The simplest way to move content from an old Android phone or an iPhone to a vivo X Fold6 is vivo EasyShare’s Phone clone feature. Install or open EasyShare on both phones, designate the old phone and the X Fold6, pair them by scanning a QR code, choose what to copy, and start the transfer. Review the selection first: vivo’s manual warns that data belonging to the same apps on the new phone can be overwritten.
App packages may also require manual installation after the copy. Vivo Singapore directs users to Files > Apps when transferred apps do not install automatically. Menus vary by market: the China X Fold6 listing describes OriginOS 6 Fold based on Android 16, while the India listing describes OriginOS 7 and Android 17. Use the labels shown on your own phone rather than assuming that another region’s screenshots or menu names match.
Choose the right transfer method
Use Phone clone when you are setting up the X Fold6 and want a guided, phone-to-phone migration. Use a computer and a USB cable when you only need to browse and copy selected files manually. Vivo documents these as separate workflows; the cable process is not presented as a requirement for Phone clone.

EasyShare’s official feature page advertises transfer speeds of up to 40 MB/s. That is an undated vendor maximum, not an independent measurement or a speed you should expect in every transfer. Vivo also says Phone clone does not consume mobile data.

Choose Phone clone if you want EasyShare to present several data categories in one session. Choose the computer route if you want to inspect folders, keep only a few documents or photos, or avoid changing an app that is already configured on the X Fold6. You can also use both: clone the broad essentials first, then use USB to bring over a folder you deliberately left out.
Prepare both phones before cloning
Confirm the software and region
Check the X Fold6’s model and software version in Settings before following a menu path. Vivo’s official regional pages do not describe one universal software build: the China page lists OriginOS 6 Fold based on Android 16, whereas the India page lists OriginOS 7 and Android 17. A label such as “Phone clone” or “EasyShare” can therefore appear in a different place or use slightly different wording on your device.
If a button is not exactly where these instructions describe it, search the installed EasyShare app for Phone clone rather than forcing a menu sequence from another market. The procedure is the same in principle, but the on-screen names and ordering can differ.

Make a separate backup of irreplaceable photographs, documents and other important material before starting. Vivo’s manual says that, after transfer, data from the same apps on the new phone will be overwritten. Treat the clone as a migration, not as a merge that preserves every existing copy on the X Fold6.
Do not erase, trade in or reset the old phone immediately after the progress bar reaches 100 percent. Keep it available until you have opened representative files and signed in to critical services on the X Fold6. This is particularly important for apps that use the old phone to approve a new login.
Leave enough room and time
Keep both phones powered on and avoid interrupting the connection while the transfer is running. Check that the X Fold6 has enough free storage for the items you plan to select. A large photo or video library can take considerably longer than a contacts-only transfer, regardless of the vendor’s advertised maximum speed.
Close unrelated transfer or cleanup tools and let EasyShare remain in the foreground while it works. If the old phone contains more material than the X Fold6 can hold, reduce the selection first instead of discovering the storage problem near the end.

Plan for account and app-specific recovery
EasyShare can copy the data categories it presents, but a copied app is not proof that its private database, credentials or active login session will work on the X Fold6. Before you begin, note which apps require their own backup, export or account-recovery process. Keep authentication methods available so you can sign in again if an app asks for verification.
Make a short list of essentials such as messaging, banking, password managers, authenticators, cloud storage and work apps. For each one, check whether the publisher provides an in-app backup, export file or account restore. A Phone clone transfer cannot replace those publisher-specific steps when the app protects its private data.
Transfer with EasyShare Phone clone
1. Install or open EasyShare on both phones
- On the old phone, open EasyShare if it is already installed. If it is an iPhone, install EasyShare before attempting the transfer; vivo’s manual specifically requires this for the iPhone workflow.
- Open EasyShare on the vivo X Fold6 as well. If your regional software uses a different entry point, use the installed EasyShare app or the Phone clone option shown in its transfer tools.
- Update neither phone in the middle of a clone. If an app requests a restart or a system update, finish that maintenance first and then reopen EasyShare.
2. Assign the old phone and the new phone
- In EasyShare, choose Phone clone on both devices.
- Set the old handset as Old phone.
- Set the X Fold6 as New phone.
Double-check these roles before pairing. Selecting the wrong role can make the transfer flow confusing and increases the chance of choosing the wrong source or destination. The phone containing the original material should be the source; the X Fold6 should be the receiving destination.
3. Pair by QR code
- On the old phone, generate the QR code offered by Phone clone.
- Use the X Fold6 to scan that QR code.
- Wait for EasyShare to show that the two phones are paired before selecting content.
This is the documented Phone clone pairing method. Vivo describes it as a direct transfer that does not consume mobile data; you do not need to begin by connecting the phones to a computer. If the first code expires or does not scan, return to Phone clone on the old phone and generate a fresh one.
4. Select the content on the old phone
- Review the categories and items displayed on the old phone.
- Select only what you want on the X Fold6. If the new phone already contains data from an app, consider leaving that app’s data unselected unless you intentionally want the incoming copy to replace it.
- Start the clone from the old phone, then accept or confirm the transfer on the X Fold6 when prompted.
The exact categories and totals shown by EasyShare depend on the source phone and its software. Use the selection screen as the authority for what this particular transfer can send instead of assuming that every app or every private file is included. Scroll through the entire list before starting; a broad default selection can include more than you intended.
5. Keep the transfer open until it finishes
Do not close EasyShare or power off either phone while the progress screen is active. When EasyShare reports completion, leave the X Fold6 connected long enough to finish any processing it displays. Avoid switching repeatedly between apps or locking either screen if doing so pauses the transfer on your software build.
6. Check apps and files on the X Fold6
- Open the main file and media locations you selected and check representative items, including recent and older files.
- Open the apps that matter most and check whether their expected content is present.
- If an app package did not install, open Files > Apps on the X Fold6. Vivo Singapore says transferred apps may not install automatically because of permission limitations and directs users to install them manually from that location.
- Sign in or use the app’s own restore process where required. A successful Phone clone does not guarantee that a third-party app’s account, private data or session will be restored.
Installing an item from Files > Apps may still leave you with a first-run screen. That is normal for services that require a new sign-in or device verification; it does not necessarily mean that the file copy failed.

What happens to apps and app data?
App packages and app-private information are different
Phone clone can present apps for transfer, but installing an app and restoring everything inside it are separate events. An app may arrive as an item that needs manual installation, while its private database, downloaded content, security keys or active account session may still be unavailable. Vivo’s support FAQ lists separate topics for app data transferred from other brands and for third-party app accounts; the published material does not promise that those items migrate universally.

For messaging, banking, password, authenticator, cloud-storage and other security-sensitive apps, follow the app publisher’s documented backup or account-recovery procedure. Keep the old phone until you have verified access on the X Fold6, especially if the old device is needed to approve a sign-in.
Existing data on the X Fold6 can be replaced
The overwrite warning applies to data belonging to the same apps on the destination phone. If you have already started using an app on the X Fold6, inspect the Phone clone selection carefully and make a separate backup before allowing incoming data to replace it.
This is why a clone should not be treated as a two-way synchronization. Decide which phone has the authoritative copy for each app or file category, then select the old-phone content accordingly. If you need to preserve both versions, copy one set to a computer first and compare them manually.
Moving from an iPhone
The overall Phone clone sequence is the same: install EasyShare on the iPhone, choose the iPhone as the old phone, choose the X Fold6 as the new phone, pair by QR code, select the available data and begin the copy. The installation requirement is the key iPhone-specific preparation called out in vivo’s manual.

Do not assume that an iPhone app’s private storage or login state will become an Android app’s data. The X Fold6 version may require a fresh sign-in, an in-app export/import, or a service-specific restore. Verify each important app after the transfer rather than treating the presence of an app icon as proof that its account data moved.
Review the categories EasyShare actually offers from the iPhone. If a category or app is absent, use the service’s own export, cloud backup or account-recovery route rather than repeatedly restarting Phone clone expecting an unsupported item to appear.

Use a computer when you need selective file copying
For a smaller, manually controlled migration, connect the phone to a computer with USB. Vivo’s file-transfer instructions say to select File transfer after connecting by USB, then use the computer to browse and copy files. This route is useful when you want to inspect folders, copy only a few documents, or keep the old phone’s app state untouched.
- Connect the phone to the computer with a compatible USB data cable.
- Unlock the phone if necessary and choose File transfer in the USB options.
- Open the phone’s storage on the computer, copy the folders or files you need, and wait for the copy to finish before disconnecting.
- Repeat with the X Fold6 if you are moving files from the old phone to the new one through the computer.
The India X Fold6 product listing includes a Type-C cable in its in-box contents, but package contents can differ by region. If your box does not include a suitable cable, use a compatible data cable. A cable is not shown as necessary for the documented Phone clone process itself.
How long will it take?
Transfer time depends on the amount and type of selected data, the phones’ storage and the connection conditions. EasyShare by vivo advertises “up to 40 MB/s”; because this is a vendor-stated maximum with no independent test attached, use it only as a rough upper bound. A transfer containing many small files can behave differently from one containing a few large videos.
Phone clone is described as not consuming mobile data, so the migration should not use your cellular data allowance. That statement does not eliminate the need to keep both phones powered and available until EasyShare finishes. Let a large transfer run uninterrupted rather than judging progress from the advertised maximum.

The phones do not pair
- Confirm that EasyShare is open on both phones and that the old/new roles are correct.
- Generate a fresh QR code on the old phone and scan it again with the X Fold6.
- Keep the phones close together and retry from the Phone clone screen rather than from an unrelated sharing feature.
- If the interface labels differ from these steps, check the X Fold6’s region and software version; official China and India documentation uses different OriginOS and Android descriptions.
The transfer stops or appears stuck
- Check that neither phone has locked, powered off or left EasyShare.
- Restart both phones and begin a smaller test selection, then add larger categories after the basic connection succeeds.
- Free storage on the X Fold6 if the selected content is larger than the available space.
- Keep a separate backup of the original data and do not erase the old phone until verification is complete.
Apps are missing after completion
- Open Files > Apps on the X Fold6 and install transferred apps manually, following vivo Singapore’s guidance.
- Check the app store or the app publisher’s restore instructions if an app package is not available in Files.
- Sign in again and use the app’s own backup or recovery workflow for private data and accounts.
Some app content is absent or replaced
- Remember that Phone clone can overwrite data from the same app on the destination phone.
- For an app with missing private data, return to its original phone or cloud account and use its documented export or restore feature.
- Do not delete the old phone until photos, files, contacts and critical accounts have been checked on the X Fold6.
The transfer contains more or less than expected
- Return to the old phone’s selection screen and inspect each category rather than relying on a single total.
- Use USB file transfer for folders that need manual inspection or that EasyShare does not list.
- If the X Fold6 is short on space, repeat the clone with a smaller selection instead of allowing a partial, uncertain result.
Post-transfer verification checklist
- Confirm that recent and older photographs and videos open correctly.
- Open important documents from the locations where they were stored.
- Check contacts, calendars and messages if you selected them and verify a sample against the old phone.
- Launch essential apps, complete required sign-ins and confirm that their account-specific content is available.
- Install any apps listed under Files > Apps but not installed automatically.
- Check storage usage so that a failed copy is not mistaken for a completed migration.
- Only after verification, decide whether to keep the old phone as a backup or prepare it for reuse.
Documentation scope and regional differences
The QR-pairing sequence and overwrite warning are described in a vivo user manual for model PD2405F rather than in an X Fold6-specific manual. They represent vivo’s documented EasyShare workflow, but the exact screens on your X Fold6 can differ. The official China and India product pages also show different software generations, so follow the labels and prompts on your own regional model.
Vivo Singapore’s EasyShare instructions specifically address manual installation from Files > Apps, while the EasyShare by vivo feature page, accessed in 2026, advertises speeds of up to 40 MB/s. Those statements describe the vendor’s features and guidance; they are not a promise that every app, account or transfer will behave identically on every regional build.

Can I transfer from an iPhone to the vivo X Fold6?
