To try to stop a B&H order, find it in your account’s Order History or use Guest Order Management, then contact B&H Customer Service promptly with the order number. Ask whether that specific order can still be canceled. B&H’s public help pages do not establish a universal cancellation button or a guaranteed cutoff by order status, so cancellation is not assured. If the item arrives, check whether it qualifies for a return instead.
How to request cancellation of a B&H order
- Find the order. If you placed it while signed in, open B&H Order History. B&H says the history can include purchases made online, by phone, or in a store. For a guest purchase, use the same page’s Guest Order Management: enter the email address used for the order and the order or quote number. B&H will email a link to view the details.
- Check the current status. B&H directs customers to Order History for order status. If you cannot see the order in your account, it may have been placed as a guest or by phone or in a store; use the guest lookup or the instructions for adding an offline order. Stock exceptions and backorders can also affect processing time. See B&H’s shipping and order-status guidance.
- Contact Customer Service promptly. Give the representative your order number and ask whether that particular order can still be canceled. B&H lists phone, live chat, and email options in its Help Center and contact page. The Help Center lists 800.221.5743; the contact page also lists 212.239.7765.
Do not assume that a particular status means cancellation will or will not be possible. The official pages cited here do not specify which statuses qualify or promise a pre-shipment cutoff; ask B&H to confirm the options for your order.
What if the B&H order has already shipped?
Contact Customer Service with the order number and ask what options remain for that shipment. The public guidance cited here does not say that shipment automatically makes cancellation impossible, nor does it guarantee that B&H can stop a shipment. If the order is delivered, the relevant option may be a return rather than a cancellation.

Why is there still a pending card charge?
B&H distinguishes a card authorization from a completed charge: its payment guidance says the authorization hold occurs when an order is placed, while the card is charged when the order is processed for shipping. A pending entry may therefore be an authorization rather than a completed charge.

If B&H voids the authorization, the issuing bank may take up to 72 business hours to release the hold, according to B&H’s payment page. That is a possible bank release delay, not a general refund deadline. If the hold remains after that period, B&H says you can contact your bank.
If the item arrives: check B&H’s return rules
B&H’s Return Policy allows eligible merchandise to be returned within 30 days of delivery, subject to product exclusions and condition requirements. This is a return window, not a cancellation guarantee.

- Returned merchandise generally must be new and in its original, unaltered box with all materials and accessories.
- B&H reserves the right to refuse a return or charge a minimum 15% restocking fee when the stated conditions are not met.
- Examples of excluded items include certain unwrapped large TVs or monitors, opened computers and software, electronic software downloads, unwrapped consumables, custom-built computers, special-order or marked nonreturnable items, submerged underwater equipment, and unwrapped educational tapes and books. Check the policy for the product-specific terms before sending anything back.
After receiving and inspecting a return, B&H says it will credit the account, generally to the original payment method, and asks customers to allow 5–7 days for the credit to appear. For an order paid by check, B&H says a refund check will be issued no sooner than 10 business days after purchase. These return-refund timings are separate from the bank’s release of a voided card authorization.
