Start with Windows’ built-in checks before replacing hardware or changing advanced settings. Run the Network and Internet or Bluetooth troubleshooter in Get Help, verify Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and Airplane mode, then determine whether the fault is the mini PC, the router or accessory, or the internet service. For sleep problems, use Settings > System > Power & battery and then check the exact mini PC manual for wake and power-button behavior.
The model is important: mini PCs can use different wireless adapters, firmware, antennas, and sleep states. The procedures below are reversible and apply broadly to Windows 11, but a driver or firmware step must come from the manufacturer’s support page for your exact model.
Use this quick triage before changing settings
Write down the symptom and what still works. A PC that sees the router but cannot reach websites has a different problem from one that cannot see any wireless network. Likewise, a missing Bluetooth switch suggests detection or driver trouble, while one accessory that will not pair may simply be out of range or not in pairing mode.

Prepare safely and identify the scope
Record what changed
- Note whether the issue affects only this mini PC or also phones, tablets, and other computers on the same network.
- For Bluetooth, test a second known-working accessory if possible. If only one device fails, remove its old pairing and pair it again before changing system settings.
- Record whether the failure happens after startup, after waking from sleep, or only after several minutes of use.
- Keep the mini PC model and Windows edition available. Do not install a driver labelled for a different revision just because the connector or adapter name looks similar.
Prefer reversible steps
Use the built-in troubleshooters, toggles, reconnect actions, and restarts first. Avoid registry edits, random driver-download sites, or firmware intended for another model. A firmware update can be useful, but it must match the manufacturer’s exact product and revision.

Fix Wi‑Fi connection issues in Windows 11
1. Run the Network and Internet troubleshooter
- Open the Get Help app from Start.
- Search for Network and Internet troubleshooter and run the automated checks.
- Apply a suggested repair only after reading what it will change, then retry the failing connection.
This is the best starting point because it checks common Windows configuration and adapter conditions without immediately resetting every network profile.
2. Verify Wi‑Fi and Airplane mode
- Select the network, volume, or battery area on the taskbar to open Quick Settings.
- Make sure Wi‑Fi is on and that the desired network is selected.
- Open the Airplane mode control and make sure it is off. Airplane mode can disable both Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth.
If the network is visible but the connection is stale, select the saved network, choose Forget, and connect again with the current password. This removes an incorrect or damaged saved profile without changing other networks.
3. Separate the router link from the internet link
A successful reply from the router means the mini PC reached the router; it does not prove that the modem, internet service, DNS, or a particular website is working. If Windows shows a connected icon but applications and sites still fail, investigate those layers rather than repeatedly toggling Wi‑Fi. A connected icon can coexist with an app, firewall, or service problem.

This briefly disconnects everyone using them, so do it at a suitable time. If the mini PC can reach the router but not the internet, connect it directly to the modem with Ethernet when the equipment and service setup permit. A wired test helps distinguish wireless or router behavior from a modem or ISP problem; it does not repair a failed Wi‑Fi radio.

4. Check the adapter and its power setting
- Right-click Start and open Device Manager.
- Expand Network adapters and identify the Wi‑Fi adapter.
- Open its Properties and, if present, select the Power Management tab.
- For troubleshooting, clear Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power, then select OK and test again.
The tab or checkbox depends on the adapter and driver, so its absence is not itself proof of a hardware fault.
5. Update Windows and the exact model driver
- Open Settings > Windows Update and select Check for updates.
- Review Advanced options > Optional updates for a relevant driver.
- If Windows still reports an adapter problem, download the Wi‑Fi driver from the mini PC manufacturer’s support page for the exact model and revision.
Do not assume that a generic driver, a package for another mini PC, or a driver for a similarly named adapter is compatible. If the adapter is absent from Device Manager after a full shutdown and the correct driver checks, model-specific support is the appropriate next step.
Resolve Bluetooth pairing and disconnection problems
Confirm the hardware exists
Some PCs do not include Bluetooth. Check the mini PC’s product specifications before troubleshooting a missing switch. If Bluetooth is optional or supplied by a separate USB adapter, Windows cannot create the feature through a setting alone.

- Charge the accessory and switch it on.
- Put it into its documented pairing mode; being powered on is not always enough.
- Keep it within normal range and temporarily move it away from sources of interference.
- Open Quick Settings and verify Bluetooth is enabled. Also confirm Airplane mode is off.
If the accessory appears but will not connect, remove the old pairing from Settings > Bluetooth & devices, put the accessory back into pairing mode, and add it again.

2. Make discovery more inclusive
For a device that never appears, open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices and change Bluetooth device discovery to Advanced when that option is available. Then repeat the pairing process. This is useful when Windows is filtering out a device that is otherwise discoverable.
3. Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter and update the driver
- Open Get Help and run the automated Bluetooth troubleshooter.
- In Device Manager, expand Bluetooth, open the adapter’s context menu, and choose Update driver.
- If Windows cannot find a suitable package, use the manufacturer’s support page for the exact mini PC model.
Outdated or incompatible drivers are a common cause of Bluetooth connection problems. A current Windows build does not guarantee that the mini PC’s vendor-specific Bluetooth package is current.
4. Stop avoidable Bluetooth dropouts
- In Device Manager, open the Bluetooth adapter’s Properties.
- If a Power Management tab is present, clear Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
- Update the adapter driver, then test the accessory through a complete use cycle rather than only checking whether it pairs.
Unshielded USB devices connected to USB 3.0 ports can sometimes interfere with sluggish or unresponsive Bluetooth devices. As a diagnostic, disconnect nearby USB 3.0 devices or move the Bluetooth accessory or receiver, then check whether reliability changes. If moving a receiver fixes the symptom, keep it away from the interfering device or use a short extension to reposition it.
5. When the Bluetooth toggle disappears
A missing or grayed-out Bluetooth toggle can indicate an adapter error, driver failure, firmware problem, or hardware-detection issue. Follow this order:

- Turn Airplane mode off and check Quick Settings again.
- Perform a full Shut down, wait several seconds, and power the mini PC on. A full shutdown is different from choosing Restart.
- Install relevant Windows optional updates and the exact model’s Bluetooth driver or firmware.
- Run the Get Help Bluetooth troubleshooter.
- If the adapter still does not appear, contact the mini PC manufacturer with the model, Windows version, and Device Manager symptoms.
Do not promise that a replacement radio or antenna will fit: the internal design and supported parts vary by model.

Find the Windows 11 sleep controls
- Open Settings > System > Power & battery.
- Expand Screen, sleep, & hibernate timeouts.
- Set separate screen-off and sleep periods for plugged-in operation, and review any on-battery settings that appear.
Windows supports different default timeout tables for different device classes. Microsoft’s published adjusted defaults show the following plugged-in values:

Microsoft also lists separate on-battery values, which can differ according to device capability and configuration. Do not infer a mini PC’s sleep state from its size or from another computer’s schedule.
Understand wake methods
Sleep is a low-power state intended to resume quickly. Microsoft describes it this way: “Sleep uses very little power, your PC starts up faster, and you’re instantly back to where you left off.” Most PCs can resume with the power button, while some can also wake from a keyboard or mouse. The available methods depend on the hardware, firmware, and configuration, so use the model’s manual when a keyboard, mouse, network, or remote wake does not work.

Choose what the physical power button does
- Open Control Panel.
- Go to System and Security > Power Options.
- Select Choose what the power buttons do.
- Review the action for the power button when plugged in, then save any deliberate change.
Possible actions vary by Windows configuration and device support. If the button currently shuts the mini PC down, pressing it will not demonstrate whether the system can wake from sleep.
Fix problems after waking
- If a keyboard, mouse, display, or other peripheral fails after wake, disconnect and reconnect it.
- Restart the mini PC if reconnecting does not restore the device.
- Check that the affected device’s driver is current.
- Use the manufacturer’s documentation for supported wake sources and sleep states.
Do not assume that Wi‑Fi remains connected during sleep. Network availability while sleeping depends on the hardware and its configuration; a Windows sleep setting alone does not guarantee an active wireless connection.
Tell a Windows problem from a hardware or service problem
Signs the issue is probably Windows configuration or a driver
- The adapter appears in Device Manager but reports an error or stops responding after sleep.
- Turning off adapter power management or installing the exact vendor driver changes the behavior.
- The same router and accessory work normally with other computers.
- A full shutdown temporarily restores the missing Bluetooth or Wi‑Fi control.
Signs to involve the router, accessory, ISP, or manufacturer
- Several devices lose internet access at the same time.
- The mini PC reaches the router but not the internet, including during an Ethernet test.
- Bluetooth hardware is not listed even after a full shutdown and correct driver or firmware checks.
- Only one accessory fails while other Bluetooth devices pair and remain connected.
- Sleep, wake, or power-button behavior contradicts the model’s manual.
When contacting support, provide the exact model and revision, Windows version, adapter name from Device Manager, the symptom’s timing, and the steps that changed or failed. This prevents support from recommending a driver or firmware package for a different product.

What not to conclude from a single test
- A Wi‑Fi icon that says connected does not prove that every website or app works.
- A successful Bluetooth pairing does not prove that the connection will survive sleep or sustained use.
- A sleep timeout shown in Settings does not identify whether the mini PC uses Modern Standby or S3.
- An Ethernet connection can isolate wireless or router behavior, but it cannot repair a defective Wi‑Fi radio.
- A missing Bluetooth toggle does not prove that the mini PC lacks Bluetooth; it may also reflect a driver, firmware, or detection error.
