Short answer: do not assume AION 2 uses “Diamonds” for player trading. NCSOFT’s August 12, 2025 announcement confirms a Trade system that exchanges items for in-game currency rather than premium currency, but it does not name that currency. A September 20, 2026 report says direct character-to-character trading was disabled after the Launch Scale Test and that the Market was intended to become the main exchange. Because current Global access, fees, limits and item eligibility are not fully documented in the available official material, verify the live Market interface and notices before listing anything.
You may trade only through the game’s authorized systems. Selling items or currency for real money, goods or services is prohibited under the AION 2 Global Operation Policy, including advertising or attempting such a transaction.

What “Diamonds” means in AION 2
The word “Diamonds” is not confirmed as the Global trading-currency name. NCSOFT’s official AION 2 announcement from August 12, 2025 describes the Trade system as using in-game currency instead of premium currency. Producer Namjoon Kim said: “The Trade system enables players to exchange items using in-game currency instead of premium currency. After careful consideration, we designed this system to offer the most enjoyable experience for players.”

That statement establishes the design principle, not a currency label. It does not prove that the currency is called Diamonds, that Diamonds are available in every region, or that a premium-currency balance can be used to buy another player’s item. Until a current Global announcement or the live client identifies the currency, treat “Diamonds” as an unverified community or search term.

Why the distinction matters
- Premium and trading currencies can have different rules. A premium balance may be non-tradable even when ordinary in-game money is accepted by the Market.
- Region and service updates can change terminology. A name used in another version or test may not apply to Global.
- Searching for the wrong balance can lead to scams. A player promising “Diamonds” may be using an unofficial term or attempting an outside-the-game sale.
When you open the current client, use the exact currency name and icon displayed by the Trade or Market confirmation screen. Do not transfer value based only on a forum post, video title or third-party listing.
Which exchange route is available?
The available evidence supports three broad routes. They are not equivalent, and only the first two are legitimate in-game possibilities.

The direct-trading information is secondary reporting, not a current official procedure. Check the latest NCSOFT notices and the Market panel in your own region before relying on it.

How to sell an item through the authorized Market
The sources do not establish a current button-by-button Global procedure. The following workflow is therefore a safe way to work through the live interface without assuming labels, account gates or fee values that have not been published. Stop if your client presents different requirements.
- Confirm the service and region. Read the latest AION 2 Global notices, then verify that you are on the intended Global server or region. A rule or currency name from another service should not be treated as a Global rule.
- Open the in-game Market or Trade screen. Use the control currently provided by your client. If a Market option is missing, greyed out or locked, do not infer a workaround; access requirements have not been established here.
- Select the selling function. Choose the item-listing or sell action shown by the client. A character-to-character trade window is not the same as a Market listing, and a private message is not an authorized transaction.
- Check the item’s restrictions before setting a price. Read its binding, tradability, enhancement, ownership and any other restriction text. The reviewed sources do not provide a complete item-by-item Global eligibility list, so an item that appears valuable may still be unlistable.
- Review comparable live listings. Compare the same item, quality, quantity and any visible condition. Record the observation time and region. A displayed listing is an asking price, not proof that anyone has bought at that amount.
- Enter the quantity and price shown by the interface. Use only the currency type displayed in the confirmation panel. If the screen identifies a fee, tax, minimum, maximum or duration, read it before confirming; no universal value for these fields has been established.
- Inspect the final confirmation. Confirm the item name, quantity, price, currency, expiration or cancellation terms and any charge. Never accept a prompt that asks you to move the transaction to an external payment service.
- Monitor the listing in the Market’s own status view. Keep the item, sale status and proceeds in the account system. Do not treat a chat message, screenshot or third-party notification as proof of a completed sale.
- Collect proceeds only through the in-game function provided. The available material does not document the current collection path. Follow the live client’s instructions and retain the confirmation record if one is shown.
What this procedure deliberately does not assume
- There is no verified Market membership tier, character-level gate or account requirement to quote.
- There is no verified listing limit, listing duration, sales tax or cancellation fee to quote.
- There is no verified universal rule saying that every equipment, material or consumable category can be listed.
- There is no verified promise that an item will sell, or that a displayed price is fair or current.
If the live client supplies one of these values, use that current value for your transaction and treat older guides as potentially stale.
How to buy without confusing a listing with a sale
Buying uses the same evidence discipline as selling. A price visible in a catalogue tells you what a seller is requesting, not what buyers have actually paid.
- Search for the exact item and variant, including quantity and quality.
- Check the seller’s requested currency and the total cost for the selected quantity.
- Read restrictions on use, binding and re-trading before confirming.
- Compare several current listings rather than anchoring on the first result.
- Confirm the order only inside the authorized Market screen.
- Verify delivery in the game’s inventory, mailbox or Market status area as directed by the client.
Never send currency first because another player promises to deliver an item manually. If direct trading is disabled, that arrangement has no authorized delivery mechanism and creates an avoidable account and policy risk.

AION2 Market’s European catalogue says it contains 1,691 tradable item records and that 8,182 item pages were checked against the official Global EU catalogue on October 5, 2026. Those are the catalogue’s own dataset figures, not NCSOFT sales statistics. The site also states that EU coverage is partial and asks readers to check the observation date.
Use such a catalogue as a dated catalogue snapshot:
- It can show that an item was observed in a listing catalogue.
- It cannot prove that the item is currently listed in your server or region.
- It cannot prove that the displayed price produced a completed sale.
- It cannot establish average earnings, sale speed or demand.
When recording a comparison, write down the region, item version, quantity, timestamp and whether the figure is a listing or a completed transaction. If any of those fields are missing, label the number as an incomplete observation rather than a market value.

Item eligibility: check the object, not the rumor
The available official material does not publish a complete Global list of items that may be sold. Eligibility can therefore be decided only from the item’s current restriction text and the Market’s acceptance rules.
Before listing, verify
- Whether the item is marked tradable or sellable.
- Whether equipping, opening, enhancing, socketing or otherwise using it changes that status.
- Whether the item is bound to the character, account or server.
- Whether the Market accepts that category and quantity.
- Whether the selected region and server match the listing destination shown by the client.
When a valuable item cannot be listed
Do not destroy, mail, trade or alter the item merely to test a theory. Capture the exact restriction message, check current official support guidance and look for a documented explanation of the binding state. A third-party claim that an item is “always tradable” is not enough to override the client’s restriction.

The AION 2 Global Operation Policy defines real-money trading (RMT) as exchanging in-game items or currency for real money, goods or services. The policy also lists participating in, assisting, attempting or advertising RMT as sanctionable conduct. The Global Support FAQ repeats the prohibition.
That boundary applies even when both parties agree, even when the exchange is described as a “gift,” and even when the proposed payment is an outside service rather than cash. Authorized Market currency is an in-game transaction; a bank transfer, gift card, digital asset, account credit, physical product, boosting service or other outside consideration is not a substitute for it.
Examples of prohibited arrangements
- Offering game currency in exchange for cash or a payment app transfer.
- Advertising an item for a subscription, code, product, coaching session or other service.
- Buying currency from a third party and then attempting to deliver it through an in-game trade.
- Helping another player hide, broker or promote an outside-the-game transaction.
Use the official reporting and support channels if another player solicits an RMT deal. Do not continue the conversation by sending test payments or items.

A practical decision checklist
Run this checklist immediately before committing an item or currency:
- Am I using the current Global client and an official in-game exchange screen?
- Does the screen identify the currency clearly, and am I avoiding an unverified “Diamonds” label?
- Is the item explicitly eligible, with no binding or use-state restriction?
- Have I separated asking prices from confirmed sales?
- Have I checked the region, quantity, total price and any displayed fee?
- Does the transaction remain entirely inside the game?
- Have I read the final confirmation instead of relying on a chat message?
If any answer is no, pause and verify through current official notices or support before proceeding.
What remains undocumented
Readers should not rely on an online guide that invents precise values for the following until NCSOFT publishes or the live Global client clearly displays them:
- the official name of the ordinary trading currency;
- Market access requirements and account or character gates;
- the complete list of eligible item categories;
- listing caps, duration, tax, fees and cancellation rules;
- the method and timing for collecting sale proceeds;
- whether direct character trading will return, and under what conditions.
These omissions are operational limitations, not invitations to experiment with unofficial exchanges. The safest source for a changed rule is a current NCSOFT notice, the Global Operation Policy, the Global Support FAQ or the text presented by your own client at the moment of the transaction.
