Expect possible player contact at the Railyard Nomad Camp: a recent walkthrough describes the Railyard on Pendola Pass as a high-traffic area, although no measured encounter rate exists. Reach the underground camp from the western side toward the Transit Tunnel, use your live quest marker to resolve pipe-versus-passage differences, secure the Equatorial Sundial in a Safe Pocket if available, deliver it to the Old Town church, and extract without assuming any route or loadout is guaranteed safe.
What the Clean Hands run actually requires
The Nomad Camp is not a surface landmark. It is underground beneath the Railyard on Pendola Pass. The Clean Hands objective is a linked extraction run rather than a simple search:
- Enter the Nomad Camp beneath the Railyard.
- Search the camp for the Equatorial Sundial.
- Carry the Sundial to the church in Old Town.
- Extract while still retaining the objective item.
The October 9, 2026 walkthrough that calls the Railyard “high traffic” is giving a qualitative warning, not publishing a probability. There is no verified percentage for meeting another Raider, surviving the camp, or completing the run with a particular weapon. Plan for contact, but do not treat an encounter as inevitable or any tactic as proven optimal.

Start with the Pendola Pass Railyard
Use the Railyard on Pendola Pass as your surface reference. The camp is below that area, so searching buildings and tracks at ground level without checking the descent will waste time and expose you to more movement than necessary.

Approach from the western side
Recent location guidance places the access on the western side of the Railyard, toward the Transit Tunnel. Treat that as your orientation rather than as a promise that every map instance will display the same geometry. Move toward the Transit Tunnel side before committing to a descent.
Resolve the pipe-versus-passage discrepancy
Descriptions of the entrance vary: one guide refers to a pipe, while another describes a passage. These may be different views of the same approach or a result of map or patch changes. The reliable order of operations is:
- Move to the western Railyard and Transit Tunnel side.
- Look for the underground opening, including both a pipe-like entrance and a conventional passage.
- Check the live Clean Hands quest marker before entering.
If the physical landmark does not match a screenshot or written description, trust the marker attached to your current map instance. Do not force yourself through a location that is not marked or that appears blocked.

Allow for collision changes
Frozen Trail 2.0 launched Pendola Pass on October 8, 2026, and its official notes mention map collision and clipping issues. A visible obstruction, a slightly shifted opening, or a route that appears to intersect geometry can therefore be a version problem rather than a missed secret entrance. Re-check the marker and try the adjacent western approach instead of repeatedly jumping into a blocked surface.
Prepare without treating guide advice as a requirement
The walkthroughs recommend entering with a weapon and healing. Those are sensible preparations, but they are guide advice, not a stated Clean Hands mechanic or an official loadout requirement. Choose equipment you can use reliably while moving through confined underground spaces and while carrying an objective item.

A Safe Pocket is most valuable before the search, not after you have already exposed yourself inside the camp. If the feature is unavailable in your current setup, treat the Sundial as a normal carried objective and adjust your risk tolerance accordingly.
Use a low-exposure approach to the entrance
No source compares routes under controlled conditions, so the following is a practical sequence rather than a guaranteed safe path.

- Stop short of the western opening. Pause where you can observe the approach instead of sprinting directly into the pipe or passage. A short pause gives you time to identify movement, shots, or ARC audio.
- Verify the marker. Confirm that the Clean Hands marker points into the underground access. If it points elsewhere, reposition before descending.
- Enter with an exit in mind. Note the direction back toward the western Railyard. Knowing how to leave matters more once you are carrying the Sundial.
- Move in short sections. Underground spaces reduce sight lines. Advance from one piece of cover to the next, checking corners before crossing open sections.
- Do not spend all of your resources on the entrance. The objective continues to Old Town, and the highest-value item is not secured until extraction succeeds.
- Reassess after every sound or hit. A human Raider and an ARC machine create different problems. Confirm what is attacking before committing to a fight.
This approach favors information and a usable retreat over speed. A direct sprint may be faster when the area is empty, but there is no evidence that it produces better completion odds when the Railyard is occupied.
Survive contact with other Raiders
Player Raiders are the main reason the Railyard warning matters. “High traffic” means you should expect a greater chance of crossing another player than in a quiet location; it does not tell you how many players will be present, when they arrive, or how often they are hostile.
When you hear or see another player
- Break the open angle first. Move behind cover or around solid geometry before deciding whether to return fire.
- Keep the objective in mind. You are not required to eliminate every player to complete Clean Hands. If the opponent has not committed to a fight, disengagement may preserve the run.
- Do not reveal the entrance unnecessarily. Firing from the same exposed position can advertise both your location and the route into the camp.
- Use a retreat that you already identified. Backing toward a known exit is safer than improvising through unfamiliar tunnels while under pressure.
- Fight only from a position you can leave. A winning exchange that leaves you unable to reach Old Town is still a failed objective run.
When the other player is already engaging
Prioritize cover, a clear target, and an exit. Take a shot only when you can identify where the opponent is and where you will move afterward. If you are carrying the Sundial, avoid chasing a fleeing opponent into an area that takes you farther from the extraction sequence. No tested squad size, weapon, or playstyle is established as superior for this encounter.
When the camp appears occupied
You have three practical choices: wait for an opening, enter while accepting the possibility of contact, or leave and attempt the objective on another run. Waiting can reduce immediate exposure but gives another player more time to move through the same space. Entering keeps momentum but increases the chance of a close-range encounter. Leaving preserves your current inventory but abandons this attempt. These are risk trade-offs, not measured route rankings.

Pendola Pass also contains ARC enemies. The official Frozen Trail 2.0 materials identify the Bully, Skulker, and Hydra among the new threats, and the October 12 Trials announcement asks players to learn the Bully and Skulker’s tactics. Those machines are a different problem from a human Raider: the correct response depends on the machine’s behavior, while a player can change plans unpredictably.
The Bully
The official ARC Raiders preview dated September 23, 2026 gives this advice from the ARC Raiders team: Use cover, time your response, and hit your shots; the Bully is quick on its feet and unhinged in its quest.
Apply that sentence literally. Do not stand in the open trading damage with a fast machine. Use cover to break its line, wait for a controlled opening, and make your shots count.
The Skulker and Hydra
The available official material names these enemies but does not provide a complete camp-specific counter guide. Do not invent a weakness or assume that a tactic that works on the Bully works on either one. Use the machine’s audio, movement, attack timing, and in-game cues to decide whether to hide, reposition, or fight. The Trials announcement’s instruction to learn their tactics is a reminder to observe behavior rather than rely on a universal recipe.

When ARC pressure and PvP overlap
Do not tunnel-vision on a machine while another Raider has a line on you. Break sight lines, create distance from the machine if possible, and decide whether the objective is still recoverable. A fight against an ARC enemy can expose your position to players, while a player engagement can draw a machine into the same area. There is no source-backed guarantee that one threat will distract or defeat the other.
Secure the Equatorial Sundial
Search deliberately
Once inside the camp, follow the active marker and search the marked objective area rather than opening every container or wandering through unrelated tunnels. The item you need is the Equatorial Sundial. Keep your route back to the entrance in mind before interacting with it.
Use a Safe Pocket when available
The October 9 guide and October 8 walkthrough both recommend placing the Sundial in a Safe Pocket if your character has one available. This protects the item in some failure situations, but it is not described as immunity from every loss state, nor does it remove the need to complete the Old Town and extraction steps.
Re-plan after pickup
Picking up the Sundial changes the value of every decision. A fight that was optional on entry can now cost the quest item or the time needed to reach Old Town. Recheck your health, ammunition, marker, and retreat before leaving the camp.
Complete the Old Town and extraction leg
- Leave the camp by the route you identified on entry. Avoid an unfamiliar detour unless the marker requires it.
- Navigate to the Old Town church. The Clean Hands sequence requires taking the Sundial there before extraction.
- Keep the item through the transition. Do not treat the church visit as optional or assume that merely finding the Sundial completes the objective.
- Reassess for player and ARC contact on the way out. The high-traffic warning applies to the Railyard area, and Pendola Pass still contains ARC threats.
- Extract with the Sundial. The run is not complete until you successfully leave with the item according to the objective.
If a Safe Pocket was used, it remains a precaution rather than a substitute for extraction. Verify the objective state after the church step and again before committing to the final exit.

The marker does not point to the pipe shown in a guide
Use the marker for your current instance and search the western side toward the Transit Tunnel for a passage or pipe-like opening. Written descriptions differ, and Pendola Pass collision changes may alter what the entrance looks like.
You cannot find the underground access
Return to the Railyard surface reference, move west, and reacquire the Transit Tunnel orientation. Check whether the marker is above or below your current elevation. If a route appears clipped or physically blocked, try the adjacent approach rather than repeatedly forcing the same geometry.

Another Raider is holding the entrance
Do not assume the opponent will leave or that you must win a duel. Break line of sight, wait for a safer opening, disengage and retry, or accept the fight only from cover with a retreat available. None of these choices has a published success rate.
An ARC machine blocks the route
Identify the machine before acting. For a Bully, follow the official advice to use cover, time your response, and hit your shots. For the Skulker or Hydra, rely on observed behavior and in-game cues because the available material does not provide a complete counter sequence.
You found the Sundial but lost the run afterward
The objective is a chain: camp, Sundial, Old Town church, extraction. Finding the item alone is not completion. On the next attempt, reserve healing and attention for the return leg, and use a Safe Pocket if available.
The entrance appears to clip into the map
Frozen Trail 2.0 officially notes collision and clipping issues. Reconfirm the quest marker, test the nearby western geometry, and avoid assuming that a screenshot from an earlier map state is still exact.

Pendola Pass and its new ARC threats arrived with the official Frozen Trail 2.0 update on October 8, 2026. The update notes are useful for version context and for the warning about collision or clipping, but they do not verify a specific Nomad Camp route or provide a Raider encounter rate. The official September 23 preview supplies the Bully sentence, while the October 12 Trials announcement emphasizes learning the Bully and Skulker’s tactics. Walkthroughs dated October 8 and October 9 supply the Clean Hands sequence, camp orientation, high-traffic description, and Safe Pocket recommendation.
