The LEGO–Pokémon partnership is real, and official LEGO Pokémon building sets have been announced. But that does not establish that a product advertised as a “LEGO Pokémon blind box” is an official, licensed product. The official announcements reviewed here identify building sets, not a blind-box range. Verify the exact item with LEGO or The Pokémon Company International before treating it as authentic.
What the official announcements establish
The LEGO Group and The Pokémon Company International announced a multi-year partnership on March 18, 2025, with LEGO Pokémon products planned from 2026. LEGO’s partnership announcement and The Pokémon Company International’s announcement confirm the partnership; neither, by itself, authenticates a particular item.
On January 12, 2026, LEGO announced its first LEGO Pokémon sets, including LEGO Pokémon Eevee and a Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise set. LEGO said those products would be available from February 27, 2026, through LEGO.com, LEGO Stores and selected retailers. Its first-set announcement describes building sets, not blind boxes.

A July 7, 2026, LEGO announcement named additional sets: Munchlax (72150), Arcanine (72160), Rayquaza (72168), Iconic Trainer Moments Poké Ball (72154) and Up-Scaled Red Minifigure (40868). These are also building sets; the announcement does not establish a blind-box format. See LEGO’s additional-set announcement.

How to check a purported blind box
- Look for the exact product identity. Search official LEGO and Pokémon product information for the product’s full name. A general partnership announcement or the presence of both brands’ names is not a product listing.
- Check the set number against the product name. If the packaging or seller gives a number, verify that the same number is attached to the same product in an official listing. A number printed on seller-created packaging is not proof on its own.
- Compare the stated format. The official products identified in the cited announcements are building sets. A seller’s claim that an item is a blind box describes a different format and needs its own official confirmation.
- Consider the sales channel, but do not treat it as proof. LEGO named LEGO.com, LEGO Stores and selected retailers for the first sets. A marketplace listing or other third-party offer still requires product-level verification; a seller’s presence on a marketplace does not establish licensing.
- Ask the rights holders about the exact item. If the product name or number cannot be matched to official information, contact LEGO or The Pokémon Company International with the seller’s listing and clear photos of the box, labels and any identifying numbers. Request confirmation of that specific product.
These checks can reveal mismatches, but they are not a definitive counterfeit test. LEGO’s product-copying brochure says the company opposes copying products and packaging intended to mislead buyers about origin. That general position does not certify any individual box.

LEGO or Pokémon logos, convincing packaging, a plausible set number or a seller’s licensing claim are not sufficient on their own to prove authenticity. They may be useful details to include when asking for confirmation, but the item needs to match official product information or be confirmed by a rights holder. The official announcements reviewed here do not provide a blind-box-specific authentication guide or identify a LEGO Pokémon blind-box range.

If you already bought one
- Save the listing, receipt and seller messages, and take clear photos of all sides of the packaging and any labels or numbers.
- Compare the item’s exact name, number and stated format with LEGO’s and Pokémon’s official information.
- If no exact match appears, ask LEGO or The Pokémon Company International to confirm the item. Do not rely on a logo or packaging appearance as a substitute for confirmation.
- If the seller represented it as officially licensed and you cannot verify that claim, contact the seller or marketplace about its return or dispute process while preserving your documentation.
