Use Marvel’s official Comics Release Calendar to monitor scheduled issues and collections, then pair it with an issue-by-issue checklist that records what you own. Keep collected editions—such as trade paperbacks and omnibuses—as separate entries from their original single issues. That distinction helps you spot gaps without mistaking a story you own in a book for a single issue in your collection.
Start with Marvel’s release calendar
Marvel’s Comics Release Calendar is the publisher-side schedule to check for upcoming releases. It has separate sections for new releases, Marvel Unlimited additions, and new collections, with on-sale dates. Use the new-release and collection sections to identify items to add to your tracking list.
A calendar date is a scheduled date, not a guarantee that the release will arrive unchanged. Check the calendar again before you buy or visit a shop, and update your checklist if a listing or date changes.

Give every single issue its own record. A series title alone is not enough: Marvel relaunches can reuse titles, and variants can make two copies of the same numbered issue different targets for a collector.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Series title and run: Record the series name and the year or volume when shown.
- Issue number: Use the numbered issue, not just the story arc or series name.
- Format: Distinguish a single issue from a collected book.
- Variant or cover: Note the specific cover edition if that is what you intend to collect.
- Ownership: Mark the exact format and variant you acquired, rather than marking the issue generically.
For example, if your target is a particular cover of an issue, an entry that only says “series title, issue number” may incorrectly make the issue look complete when you own a different cover.
Turn your inventory into a missing-issue list
After each purchase or delivery, update the catalog while the format and cover are easy to verify. Then review the run issue by issue and compare it with a complete checklist or a catalog’s missing-issue view. CLZ documents searching by series and issue number, displaying owned status, and hiding owned issues to focus on gaps. Its feature update says: “In the Add Comics by Series screen, you can now hide all issues that you already own, so that you can focus on your missing issues more easily.” The update is dated February 25, 2025; see CLZ’s feature updates.

When choosing a digital catalog, check whether it distinguishes series runs and issue numbers, represents variants, surfaces issues not marked owned, and tracks collections separately. Also confirm that its current platform support and export options fit your workflow; these details can change, so verify them with the service before committing your inventory.
Track collected editions as separate items
Add each trade paperback, hardcover, omnibus, or other collected edition as its own owned object. If you know which issues it contains, record those contents in a note or linked field. This lets your catalog answer two different questions: whether you own a particular story in collected form and whether you own each original single issue.

Marvel’s calendar separates new collections from other releases, making it useful for spotting scheduled collected editions. Check that section regularly, and recheck before acting on a listed date. The calendar is a schedule, not a personal inventory, so it cannot tell you which volumes or issues you already own.

Paper checklist
Paper works if you prefer to browse or mark your collection offline. CLZ describes printed Core books that catalog series, issues, and variants with checkboxes. A printed checklist is static, though, so use Marvel’s current calendar alongside it to keep up with new releases.
Combined tracking
You can use a paper checklist for browsing and a digital record for updates, or the reverse. Whichever format you choose, keep one authoritative record of what you own; otherwise, separate lists can drift out of sync.

Keep the checklist current
- Set your scope: Decide whether you are tracking single issues, cover variants, collected editions, or all three.
- Review Marvel’s calendar: Check upcoming issues and collections on a regular cadence, then verify dates again before acting on them.
- Add each target: Record the series run, issue number, format, and variant when relevant.
- Update ownership promptly: Mark the exact copy or edition after buying or receiving it.
- Review gaps by series: Use a missing-issue view or compare your records against a complete checklist.
- Reconcile periodically: Compare the catalog with your purchase records and current publisher listings. Catalog entries and variants can be added or corrected over time; CLZ describes ongoing catalog additions in its official product information.
A local comic shop’s pull-list service may also help reserve upcoming issues, but treat it as an acquisition aid rather than a substitute for your own inventory: your checklist still needs to show what arrived and which cover you received.
