If a widget or clock-style option disappeared after a Nothing OS update, first identify the phone model, exact OS build, beta or stable channel, and the screen where the item should appear. Nothing does not publish one universal restoration procedure for every missing widget or clock style. A feature may have moved, be limited to another device or release, remain in development, or be affected by a launcher setting. A wrong time displayed by an existing Clock widget is a separate issue with its own documented steps.
Use the checks below in order. They begin with reversible, low-risk verification and separate feature availability from genuine software faults.
1. Record exactly what changed
Do not start by clearing data or resetting the phone. Write down the environment in which the problem occurs:
- Phone model: identify the handset, such as Phone (1) or another Nothing model.
- Region: software distribution can vary by market.
- Nothing OS version and build: open Settings > About phone > Software info and record every version or build identifier shown.
- Release channel: note whether the phone uses a stable release or a beta.
- Item name: record the widget, clock face, or style as it was labeled before the update.
- Screen and location: specify whether it was on the home screen, in the home-screen widget picker, on the lock screen, or in another launcher control.
- Timing: note whether it vanished immediately after the update, after a reboot, or after changing a theme or plug-in.
These details prevent a common mistake: treating a feature announced for one model or release as a feature that every Nothing phone should have. They also give support enough information to distinguish an availability question from a defect.

2. Decide whether the item should be available on this build
Before trying to restore anything, verify that the installed release actually includes the feature. Nothing says users receive an update notification when new software is available and can also check manually at Settings > About phone > Software info. The screen can show that a phone is current without proving that a particular widget or clock style belongs to that build.
Check release stage, not just the version number
Nothing OS 5.0 illustrates why the release stage matters. Its announcement described a refreshed home screen and the Micrographics clock face as features still in development for beta users, with availability planned for the general release. That statement does not establish what is present on your device today. Confirm the phone model, installed build, and channel before concluding that an item was removed.
Do not generalize from another handset
Historical release information is device-specific. For example, the Nothing OS 2.0 announcement for Phone (1) listed redesigned Clock, Weather, and Quick Look widgets. That is evidence about that release and handset, not a current feature matrix for every Nothing device. A screenshot or forum post showing a clock style on another model cannot by itself prove that the style belongs on yours.
Look for staged or unfinished features
If the phone is on a beta channel, an announced feature may be incomplete, temporarily absent, or changed before general release. Conversely, a stable build may receive a feature later than an announcement suggests. Treat the release notes for the exact device and build as the authority; do not install an unrelated package merely to obtain one widget.
3. Classify the symptom before choosing a fix
The same words—“the clock is missing”—can describe different problems. Use this routing table to select the appropriate branch.

Do not use the Clock time-mismatch procedure as a guaranteed way to make a missing style reappear. It addresses incorrect time data in an existing widget.
4. Checks for a missing home-screen widget
Open the widget picker and inspect home-screen settings
Long-press an empty area of the home screen and open the widget picker using the label shown by your launcher. Search for the app or widget family by its current name, then check whether the item is available but listed under a different category. Also inspect the home-screen settings for options that affect placement or editing. Menu names can differ slightly by Nothing OS version.
If the picker does not list the widget, do not assume that dragging an app icon back will restore it. Nothing’s published missing-icon guidance concerns app icons, not widgets. It is useful as adjacent launcher troubleshooting, but it is not a documented widget-restoration procedure.
Restart the phone
Restart once after the update has finished. A restart is a low-risk way to reload the launcher and its widget host. After the phone boots, check the picker again and test both an existing widget and the missing one if it is now listed. Record the result rather than repeating restarts indefinitely.
Review recently installed themes or plug-ins
Nothing’s guidance for a missing app icon specifically calls out downloaded third-party themes or plug-ins. If you installed or updated one around the same time as the OS update, temporarily review or remove that customization according to its own settings, then restart and inspect the widget picker again. This is a diagnostic check, not evidence that every missing widget is caused by a theme.

Check the app drawer only for app icons
For an app icon that disappeared, Nothing advises opening the app drawer and dragging the app back to the home screen. That action can restore an icon shortcut; it does not establish a method for restoring a widget or clock-style option. Use it only when the symptom is genuinely an absent app icon.

Verify the layout lock setting
Nothing’s home-screen guidance describes enabling Freeze home screen layout in Home settings. A frozen layout can prevent moving or changing items, so inspect that setting if you cannot place, remove, or reposition a widget that is still available in the picker. Turning the setting off may allow editing; it will not create a widget that the current software does not provide.
5. When a clock style is unavailable
A missing style is usually an availability question until the build and device are verified. Check whether you are looking at a lock-screen customization control, a home-screen Clock widget, or a launcher style menu. These are separate surfaces and can expose different choices.
Confirm model, build, and channel together
Compare the recorded model and build with the release information for that device. A style shown in an OS announcement may be limited to a particular release stage. The Nothing OS 5.0 announcement’s note about the Micrographics clock face being in development for beta users is an example of why an announcement alone is not a promise that the option appears on every installed build.
Check for a completed update
Open Settings > About phone > Software info and confirm that the installation completed and the displayed build changed as expected. If the phone reports that an update is available, follow the normal update flow and allow it to finish before judging feature availability. Do not interrupt an installation to test a style menu.

Avoid unsupported “restoration” assumptions
The available official guidance does not document a cache-clearing or data-clearing step that restores a missing widget or clock style. Clearing the Clock app’s storage is documented for a different symptom: a time mismatch between the status bar and Clock widget. Use that procedure only for that mismatch, not as a proven fix for an absent option. A factory reset or manual installation of software for another model is not established as a solution here and can create data-loss or compatibility risks.
6. Fix a Clock widget that shows the wrong time
If the Clock widget is present but its time differs from the status bar, follow Nothing’s specific support procedure. The labels may vary slightly across OS versions.
- Open Settings > System > Date & time.
- Check the automatic date, time, time-zone, and related system settings. If necessary, manually adjust the system date and time so they match the correct local time.
- Return to the home screen and compare the status bar with the Clock widget.
- If the discrepancy remains, open Settings > Apps > See all apps > Clock > Storage & cache.
- Use the available controls to clear the Clock app’s storage and/or cache, following the wording shown on your phone.
- Return to the home screen and check the widget again.
This procedure is specifically for a time discrepancy. It does not demonstrate that a missing Clock widget or unavailable clock face was removed by corrupted cache data. If the mismatch persists after these steps, Nothing’s guidance says to contact Customer Support.

A failed or interrupted update requires a separate path. A missing widget after a successfully installed update and an update that never completed are not the same fault.

- Use a stable network connection.
- Make sure the phone has sufficient free storage for the download and installation.
- Charge the battery to at least 40%, the minimum specified in Nothing’s system-update guidance.
- Do not use the phone in a way that interrupts the installation once the OTA process begins.
Retry only after correcting the cause
After checking the network, storage, battery, and interruption conditions, retry the update through the normal system updater. When it completes, reboot if prompted, verify the build in Settings > About phone > Software info, and then recheck the relevant widget or style. If the update continues to fail, seek support for the update problem rather than trying to reconstruct the feature manually.

8. Use a controlled test sequence
A short, repeatable sequence makes it easier to tell whether a change mattered:
- Record the model, region, build, channel, item name, and screen.
- Confirm whether the item is supposed to ship on that build.
- For a home-screen widget, inspect the picker and Home settings.
- Review recently added themes or plug-ins.
- Restart the phone once.
- For an existing widget with the wrong time, follow the Date & time and Clock storage procedure.
- For an update that failed, correct network, storage, battery, and interruption conditions.
- After each step, test the same screen and record whether the symptom changed.
Testing one branch at a time avoids losing the information that would help identify the cause. For example, clearing Clock storage before confirming that the Clock widget is actually present can erase useful state without addressing an availability limitation.
9. What to send Nothing Support
Contact support when the documented checks do not resolve the problem, when the update repeatedly fails, or when the result conflicts with the feature information for your exact build. Nothing’s Clock support guidance states: “If the issue persists, contact our Customer Support for further assistance.”

Include a concise record:
- Phone model and region.
- Exact Nothing OS version and build from Settings > About phone > Software info.
- Stable or beta channel.
- Name of the missing widget or clock style.
- Whether it belongs to the home screen, lock screen, widget picker, or another menu.
- When it disappeared and whether the update completed normally.
- Whether a theme or plug-in was installed or changed.
- Steps already tried and the result of each step.
- Screenshots showing the relevant menu, if they do not expose personal information.
Describe the symptom precisely: “The style is absent from the lock-screen selector” is more useful than “the clock disappeared.” Support can then determine whether the issue is a release limitation, a device-specific defect, or a launcher problem.
10. Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming every announced feature is universal: release announcements can describe a specific device, channel, or development stage.
- Confusing a wrong time with a missing item: the documented Clock storage steps address a time mismatch only.
- Applying app-icon advice to widgets: dragging an app from the drawer restores an icon shortcut, not a widget or clock style.
- Blaming the update without checking the build: a beta, staged rollout, or incomplete installation can explain different menus.
- Repeating cache clears as a cure-all: no supplied official procedure establishes cache clearing as a way to restore an unavailable style.
- Using another phone’s instructions: Nothing’s historical Phone (1) widget information does not define the feature set of another model or current release.
- Resetting before documenting the state: a reset can remove data while leaving an intentional feature limitation unchanged.
11. A decision tree for the shortest safe path
- Is the Clock widget present but displaying the wrong time? Use Settings > System > Date & time, then the Clock Storage & cache path if needed.
- Is the widget or style absent? Record the model, build, channel, and screen, then verify release availability.
- Is it a home-screen widget? Check the widget picker, Home settings, themes or plug-ins, and restart. Treat app-drawer guidance as icon-only.
- Is it a lock-screen clock style? Confirm that the exact build and device include it; do not infer availability from another model or announcement.
- Did the update fail? Follow the OTA prerequisites: stable network, free storage, at least 40% battery, and no interruption.
- Still unresolved? Send Nothing Support the full environment and test record.
Because Nothing’s official material does not provide a single restoration command for missing widgets or clock styles, the correct outcome may be confirmation that the item is not included in the installed release. Establishing that fact is safer and more useful than forcing an unsupported change.
