Use Event to open the currently active Star Path, review its Duties, collect the tokens awarded for completed tasks, and spend those tokens in Rewards. Track Routine Duties separately because they unlock weekly and can also advance the Star Path Vault. DreamSnaps uses a different process: submit through the Event tab, then claim results and rewards from your in-game mailbox after voting.

Because event menus, timers, and available rewards rotate, treat the live Event page and its countdown as the final authority. The procedures below describe the systems documented by Gameloft through April 2026; a later update may rename a tab or adjust a rule.

Know which event system you are tracking

Disney Dreamlight Valley places several limited-time activities under its event interface, but they do not all use the same currency or claim process. Identifying the system first prevents the most common mistake: looking for a Star Path token in the mailbox, or expecting a DreamSnaps prize to appear in the Star Path reward track.

Gameloft’s Help Center describes the Star Path as a seasonal mission system with separate progression tracks. Its 2025 Star Path materials identify Duties as the tasks that award tokens, while the April 2026 Vault announcement describes the Vault as a separate, sequential track. DreamSnaps is not a token-spending page; it has its own submission, voting, and mailbox flow.

Track regular Star Path Duties and turn them into rewards

1. Open the active Star Path

  1. Open the game’s Event menu.
  2. Select the Star Path that is marked active. If more than one event tile is visible, read the title and countdown so you do not work in an ended or inactive page.
  3. Open the Duties section. This is the list of tasks currently available to your account.

Read the complete wording of a Duty before leaving the menu. A task may specify an activity, a type of item, or a particular interaction. The Duty list is the reliable place to see the exact requirement and its current completion state; general guesses about what “should count” are not a substitute for the wording shown in your game.

2. Select a Duty and complete its stated task

  1. Choose one Duty from the list so you can see its objective and the token amount associated with completion.
  2. Carry out the objective in the Valley, using the category or activity named by the Duty.
  3. Return to the Event menu and reopen the Duty list. Check whether the task is marked complete and whether its token reward is ready to collect.

Returning to the list matters because the completion indicator and the reward-collection action are displayed there. Completing an activity in the Valley is not the same as spending the resulting tokens; those are two separate actions.

3. Collect tokens, then open Rewards

  1. From the completed Duty entry, collect the token reward shown by the interface.
  2. Open the Star Path’s Rewards section.
  3. Review the available reward pages and your token balance.
  4. Select an affordable reward and confirm the redemption in the game’s current interface.

Tokens are the Star Path’s spending currency. They do not automatically become the cosmetic, resource, or other item shown on a reward page. You must use the Rewards section to exchange tokens for the items you choose. If a reward remains locked, check its displayed requirement and your token balance rather than assuming the Duty failed.

Use Routine Duties as a separate weekly queue

Routine Duties were explained in Gameloft’s Star Path changes deep dive published August 18, 2025. They are released weekly and remain available after they unlock. Gameloft’s exact reassurance was: “Routine Duties do not go away once they’re unlocked.” That makes them different from a task that disappears simply because you did not finish it during the week it was introduced.

When new Routine Duties appear

The 2025 explainer lists the release time as Wednesday at 1:00 PM UTC. This is a schedule from that official explanation, not a permanent guarantee for every future update. Use the timer and the current Routine Duties page in your game to confirm the next release, especially after a patch or a regional schedule change.

How access changes the order you can complete

  • Non-Premium access: complete released Routine Duties in order. A later released duty may remain unavailable until earlier ones are finished.
  • Premium access: complete released duties in any order, which allows catch-up when several weekly releases are waiting.

These are access rules described in the August 2025 materials. The labels and catch-up behavior can be revised by a later Star Path update, so follow the order controls shown on your current page.

Routine Duty tracking steps

  1. Open Event and select the active Star Path.
  2. Open the Routine Duties area rather than the ordinary Duty list.
  3. Note which entries are released, locked behind an earlier entry, or already complete.
  4. Complete the first available task exactly as written.
  5. Return to Routine Duties to verify completion and record the progress it contributes to any active track.

Do not delete an unfinished weekly task from your plan merely because its release week has passed. The official wording says unlocked Routine Duties remain available. You still need to check the event’s overall closing timer, because an event-specific deadline can be different from the weekly release cadence.

Track the Star Path Vault

The Star Path Vault is a separate linear reward track, not another name for the ordinary Rewards page. Gameloft introduced it in an announcement dated April 7, 2026. When the active Star Path includes a Vault, the Vault page shows the sequence of rewards and the progress needed to unlock the next one.

How Vault progress is earned

Each Vault reward requires three Routine Duties, according to the April 2026 announcement. Those Routine Duties count toward both the active Star Path and the Vault. This shared progress is the key planning advantage: completing eligible Routine Duties advances two displayed tracks at once, but it does not mean that an ordinary Star Path Duty automatically satisfies a Vault requirement.

Vault tracking procedure

  1. Open Event, choose the active Star Path, and select Vault if that page is present.
  2. Check the next locked reward and the displayed Routine Duty count.
  3. Open Routine Duties and complete the available entries.
  4. Return to the Vault page after each completion to confirm that the count increased.
  5. When the required three Routine Duties are recorded, review the newly unlocked reward and claim it using the action shown on the Vault page.

The Vault is sequential: you unlock rewards in order rather than selecting any item from the full list. Its item selection rotates with each new Star Path, so a Vault shown during one event is not a permanent catalog. Record the event title and timer if you are planning around a particular item.

Track DreamSnaps submissions and mailbox rewards

DreamSnaps follows a different route from Star Path Duties. You do not earn Star Path tokens by submitting a DreamSnaps entry, and you should not search the Star Path Rewards page for the result.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Submit through the Event tab

  1. Open the game’s Event tab.
  2. Select the active DreamSnaps challenge.
  3. Review the challenge requirements shown on that page before submitting.
  4. Prepare and submit your entry through the in-game DreamSnaps flow.

The submission page and its timer establish whether the challenge is still accepting entries. Do not rely on a remembered weekly date if the live page shows a different deadline.

Claim the result after voting

  1. Wait for the challenge’s voting period to finish.
  2. Open the in-game mailbox.
  3. Look for the DreamSnaps result and reward message.
  4. Open the message and claim the reward using the mailbox action.

DreamSnaps rewards are surfaced through the mailbox after voting. This is why an apparently successful submission can leave the Star Path token balance unchanged while still having a reward waiting elsewhere in the interface.

Use timers to avoid missing a rotating event

Event content is not static. Star Paths are seasonal, Routine Duties are released on a schedule, Vault selections rotate with each new Star Path, and DreamSnaps challenges have separate submission and voting windows. The countdown shown on the active in-game page is the best source for your account and region.

  • Check the timer on the Star Path landing page before spending time on a long Duty chain.
  • Check the Routine Duties page after the weekly release time to see what actually unlocked.
  • Check the Vault page for the current item sequence instead of relying on screenshots from an earlier Star Path.
  • Check DreamSnaps submission and voting timers independently; they are not the Star Path timer.
  • Before closing the game, revisit the relevant page and confirm that completion, token collection, or mailbox claiming registered.

Third-party event calendars can help you plan, but they can become outdated when an update changes dates or reward availability. Use them as reminders only and verify every deadline in the live Event interface.

A practical weekly tracking routine

At the start of a Star Path

  • Open the active Star Path and scan the full Duty list.
  • Note the token cost of rewards you actually want so you can prioritize suitable tasks.
  • Check whether a Vault is present and record the next sequential reward.
  • Open Routine Duties and identify any released entries that can advance both Star Path and Vault progress.

During the week

  • Complete one available Duty, then return to the menu to collect its tokens.
  • Spend tokens in Rewards only after confirming which item you want; tokens are the currency, not the final reward.
  • Complete Routine Duties in the order permitted by your access level.
  • Reopen the Vault after Routine Duty completions to verify its counter.

Before an event closes

  • Use the in-game timer to determine how much time remains.
  • Collect completed Duty tokens rather than leaving them in an unclaimed state.
  • Redeem tokens on the Star Path Rewards page if you have enough for the items you want.
  • Claim any unlocked Vault reward shown on its page.
  • Check the mailbox for completed DreamSnaps results and claim available messages.

This routine keeps four different kinds of progress visible without treating them as interchangeable.

Troubleshoot missing progress or rewards

A Duty still appears incomplete

  • Reopen the exact Duty entry and compare the objective with what you performed; category wording can matter.
  • Confirm that you are viewing the currently active Star Path rather than another event tile.
  • Return to the Duty list after the activity and look for the completion state and collection action.
  • Check the event timer in case the page changed while you were away.

Tokens are not available to spend

  • Verify that you collected the token reward from the completed Duty entry.
  • Open the Star Path Rewards page and check the displayed balance there.
  • Do not confuse a Vault progression counter or a DreamSnaps mailbox item with Star Path tokens.

The Vault counter did not move

  • Confirm that the completed task was a Routine Duty. Ordinary Star Path Duties are not described as Vault-counting tasks.
  • Return to the Vault page and compare its counter with the Routine Duties completion state.
  • Check whether the current Vault requires three Routine Duties for the next reward, as specified in the April 2026 announcement.

A Routine Duty is locked

For non-Premium access, released Routine Duties are completed in order. Finish the earlier available entry and check the list again. Premium access is described as allowing released duties in any order, but a later update may change the labels or controls shown in your version.

A DreamSnaps reward is missing

Check the mailbox after the voting period, not the Star Path Rewards page. If voting has not finished, the result message will not yet be available. Also verify that you submitted through the active challenge shown in the Event tab.

What you need before tracking events

  • An installed copy of Disney Dreamlight Valley with access to the in-game Event menu.
  • An active event or Star Path; there may be no current page for a seasonal activity between rotations.
  • A stable connection long enough for completion and mailbox claims to synchronize with the game service.
  • The ability to read the live timer and current menu labels, since exact controller inputs were not established consistently across platforms.

No universal button combination is required for this guide. Use the on-screen prompts for your platform, and follow the labels currently shown in Event, Duties, Rewards, Vault, and Mailbox.

Key distinctions to remember

  • Duty completion is not token spending: complete the task, collect its token reward, then redeem tokens in Rewards.
  • Routine Duties are not ordinary Duties: they arrive weekly, remain after unlocking, and may advance the Vault.
  • The Vault is not the standard reward grid: it is a sequential track requiring three Routine Duties per reward and rotating with each Star Path.
  • DreamSnaps is not a Star Path currency loop: submit in Event, wait through voting, and claim the result from Mailbox.
  • The timer outranks old schedules: official materials provide useful dates and rules, but the live event page reflects the version currently running on your account.
