the line and region, or whether SMS/MMS service is blocked, out of allowance or experiencing an outage.
Bubble color is only a clue about the sending service. It does not indicate that the conversation is being synchronized into the other phone’s local message-history database.

Move historical SMS or conversations to an iPhone
Use Move to iOS during the iPhone’s initial setup and select the supported message content. If setup is already complete, choose between manual preservation of the old Xiaomi and erasing the iPhone to repeat setup; there is no documented switch that continuously imports a Xiaomi message archive into iPhone Messages.
Why Apple message settings do not fix Xiaomi history
Messages in iCloud and Text Message Forwarding are designed for Apple devices signed in under the required Apple Account and settings. Enabling them can resolve missing messages between an iPhone, iPad or Mac, but it cannot make Xiaomi’s Messages app participate in Apple’s synchronization system.

What Xiaomi Cloud can and cannot do
Xiaomi Cloud is intended to synchronize or back up supported Xiaomi phone apps, settings and data under a Xiaomi account. The documented service does not establish integration with the iPhone Messages archive. A Xiaomi Cloud backup therefore should not be treated as a method for importing all Xiaomi conversations into iPhone Messages.
For files that must remain accessible on both platforms, select a provider with current iOS and Android apps, sign in on both phones, and verify that the account has enough quota. This approach is better for repeated access than a one-time wireless transfer, but it still requires an internet connection and does not turn two local file systems into an automatic mirror.
A symptom-based troubleshooting sequence
Use this order so that a basic eligibility problem is not mistaken for a damaged file or missing message.

- Name the target. Write down whether you need one-time migration, one file, a recurring file exchange, delivery of new texts or historical message transfer.
- Record versions and region. Note the Xiaomi model, Android or HyperOS version, iPhone model, iOS version, country and carrier. Feature availability can differ between otherwise similar phones.
- Check the destination. Confirm free storage and, for files, that the receiving app can open the file type.
- Check the transport. For Move to iOS, keep both phones powered and nearby during setup. For Xiaomi Share, verify Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or same-LAN status, app permissions and discovery visibility.
- Reduce the test. Try one small file or one new text before repeating a large migration. A small successful test separates discovery problems from capacity or batch-size problems.
- Update and restart. Install current available updates for iOS, HyperOS and Xiaomi Interconnectivity, then restart both phones and retry the documented workflow.
- Escalate by ownership. Contact the carrier for RCS or SMS/MMS failures, Apple for Move to iOS or Apple-device message-sync failures, and Xiaomi for Share eligibility or HyperOS compatibility.
Choose the right long-term arrangement
| Your priority | Most suitable arrangement | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Set up a new iPhone with old Xiaomi data once | Move to iOS during setup | Requires the setup-time workflow and may require erasing an already configured iPhone. |
| Occasional nearby photo or document exchange | Xiaomi Share and Xiaomi Interconnectivity, if eligible | Short-range discovery, permissions, local-network conditions and model support matter. |
| Frequent access to the same files from either phone | A cloud storage service with maintained iOS and Android apps | Requires account setup, quota and internet access; it is not local offline mirroring. |
| Reliable new-message delivery across carriers | RCS where all parties and the carrier support it; otherwise SMS/MMS | Protocol features and availability vary by carrier, plan, software and region. |
| One message history on multiple Apple devices | Messages in iCloud and, where needed, Text Message Forwarding | Limited to Apple-device workflows and Apple Account requirements. |
The practical boundary is simple: migration copies selected content once, file-transfer tools send selected items, and messaging protocols deliver new conversations. None of those facts by itself creates continuous Xiaomi–iPhone message-history synchronization.
