Overwatch 2 does not copy gameplay settings from console to PC. To move your progression and cosmetics, link the console account to the Battle.net account you want to keep, confirm the account merge in Overwatch 2, and then sign in on PC with that same Battle.net account. Your Hero Gallery items and eligible progression are shared through Battle.net, while gameplay settings—including sensitivity and keybinds—remain separate for each platform and must be configured again.
Every Overwatch 2 player needs a Battle.net account, regardless of platform. Account selection matters: Blizzard’s merge flow allows only one account per platform, and some account links have cooldowns that Customer Support cannot bypass.
What cross-progression changes—and what it does not
Cross-progression connects your console and PC identity through Battle.net. It is an account merge, not a file-copy operation. Once the correct console account is attached and the merge is confirmed, the linked Battle.net account becomes the account through which your shared Overwatch 2 progression is accessed.

Items and progression that are shared
- Hero Gallery items from the linked platforms appear in the merged Battle.net account.
- Duplicate cosmetics are combined rather than remaining as separate platform inventories.
- Progression, Overwatch credits, and eligible tokens are handled through the merged account, subject to the wallet rules for each platform.
- Custom-game options from each account are retained in the merged account.
- Recent Custom Game and Workshop links are retained up to the game’s maximum storage limit.
Gameplay settings that stay separate
Blizzard states that gameplay settings are kept per-platform after merging. Console gameplay settings remain separate from PC gameplay settings, and settings on one console do not become a single universal profile for every other platform. Your sensitivity and keybinds therefore need to be set independently on PC and console.

This separation is expected behavior, not evidence that the merge failed. A successful merge can give you the same cosmetics and progression on both platforms while showing different control settings on each one.
Prepare the accounts before you merge
Most merge problems come from choosing the wrong account before confirmation. Complete these checks before opening Overwatch 2 on the console.
- Identify the Battle.net account that should own your long-term Overwatch 2 progression.
- Confirm that you can sign in to that Battle.net account and that its email and security details are current.
- Identify the Xbox, PlayStation Network, or Nintendo account containing the console history and cosmetics you want to keep.
- Do not begin the merge while signed in to a different Battle.net account in another browser tab or Battle.net session.
- Remember that Blizzard permits only one account per platform in the merge flow.
If a console account was previously linked to another Battle.net account, stop and resolve that link first. Repeatedly starting the merge process with different accounts can trigger account-link cooldowns. Blizzard Support says the cooldown length varies by account type and that Customer Support cannot bypass it.

1. Sign in to the Battle.net account you intend to keep
Sign in to the Battle.net account that should own the merged Overwatch 2 progression. This is the account you will use when launching the game on PC and the account to which the selected console identity must be connected.

2. Open Connections in Battle.net Account Settings
Open Battle.net Account Settings, then select Connections. Choose the platform you are linking—Xbox, PlayStation Network, or Nintendo—and follow the sign-in prompts for that platform account.
Console players can also start the process from Overwatch 2. When the game displays its on-screen QR-code or alphanumeric-code prompt, use the prompt to connect the console account to the intended Battle.net account. Use only the account you checked in the preparation step; a different console login can lead to a different account being presented during the merge.
3. Launch Overwatch 2 on the linked console account
Start Overwatch 2 on the console account you just linked. The game should present an account-merge confirmation flow. Follow the on-screen instructions until the merge details are displayed.

Read the account information on the merge screen carefully. Verify that the displayed console account is the one with the desired progression, cosmetics, and history. Blizzard’s instructions emphasize checking the correct account before confirmation because only one account per platform can be used in the merge flow.

If the wrong console account appears, do not confirm the merge. Exit the flow and use Blizzard’s account-link correction guidance. Starting additional attempts without correcting the existing link can cause repeated prompts or place the account under a cooldown.
5. Confirm the merge
Confirm the merge only after the account information is correct. The merge stores the linked console progression on Battle.net. Allow the game to finish the process rather than closing it partway through.
6. Sign in on each platform
After the merge, sign in to Overwatch 2 on the linked console and on PC using the associated Battle.net account. Check your Hero Gallery and progression on both platforms. Then open the gameplay settings on each platform and configure them independently.

How to recreate console settings on PC
There is no cross-progression transfer of gameplay settings to rely on. Treat the PC setup as a deliberate recreation of your console configuration.

- Record the console values. Before switching platforms, write down your sensitivity, keybinds, and other gameplay options that affect how you control the game. Capture screenshots if that is easier than transcribing them.
- Open the gameplay settings on PC. Launch Overwatch 2 on the merged Battle.net account and open the game’s settings area. Go to the controls and gameplay sections where the corresponding values are displayed.
- Enter the recorded values. Recreate the console sensitivity and bindings on PC where the controls are equivalent. Keyboard-and-mouse controls will naturally require different physical keys from a gamepad layout.
- Test in a low-stakes mode. Use a practice or other non-competitive environment to confirm that turning speed, ability bindings, and other controls feel correct before playing a match where a mistake would matter.
- Keep a separate record for each platform. Because settings remain per-platform, retain the console and PC values as separate profiles in your notes. Changing a PC value does not update the console configuration.
When moving from console to PC, the objective is consistency of feel, not an automatic import. A controller sensitivity value and a mouse sensitivity value may not produce identical movement even when the numbers look similar, so use the recorded values as a starting point and verify the result in-game.
What happens to cosmetics, credits, and tokens
Shared progression does not mean every platform wallet is identical. Blizzard’s policy distinguishes between shared account content and currency purchased on a particular platform.

The Nintendo Switch exception is the important practical difference when planning a console-to-PC move. A purchase or redemption made with Switch-specific virtual currency should not be assumed to create a PC-spendable wallet balance, even though the resulting eligible in-game content may be available through the linked account under Blizzard’s rules.

Console-to-PC transfer: what to expect

Troubleshoot common merge and transfer problems
The merge prompt never appears
- Confirm that the console account is linked under the intended Battle.net account’s Connections page.
- Close and relaunch Overwatch 2 after completing the link.
- Check that you launched the game with the same console profile you linked, not another profile on the device.
- If a different console account was linked previously, use Blizzard’s account-link correction process rather than creating repeated new attempts.
The merge screen shows the wrong console account
Do not confirm the merge. Stop and correct the account link first. Confirming with the wrong account can attach the wrong progression history to the Battle.net account you selected. If a cooldown is applied after a link change, its duration depends on the account type; Blizzard says Customer Support cannot bypass these cooldowns.

The game keeps asking you to merge
Repeated prompts can occur when a different console account was previously linked and merged. Check the Battle.net Connections page and the console account currently signed in. Resolve the mismatch using Blizzard’s account-link correction guidance before attempting another merge.
Cosmetics or progression appear to be missing
- Verify that both platforms use the same Battle.net account.
- Check that the console account displayed during the merge was the account containing the missing history.
- Allow the game to complete the merge and restart it on both platforms.
- Review the Hero Gallery and progression areas rather than relying only on the initial home-screen display.
- If the account identity is correct but content is still absent, contact Blizzard Support with the account details and the exact platform combination.
Currency appears different on PC
First determine where the currency was purchased or redeemed. Battle.net, Xbox, and PlayStation wallets are shared under Blizzard’s policy, while virtual currency purchased or redeemed on Nintendo Switch remains usable for in-game purchases on Switch. In-game earnings and purchases made with virtual currency follow the separate cross-account rules described above.
My PC sensitivity or keybinds are unchanged
This is normal after a successful merge. Gameplay settings are deliberately stored per-platform. Open the PC gameplay settings and enter the values you recorded from console; changing the console settings later will not update the PC values.

- Battle.net account selected: the account you intend to use on PC.
- Console account selected: the profile containing the progression and cosmetics you want.
- Connection verified: the platform appears under Battle.net Account Settings > Connections.
- Merge screen checked: the displayed console identity is correct.
- Cooldown risk understood: account-link changes may be limited, and Support cannot bypass the cooldown.
- Settings recorded: console sensitivity, keybinds, and other important gameplay values are written down.
- Wallet exception understood: Nintendo Switch-purchased or Switch-redeemed currency remains for purchases on Switch.
Important limits to keep in mind
Cross-progression is designed to unify account content, not to make every platform identical. The Battle.net account is the shared identity for progression and cosmetics, but controls remain tailored to each platform. Account linking also has eligibility and cooldown rules that are controlled by Blizzard, so choosing the correct account before confirmation is safer than trying to repair a mistaken merge afterward.
No published statistic establishes a universal transfer-success rate or a guaranteed completion time. The practical outcome depends on the account links, platform wallets, and whether the correct console identity is selected during the confirmation flow.
