The most practical route is Huawei’s Phone Clone app: start on the Huawei phone, identify it as the new device, choose iPhone/iPad as the old device, connect the phones through the temporary wireless connection, select the available categories, and wait for the completion message. Do not expect a complete copy of an iPhone. On Huawei’s older Phone Clone workflow, the supported categories are contacts, calendar events, camera photos, and camera videos; iPhone applications and their data are not transferred.
Huawei phones running HarmonyOS 5.x or later may also offer the separate 换机无忧 migration tool. Its wired and iCloud methods expose different categories from Phone Clone, so the phone’s software version and the location of your data determine which method is appropriate.
Choose the transfer method that matches your Huawei phone
Check the Huawei phone’s operating system before moving anything. The following comparison reflects Huawei’s documented behavior, but menus and availability can differ by country, App Store region, device model, and HarmonyOS or EMUI build.

If your important material is stored only in iCloud, the HarmonyOS iCloud method is the relevant Huawei-documented option. Phone Clone does not copy iCloud data. If you need messages, voice memos, music, or bookmarks, the wired 换机无忧 method has the broader published list, provided your phone actually offers that HarmonyOS 5.x-or-later tool.

Prepare both phones before starting
- Update neither phone in the middle of a transfer. Finish any pending system update first, then restart both devices if they have been running for a long time.
- Charge both phones or keep them connected to reliable power. A transfer can stop if either phone shuts down.
- Keep the iPhone unlocked and available. You may need to approve prompts in the iPhone app or authenticate an iCloud account when the selected workflow requests it.
- Make sure the Huawei phone has enough free storage for the categories you select. If storage is tight, move large photos or videos elsewhere before beginning.
- Decide whether the information is local on the iPhone or exists only in iCloud. That decision determines whether Phone Clone can see it.
- Do not erase, trade in, or reset the iPhone until you have opened the transferred items on the Huawei phone and confirmed that anything not supported by Huawei has been handled separately.
Transfer with Phone Clone over a wireless connection
This is the standard route for most iPhone-to-Huawei moves. Huawei’s global instructions describe a temporary hotspot-based connection created during setup, so you do not need to buy a cable for this method.
- Open the receiving Huawei phone’s migration tool. Launch Phone Clone. On some software versions it is available at Settings > System & updates > Phone Clone.
- Set the Huawei as the new device. Choose the option indicating that this is the new phone, then select iPhone/iPad as the old-device type. The wording can vary slightly by software version.
- Install Phone Clone on the iPhone. Follow the Huawei phone’s prompt to obtain the iPhone app from the App Store. Huawei advises checking the App Store listing for the iOS versions it supports; that compatibility can change independently of the Huawei phone’s menu.
- Identify the iPhone as the old device. Open Phone Clone on the iPhone and choose the old-device role. The two phones will display a connection code or instructions for a manual connection.
- Connect the phones. Scan the code shown by the Huawei phone when the app offers scanning. If scanning is unavailable, use the manual connection instructions shown on both screens. Keep the phones near one another and leave the app in the foreground while the connection is being established.
- Choose the categories. Select only the data categories that the iPhone app presents. The available choices depend on the Huawei software version and do not represent a full iPhone backup.
- Start and wait. Begin the transfer, keep both phones undisturbed, and wait until Phone Clone reports completion. Do not switch to another migration method halfway through the same run.
- Check the result before deleting anything. Open contacts, calendar, photos, and videos on the Huawei phone. If something is absent, first confirm whether it was local on the iPhone and whether that category was offered by your software version.
How Phone Clone handles existing Huawei data
Huawei’s older iPhone guidance says the imported categories merge with matching data on the receiving phone rather than replacing it. In practical terms, treat the Huawei phone as containing its existing information plus the imported records; do not assume that a Phone Clone run is a factory-reset or a one-for-one mirror.
Use the HarmonyOS 5.x-or-later wired method
Huawei documents a separate wired workflow in 换机无忧 for HarmonyOS 5.x and later. This route is the one to consider when you need the larger published category list, including messages, documents, notes, reminders, voice memos, music, ringtones, bookmarks, or contact blocklists.

The required accessory depends on the connectors on the two phones. Huawei lists a Lightning-to-Type-C adapter, an OTG adapter, or a dual-ended Type-C cable as possible equipment. Inspect both ports before buying anything, and verify that the cable or adapter supports data transfer rather than charging only. A cable is not required for the separate wireless Phone Clone route.

Run the wired migration
- On the HarmonyOS 5.x-or-later Huawei phone, open the 换机无忧 migration tool and choose its wired method.
- Connect the iPhone and Huawei phone with the connector combination required by their ports. If an adapter is involved, attach it in the orientation shown by the Huawei instructions.
- Unlock the iPhone and respond to any on-screen permission or trust request that appears during the connection. Keep the phones connected while the Huawei tool detects the source.
- Review the categories offered by the wired workflow. The published list includes an app list, but Huawei explicitly distinguishes that list from app data; installing an app later will not restore its account records, downloaded files, or conversations automatically.
- Select the categories to copy and start the migration. Keep the cable still until the tool reports that the run is finished.
- Open representative items on the Huawei phone, especially messages, notes, voice memos, music, and documents if you selected them. Only after verification should you disconnect permanently or reset the iPhone.
This wired category list is specific to Huawei’s HarmonyOS 5.x-and-later instructions. Do not assume that an EMUI phone, an earlier HarmonyOS build, or a model sold in another market exposes the same choices.
Use the HarmonyOS 5.x-or-later iCloud method
The same 换机无忧 tool offers an iCloud route on supported HarmonyOS 5.x-and-later phones. Huawei lists contacts, photos, videos, calendar events, documents, notes, and reminders for this method. It is useful when those items are available through iCloud rather than stored locally on the iPhone.
- Open 换机无忧 on the Huawei phone and select the iCloud migration option.
- Follow the authentication screen shown by Huawei. If the tool requests Apple account credentials or a verification step, complete it only in the official migration flow and follow the current prompts displayed on your devices.
- Allow the tool to inspect the iCloud categories it supports, then select the items you want to import.
- Start the migration and leave the Huawei phone connected to the internet and undisturbed until completion is reported.
- Verify contacts, calendars, photos, videos, documents, notes, and reminders on the Huawei phone before removing the iPhone or changing the iCloud account.
Huawei’s iCloud list does not include applications or their data. It is also not a universal replacement for Phone Clone: this workflow is documented specifically for HarmonyOS 5.x and later, and availability may differ by model, region, or software build.

Applications and in-app content
Neither the older Phone Clone route nor Huawei’s newer migration documentation promises a complete transfer of iPhone applications and their internal data. The wired HarmonyOS method can include an app list, but Huawei states that the list does not contain app data. A list of names is therefore a planning aid, not a restored phone environment.

For each important third-party app, look for that app’s own export, account-sync, backup, or device-migration feature. Huawei specifically identifies WeChat chat history as an example of data that the older Phone Clone route does not handle. Because app procedures and support change, use the app maker’s current instructions rather than assuming that copying the app itself will copy its conversations or files.
iCloud-only material in Phone Clone
On HarmonyOS 5.x and later, Huawei explicitly says that Phone Clone does not transfer iCloud data. If a photo, document, note, or other item is not downloaded to the iPhone and is available only through iCloud, use the documented iCloud migration option when your Huawei phone provides it.
Unsupported or absent categories
The category selector is the authoritative indication for a particular run. If a category is not offered, do not interpret its absence as a temporary display error without checking the phone’s software version and Huawei’s instructions for that build. The legacy iPhone workflow is intentionally narrow, while the HarmonyOS 5.x-or-later wired and iCloud workflows expose different lists.
Verify the Huawei phone after migration
Verification is more reliable when you check actual records instead of relying only on a “complete” message.

- Open the Contacts app and search for several names, including one with a phone number, one with an email address, and one near the end of the alphabet.
- Open Calendar and inspect events from different dates. Check that recurring events and time zones appear as expected for the records you moved.
- Browse the Photos or Gallery app and open photos and videos from different periods. Confirm that files load rather than showing only thumbnails.
- If you used the wired method, inspect a sample of documents, notes, reminders, messages, alarms, voice memos, music, ringtones, bookmarks, and blocklists that you selected.
- Open the app list or reinstall important applications, then sign in and use each application’s own migration procedure for its data.
- Keep the iPhone untouched until these checks are complete and you have a separate plan for anything Huawei did not support.
Troubleshoot common transfer problems
Phone Clone is not visible
Search the Huawei settings for Phone Clone, including Settings > System & updates > Phone Clone on versions that place it there. If the entry is missing, the model or software build may use a different migration tool or may not include that feature. Check the exact HarmonyOS or EMUI version rather than installing an unrelated clone utility.
The iPhone cannot install or open the app
Use the App Store listing reached from Huawei’s prompt and check its stated compatible iOS versions. If the iPhone is below the supported version, the wireless route may not be available on that device. In that case, examine whether your Huawei phone offers a HarmonyOS 5.x-or-later wired or iCloud workflow instead.
The phones will not connect wirelessly
Return to the role selection and make sure the Huawei phone is set as new and the iPhone as old. Close and reopen Phone Clone on both devices, then repeat the displayed code-scan or manual-connection procedure. Keep both phones close, avoid leaving the setup screen, and restart the run if the temporary connection is abandoned.

The cable method does not detect the iPhone
Confirm that the cable or adapter matches both ports and supports data. A charging-only accessory cannot provide the wired migration that Huawei describes. Disconnect and reconnect firmly, unlock the iPhone, and respond to any permission prompt. If detection still fails, try another known data-capable connector rather than switching to a random adapter.

Expected categories are missing
First identify whether the phone is using older Phone Clone, HarmonyOS 5.x-or-later Phone Clone, wired 换机无忧, or iCloud 换机无忧. Their published category lists are different. Items stored only in iCloud will not appear in Phone Clone, and items belonging to third-party applications require the applications’ own migration tools.
The transfer stops or appears incomplete
Keep both phones powered, leave the migration screen open, and check Huawei storage before starting again. After a failed run, record which categories are missing and repeat the transfer with only those categories if the tool allows you to select them. Verify the results on the Huawei phone before deleting anything from the iPhone.
Version, region, and availability limits
Huawei’s global product guidance supplies the basic Phone Clone procedure and directs users to the App Store listing for iOS compatibility. Huawei’s more detailed category lists for older migration behavior and HarmonyOS 5.x-and-later methods come from separate support instructions. They should not be treated as a single universal feature matrix.

Phone models, EMUI versions, HarmonyOS builds, country editions, and App Store regions can change which tool appears and which categories are offered. If your screens differ from the steps above, use the labels shown on your Huawei phone, note its software version, and consult the Huawei support instructions for that exact build. Do not assume that a feature documented for HarmonyOS 5.x or later exists on an EMUI phone.
Final decision
Use wireless Phone Clone when you need the straightforward transfer of locally stored contacts, calendars, photos, and videos and your Huawei phone supports the app. Choose wired 换机无忧 on HarmonyOS 5.x or later when you need the broader documented list and have a data-capable cable or adapter. Choose the iCloud variant when the supported information exists in iCloud. In every case, plan separately for third-party app data, verify the Huawei phone, and keep the iPhone intact until the verification is finished.
