A JTX submission is not the same as a completed Solana transaction. First save the transaction signature, then check its Solana status and commitment level. Only after you know whether the transaction was processed, confirmed, finalized, rejected, or still unknown should you decide whether to retry. A generic “failed” or “pending” label in JTX is a starting point, not a diagnosis.

JTX is a self-custodial interface: you control the wallet, while Solana, validators, RPC infrastructure, and third-party protocols carry out the transaction. JTX says it does not promise execution, a fill, a price, a completion time, or any other specific outcome.

Failed and delayed are different problems

Use the transaction signature and the exact status to separate these cases. A delay means you do not yet have enough evidence that the transaction was rejected. A failure means Solana or a program returned an error, usually after the transaction was submitted for processing.

What you see What it establishes What to do next
JTX shows submitted, sent, or a signature An RPC endpoint accepted the signed payload and returned a signature. It does not prove that the cluster processed or confirmed it. Look up the signature and its commitment status.
Processed A node has processed the transaction at the requested commitment. It may still be rolled back before stronger confirmation. Continue checking until the order reaches the level of finality you require.
Confirmed The cluster has voted on the transaction at the confirmed commitment. Inspect the transaction result and JTX order state before treating the order as complete.
Finalized The transaction has reached Solana’s strongest normal commitment level. Use the finalized result when reconciling balances or deciding that no retry is needed.
Confirmed with an error The transaction reached the chain but an instruction or validation step failed. Read the returned error and logs; do not retry blindly.
Not found or null The lookup did not return a transaction at that time and commitment. It can mean the transaction is unknown, not yet available at that commitment, or outside the lookup’s search range. Check the signature again, verify the network and wallet, and investigate blockhash expiry before submitting anything else.

Solana’s sendTransaction method returns the first signature when an RPC accepts the signed transaction. The method itself does not wait for confirmation, and a successful response is explicitly not a guarantee that the cluster processed or confirmed the transaction.

Capture the order evidence before changing anything

Record the following while the JTX screen, wallet activity, and error are still available:

  1. Transaction signature: Copy the complete signature, including every character. A shortened display value is not enough for a reliable lookup.
  2. Exact order details: Note the token pair, direction, amount, and whether it was a market, resting limit, or Smart Fill order.
  3. Time and network: Record the approximate submission time and the Solana network selected in the interface.
  4. Exact wording: Save the complete status, error text, and any expandable logs or transaction details. “Failed” alone is much less useful than a program error or blockhash message.
  5. Wallet address: Keep the public wallet address used for the order. Never send a seed phrase or private key to support.

For Smart Fill, record both the overall order state and each slice. JTX’s terms allow slices to have different outcomes: one can be completed while another is pending, skipped, cancelled, or failed. Treating the entire order as one all-or-nothing transaction can lead to an unnecessary duplicate.

Check the signature on Solana

Use the activity view first

Open the wallet or JTX activity entry and select the transaction details. Confirm that the displayed signature matches the one you copied. If the interface offers a status or explorer link, use it to view the transaction result, slot, block time, fee, and program logs. A status source must be connected to the same Solana network as the order.

Query the signature status

Solana provides the getSignatureStatuses RPC method for checking signatures. A client or developer can pass the signature to that method and request the relevant commitment. Conceptually, the request has this form:

{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"getSignatureStatuses","params":[["transaction-signature"],{"searchTransactionHistory":true}]}

The result includes whether the signature is known at the requested commitment and, when available, the transaction’s confirmation status and error. The searchTransactionHistory option can help when the transaction is no longer in the node’s recent cache, but an RPC provider’s retention and capabilities still matter.

Interpret a null result carefully

A transaction-detail lookup can return null when the transaction is not found or has not reached the requested commitment. That response alone does not prove that the order succeeded, failed, or never left JTX. Check that you copied the signature correctly, selected the right cluster, and repeated the lookup after a short interval. If the signature remains unknown, move to the blockhash and endpoint checks below rather than immediately creating a second order.

Read the actual error instead of trusting a generic label

Once a signature is confirmed, open its transaction details and logs. Solana can include a transaction in a block and still report an execution error. The most useful clue is the returned error and the instruction or program that produced it.

Error family What it means Safe response
Instruction or program error A called program rejected an instruction or encountered an execution condition it could not complete. Read the program log and compare it with the order parameters. Contact JTX support if the message is not understandable; do not alter amounts and resubmit repeatedly.
Blockhash not found or expired The recent blockhash used to make the transaction is no longer valid, or the node cannot find it. Wait for the first signature to be conclusively unknown or expired, then let the application build a fresh transaction. A new transaction must use a fresh blockhash.
Insufficient funds for fee The fee-paying account did not have enough of the network’s fee token to pay the transaction fee. Verify the exact error and the fee-payer balance. Add funds only when the error and wallet state support that diagnosis.
Missing account or account/program validation An account required by the instruction is absent, incorrectly configured, or does not satisfy the program’s checks. Use the detailed account or program message to determine whether the order parameters or account setup must change.
Compute-budget validation Compute-budget instructions conflict, are malformed, or request invalid limits or prices. This is generally an application-construction issue. Change a compute limit or priority fee only if JTX exposes that control or instructs you to do so.
Endpoint or network path problem An overloaded or lagging RPC endpoint can make blockhash, simulation, submission, and confirmation results disagree. Compare the status through a reliable Solana status source and report conflicting results with the signature and timestamps.

Solana transactions are atomic. If any instruction fails, the entire transaction fails and state changes from that transaction are reverted. The network can still charge the transaction fee, so a failed transaction can reduce the fee-payer balance even though the swap or transfer did not complete.

When a transaction is still pending

Allow for blockhash validity, not an arbitrary timer

Every Solana transaction uses a recent blockhash and a last-valid block height. Solana documentation describes a typical blockhash lifetime of about 60–90 seconds, but that is only an approximation. The returned last-valid block height is the correct expiry boundary; do not assume that a fixed one-minute or two-minute wait proves failure.

Solana’s transaction documentation also describes a 150-slot validity window and a maximum serialized transaction size of 1,232 bytes. These are protocol limits, not predictions of how long a JTX order should take. The validity window can end while an RPC dashboard or wallet still shows a stale pending label.

Do not submit a second order just because the screen is late

A late interface update, a null lookup, or an RPC timeout can occur while the original transaction is still capable of landing. Submitting a duplicate before checking the first signature can produce two fills, two transfers, or two fees. First verify the signature through another status source, check the commitment, and determine whether the original blockhash is still valid.

What happens after expiry

An expired transaction cannot be made valid by waiting longer. The application must construct a new transaction with a fresh blockhash and obtain a new signature. Whether JTX offers a retry button, rebuilds automatically, or requires you to recreate the order depends on the current order type and interface. Confirm the first transaction’s final status before starting that process.

Order type changes what “delayed” means

Order type Primary objective Typical timing behavior Important limitation
Market order Seek execution at prices available when the transaction and underlying protocol execute. Usually intended for immediate submission, but confirmation can still be delayed by transaction or network conditions. Price, execution, and timing are not guaranteed.
Resting limit order Specify a price condition and wait for a matching opportunity. It may remain open until the condition is met, cancelled, or rejected; this is different from a transaction that is stuck in confirmation. A chosen price does not guarantee a fill.
Smart Fill Divide a larger order into timed slices. The overall order can remain active while slices are submitted at different times. JTX says Smart Fill can be fully filled, partially filled, cancelled, or failed; individual slices can be skipped, delayed, or fail. It does not guarantee lower price impact or cost.

Before diagnosing a limit or Smart Fill order as a failed transaction, check whether the order is simply waiting for its price condition or next scheduled slice. A completed slice and a pending slice can legitimately coexist.

Common root causes and the right next check

Instruction or third-party program rejection

JTX transactions can invoke Solana programs and third-party protocols. A transaction may reach the chain but fail because a program rejects slippage, account state, token permissions, or another instruction condition. The logs identify the failing instruction more reliably than JTX’s top-level label. Preserve the full log when asking for help.

Fee-payer balance or account checks

Solana validates fee funding and the accounts required by each instruction. Do not assume that a swap failure means the traded token balance is the problem, or that adding funds will fix it. Match the action to the exact returned error: fee insufficiency points to the fee-payer balance; a missing-account message points to account setup; a program-specific error may require different order parameters.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Blockhash and confirmation race

If an endpoint is slow, the transaction can be signed with a blockhash that is close to expiry by the time it is broadcast. A confirmation request sent to a lagging endpoint can also report no result even though another node has seen the transaction. Check the last-valid block height when available and compare the signature through a healthy status source.

RPC, validator, or third-party service delay

JTX’s terms disclose dependencies on Solana’s network, infrastructure, validators, and third-party services. Endpoint lag can affect simulation, blockhash retrieval, sending, and confirmation independently. This is why a send acknowledgement and a later status lookup can appear to contradict each other. Record the times and endpoints shown by the interface, then provide them to support rather than repeatedly pressing submit.

Compute limits and priority fees

Solana’s transaction pipeline includes compute-budget validation, and production landing guidance discusses compute limits and priority fees. These settings are mainly application-construction concerns. Unless the JTX interface explicitly exposes them, a user should not guess at compute values or priority fees as a general-purpose fix.

A safe retry decision procedure

  1. Find the original signature. If there is no signature, save the order ID, exact time, wallet address, and displayed error and ask JTX whether the application created a transaction.
  2. Look up the signature at the correct network and commitment. Repeat a null or pending lookup after checking the signature for transcription errors.
  3. If finalized or confirmed with success, do not resubmit. Reconcile the token balances and the JTX order or slice state instead.
  4. If confirmed with an error, diagnose the returned error. Correct the specific account, balance, order parameter, or application issue before considering a new order.
  5. If still pending, check blockhash validity and another status source. Keep the original order under observation while it can still land.
  6. If the blockhash has expired and the original signature never landed, create a fresh transaction only through the current JTX flow. Confirm that the new order amount does not include an earlier fill.
  7. For Smart Fill, reconcile every slice. Retry only the missing or failed portion when the interface and order terms make that possible; do not duplicate completed slices.

When and how to contact JTX support

Escalate when JTX and the Solana status source disagree, a signature remains unresolved after its validity window, a confirmed error is unclear, or Smart Fill slices have inconsistent states. Use JTX’s current official support route shown in the app or on its site, because contact paths and labels can change.

Include:

  • the complete transaction signature or a clear statement that no signature was produced;
  • the public wallet address;
  • token pair, direction, amount, and order type;
  • the approximate submission time and network;
  • the exact JTX status or error;
  • the Solana status, commitment, slot, and returned error or logs;
  • for Smart Fill, the overall order state and the state of each slice;
  • screenshots that exclude seed phrases, private keys, recovery codes, and unrelated personal data.

Support can investigate the interface and its service dependencies, but it cannot change Solana’s ledger or guarantee an execution, fill, price, or completion time. A useful report gives the team enough evidence to distinguish an unsubmitted order, an expired transaction, an on-chain program failure, and a display or endpoint delay.

Reduce avoidable confusion on future orders

  • Keep enough of Solana’s fee token in the fee-paying wallet, while still relying on the actual error to diagnose a fee problem.
  • Copy the signature immediately after submission and keep the order screen open until a meaningful status appears.
  • Use one reliable status source and confirm that it is on the same network as JTX.
  • For larger orders, understand whether Smart Fill will create multiple slices and monitor each slice rather than only the aggregate order.
  • Do not treat a protocol figure such as 150 slots or an approximate 60–90-second blockhash lifetime as a promise about JTX execution time.
  • Before retrying, reconcile confirmed fills and failed slices so that a new order cannot unintentionally duplicate the original.

The practical rule is simple: a signature proves that a submission was acknowledged, not that the order succeeded. The Solana status, commitment, returned error, and JTX order or slice state together provide the evidence needed to wait, correct, retry, or escalate.
