The supported way to move data from an old Android phone to an OPPO F35 is OPPO Clone Phone. On the F35, set the role to This is the new device and choose Other Android. On the old handset, open or install OPPO Clone Phone, choose This is the old phone, scan the QR code shown on the F35, approve the local connection, select what to copy, and start the migration.
Prepare a backup of anything already stored on the F35 first. OPPO warns that apps and app data already on the receiving phone can be overwritten by data from the old phone. Clone Phone can move many everyday items, but hardware-bound credentials, security data and some incompatible app data require separate setup.
What you need before starting
This procedure is OPPO’s general Clone Phone workflow for moving content from an Android handset to a new OPPO phone. OPPO India identifies the F35 destination as the OPPO F35 5G (CPH2931) and lists ColorOS 16.0 for that model. Menu wording can differ with the F35 region, the old phone’s Android version and the installed Clone Phone version, so use the closest equivalent label if your screen is arranged differently.

- Enough charge on each phone to finish the transfer without interruption.
- OPPO Clone Phone on both devices. It is normally present on the F35; on the old phone, find “OPPO Clone Phone” in Google Play or use OPPO’s download option.
- Wi-Fi enabled on the old phone and the F35’s personal hotspot enabled when the app requests the local connection.
- A backup of important information already on the F35.
The F35 has USB Type-C, supports a storage card and may include a USB data cable in the box, depending on market. None of those is required for the QR-code and local-wireless Clone Phone workflow described here.

Protect data already on the F35
Do this check before pairing the phones. OPPO’s Clone Phone guidance states that existing apps and app data on the new phone can be overwritten by data from the old phone. If you have already taken photos, downloaded files, created contacts or configured apps on the F35, copy that material somewhere safe first.
- Make a separate copy of irreplaceable photos, documents and recordings.
- Note any accounts or app settings that you have already configured on the F35.
- Do not begin the migration while either phone is being used for another transfer or while one device is likely to shut down.
This precaution is about the receiving phone only; it does not change the data on the old handset. Keep the old phone intact until you have checked the F35 and completed any sign-ins that Clone Phone cannot carry over.
Transfer data with OPPO Clone Phone
1. Prepare and unlock both phones
- Charge both phones sufficiently for the expected transfer.
- Unlock the F35 and the old Android phone and place them next to each other.
- Turn on Wi-Fi on the old phone. On the F35, be ready to enable its personal hotspot when Clone Phone asks for it.
- Close anything that could interrupt the process, then leave both displays available while the migration runs.
The phones use a nearby local connection rather than a computer or a removable card. Keeping them close reduces the chance of the wireless link being interrupted.

2. Set the F35 as the new device
- Open Clone Phone on the F35.
- Tap This is the new device.
- When the app asks what kind of phone is being replaced, select Other Android.
The F35 now prepares a pairing screen and displays a QR code for the old phone. Do not scan a code from another screen or leave this setup until the old phone has joined.
3. Set the old Android phone as the old device
- Open OPPO Clone Phone on the old phone. If it is not installed, install it from Google Play or OPPO’s download route, then open it.
- Choose This is the old phone.
- Allow the app to continue to its scanning screen if Android asks for permission to find or connect to devices on the local network.
The role matters: the F35 is the destination and the old Android phone is the source. Selecting the reverse roles can prevent the expected QR pairing flow from appearing.
4. Pair by QR code and approve the local connection
- Use the old phone’s Clone Phone scanner to scan the QR code displayed on the F35.
- When Android or Clone Phone asks the old phone to join the F35’s local Wi-Fi connection, accept the prompt.
- Allow the app to find and connect to devices on the local network.
- If prompted on the F35, enable its personal hotspot and leave Wi-Fi enabled on the old handset.
After approval, the app should show that the phones are connected. Keep both devices nearby and avoid switching to another app while the connection is being established.

5. Select the content to copy
- Review the categories presented by Clone Phone.
- Select the items you want on the F35. The available choices depend on the two phones and the Clone Phone version.
- Use the app’s on-screen continue, migrate or start control to begin.
OPPO’s general descriptions include contacts, photos, apps, messages, call history, audio, video, calendar events, system settings, alarms and wallpapers. Your selection screen may contain fewer or additional categories because compatibility is assessed for the specific source and destination phones.

6. Let the migration finish
- Leave the phones close together and keep the Clone Phone screens open.
- Do not disable Wi-Fi or the F35 hotspot while the transfer is running.
- Wait for the completion message in Clone Phone before disconnecting or resetting the old phone.
OPPO notes that settings and menu paths can vary by device. Follow the status and prompts shown in your copy of the app rather than assuming that every category will have the same label as another Android phone.

The following list reflects the categories OPPO describes for its general Android-to-OPPO transfer. A category appearing here does not guarantee that every individual item inside it is compatible; the app’s selection screen is the authority for your two phones.

What will not transfer automatically
Do not treat a completed Clone Phone message as proof that every account, security credential or hardware-linked item moved. OPPO identifies several exclusions:
- Transit or access cards tied to the old phone’s hardware or secure element.
- Fingerprints, lock-screen passwords and other security data.
- System-clone data.
- Apps that are incompatible with the F35 and data belonging to those apps.
After the migration, sign in to accounts again and set up the F35’s screen lock and fingerprint authentication directly in its security settings. Re-add transit or access cards through the relevant service, if that service supports the F35. For an app that did not appear or opens without its old data, install or restore it using the app’s own account, cloud backup or export function; Clone Phone cannot bypass an incompatibility.
Check the F35 after the transfer
Use this checklist before you erase, trade in or factory-reset the old phone:

- Open Contacts and verify several names and phone numbers.
- Check the Photos and video libraries, including albums that matter to you.
- Open Messages and Call history and confirm that the expected records are present.
- Launch the apps you rely on and complete any requested sign-in or verification.
- Review Calendar, alarms, wallpaper and important system preferences.
- Set a screen lock and fingerprints on the F35 rather than expecting those security items to be copied.
- Reconnect hardware-linked services such as transit or access cards separately.
Keep the old phone until these checks are complete. It remains your fallback for any item that Clone Phone could not migrate or that you need to export through the original app.
Troubleshoot pairing and transfer problems
The QR code does not scan
- Confirm that the F35 is set to This is the new device and Other Android.
- Confirm that the old handset is set to This is the old phone and that you are using Clone Phone’s scanner.
- Hold the old phone so its camera can clearly see the full QR code on the F35.
- Return to the pairing screen and generate the displayed code again if the first attempt has timed out.
The phones do not connect after scanning
- Keep the phones close together.
- Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled on the old phone.
- Enable the F35’s personal hotspot when Clone Phone requests it.
- Accept the prompt to join the local Wi-Fi connection and allow local-network discovery.
- If a permission prompt was dismissed, return to Clone Phone and follow the prompt again before retrying.
A category or app is missing
Clone Phone’s choices depend on the devices and app version. An absent category may therefore be a compatibility limitation rather than a failed transfer. Check the old phone for the original item and use its account backup or export feature where available. OPPO specifically excludes some incompatible apps and app data, so reinstalling an app does not guarantee that its previous local data will appear.
The F35 already contains data I cannot lose
Stop before starting another migration and make a backup of the F35. The overwrite warning applies to existing apps and app data on the receiving phone; continuing without a backup can replace that material with the source phone’s data.
Do you need a cable or storage card?
No. The documented F35 workflow pairs the phones by QR code over a local wireless connection. Although the F35 specification lists USB Type-C, storage-card support and an in-box USB data cable for some markets, those features are not required for this migration. They may still be useful for a separate manual backup, but they do not replace the Clone Phone role selection and pairing steps above.
Why Clone Phone is the practical choice for this move
For an old Android phone going to an OPPO F35, Clone Phone puts source selection, category selection and local pairing in one guided process. It avoids requiring a computer and lets you choose which supported groups to copy. Its limits are equally important: the tool cannot move every credential, hardware-bound card, security setting or incompatible app database. Plan for a short post-transfer setup period instead of expecting a byte-for-byte copy of the old handset.
