Press the Side/Power button and Volume Down together, then release after a brief moment. The screenshot is saved in Gallery; for a page longer than one screen, use Scroll capture from the screenshot toolbar when it appears.
Take a screenshot with the buttons
- Open the screen you want to capture.
- Press the Side/Power button and Volume Down at the same time, then release promptly.
- Look for the screen flash or screenshot preview to confirm the capture.
- Open Gallery > Albums > Screenshots to find the image.
Samsung’s A52 5G support page documents the Side and Volume Down combination. Its current general screenshot guidance also recommends pressing and releasing the Side/Power and Volume Down buttons briefly.
Use Palm swipe instead
If you prefer a gesture, swipe the edge of your hand across the screen. If it does not work, check whether Palm swipe to capture is available and enabled at Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures. Samsung’s A52 instructions and Canadian guidance describe this option. Menu names and availability can vary with software and device variant.

- Take a regular screenshot while viewing the page or app content that extends beyond the screen.
- When the screenshot toolbar appears, tap Scroll capture, commonly represented by downward arrows.
- Tap the control again to extend the capture as needed.
The scrolling control is offered when the content can scroll. The toolbar and its options may differ by settings or software version; see Samsung’s scroll capture guidance and US support page.

If the screenshot does not work
The buttons open a menu or do nothing
Press Side/Power and Volume Down together and release after a brief moment rather than holding them. If a bulky case obstructs access to either button, remove it temporarily and try again; Samsung Australia notes that cases can interfere with button access in its regional guidance.
Palm swipe is unavailable or ineffective
Look for Palm swipe to capture under Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures, and enable it if the setting is present. The feature and its label are not guaranteed to be identical on every software build or regional variant.

Scroll capture is missing
The current screen may not contain content beyond one screen, so the scrolling option may not be offered. The screenshot toolbar and options can also vary by settings and software.

Some apps and screens restrict screenshots for privacy or security, including protected locations such as banking apps. Samsung explains that restrictions can vary by provider, software, and model in its US guidance; its UK support page describes protected screens and security messages. Respect the restriction rather than trying to bypass it.
