On PS5, open the PlayStation Store page for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, choose Game Trial, and follow the prompts to subscribe, download, and launch it. PlayStation’s US listing describes a three-hour full-game trial for PlayStation Plus Premium members. The offer began on October 7, 2026; PlayStation has not published a universal end date, so check your local store before relying on its availability.

What the MARVEL Tōkon trial includes

This is a PlayStation 5 Game Trial of the full game, not the separate July open beta. The official US PlayStation Store listing describes three hours of access and identifies PlayStation Plus Premium as the required membership tier. PlayStation’s October 7, 2026 announcement also says the three-hour Game Trial started that day.

Detail What is established
Platform PS5. The game is also listed for PC, but the official materials reviewed do not establish a PC trial.
Access type A full-game Game Trial offered through the PlayStation Store.
Play time Three hours, according to the US listing and the October 7 PlayStation announcement.
US membership requirement PlayStation Plus Premium.
Launch date October 7, 2026.
End date Not stated in the official materials cited here. The live regional store page is the authority for current availability.
Progress transfer PlayStation’s listing does not state whether trial progress carries into a purchased copy. Do not assume that it does.

The announcement uses the broader phrase PlayStation Plus subscribers, while the US product page names Premium. Treat the store page for your account’s country as decisive: tier names and eligibility can differ by region.

What you need before you start

  • A PS5 connected to the internet.
  • A PlayStation Network account with access to the PlayStation Store.
  • A store region in which the Game Trial is currently offered.
  • The PlayStation Plus tier required by your local listing. In the United States, the cited listing specifies PlayStation Plus Premium.
  • Enough console storage to download the trial. The official materials do not state a download size, so check the size shown on your PS5 before confirming.

You do not need an arcade stick or leverless controller. PlayStation confirms that PS5-compatible versions of those controllers work with the game, but a standard DualSense controller is sufficient to begin the trial.

How to start the trial on PS5

  1. Open PlayStation Store. From the PS5 home screen, open the Store and search for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Select the PS5 game page rather than a PC listing or unrelated result.
  2. Locate the trial offer. On the product page, look for the option labeled Game Trial. The US listing identifies this offer as a three-hour full-game trial.
  3. Check the membership prompt. If your account does not have the required tier, the Store will present a subscription prompt. In the United States, the listing says PlayStation Plus Premium is required. Review the recurring price and renewal terms shown for your region before confirming.
  4. Accept the Store prompts. Follow the on-screen instructions to subscribe if necessary and add the trial to your account. Exact button wording can vary with region, account status, and current Store design.
  5. Download the trial. Start the download from the product page or the destination the Store presents. Keep the PS5 online until the installation finishes.
  6. Launch the game. Open it from the PS5 home screen, Game Library, or the Store page. The trial timer is limited to three hours, so start only when you are ready to play.

If you already have the game installed, still select the Game Trial entry on the Store page. The Store must associate the trial entitlement with your account; simply launching an unrelated installation does not establish that entitlement.

If the Game Trial option is missing

Confirm the platform and product page

Search for the PS5 version and open its product page. The cited offer is attached to the PS5 listing. Do not infer that a PC purchase page should show the same trial.

Check the account’s store region

Availability, tier names, and presentation are regional. The US page is evidence for the US offer, not a guarantee that every country uses the Premium name or carries the same promotion. If the option is absent, inspect the local listing while signed into the account that will play.

Verify membership eligibility

The US listing requires PlayStation Plus Premium. A lower tier may not unlock this particular offer. The Store should show the requirement before you subscribe; read that panel rather than relying on a generic reference to PlayStation Plus.

Check the date and current listing

The trial started October 7, 2026, but no universal closing date is published in the official materials cited here. A missing option can therefore mean that the promotion is unavailable in your region or has ended there. Use the live listing for the current status.

Refresh the Store path

Close the Store, reopen it, and search again from the product page instead of using an old home-screen tile. If the offer remains absent, confirm that you are signed into the intended PlayStation Network account and that the console is online. Do not purchase the full game merely to test whether a hidden trial will appear.

Do you need PlayStation Plus to play MARVEL Tōkon?

There are two separate questions: whether Plus is needed for this promotional trial, and whether it is needed for the full game after purchase.

For the Game Trial

Yes, a qualifying membership is part of the offer. PlayStation’s US listing names PlayStation Plus Premium and the announcement describes a three-hour Game Trial for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Because regional catalogs can differ, verify the exact tier displayed in your Store.

For the purchased game’s offline content

PlayStation’s FAQ says offline modes on PS5 do not require PlayStation Plus. If you buy the game, you can use its offline content without maintaining Plus.

For online modes

PlayStation says PS5 online modes require an internet connection and PlayStation Plus. This requirement applies to online services, not to the offline access rule above. It also does not change the fact that the trial itself has its own membership condition.

Use case Internet PlayStation Plus
Starting the Store trial Required to access the Store and download it. Required according to the local offer; the US listing specifies Premium.
Playing purchased offline content Not required for offline modes, according to PlayStation’s FAQ. Not required for offline modes.
Playing purchased PS5 online modes Required. Required, according to PlayStation’s FAQ.

Trial or full-game purchase?

The trial is useful when you want a short hands-on session before deciding whether to buy. A purchase is the route for continued access after the three-hour allowance. The official materials list paid editions but do not provide a universal price in the information cited here, so use the price shown by your regional Store.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Decision point Game Trial Full-game purchase
Access period Three hours, as stated by PlayStation’s US listing and October 7 announcement. Continued ownership access under the edition and account terms shown by the Store.
Up-front requirement Qualifying PlayStation Plus membership; US listing: Premium. Purchase of a listed game edition. The cited materials do not state a single worldwide price.
Offline play Limited by the trial offer and its entitlement. Offline modes do not require Plus, according to PlayStation’s FAQ.
Online play Requires internet and the applicable Plus entitlement. Requires internet and PlayStation Plus for PS5 online modes, according to PlayStation’s FAQ.
Progress after buying Carry-over is not stated by the official listing. Do not buy on the assumption that trial progress will transfer unless the Store or publisher explicitly confirms it.

How to use the three hours well

Because the allowance is short, decide what you want to learn before launching. You might use the opening session to test basic movement and combat, then spend the remaining time checking the modes that matter most to your purchase decision. Avoid leaving the game paused while doing something else: the official description gives a three-hour trial, but it does not explain every timer behavior or whether suspended play affects the allowance.

Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls (PS5) - Intense 4v4 combat, anime style, tactical mechanic, voice acting story.
  • GRAPHYC STYLE: The game combines Marvel's iconic characters with a distinctive anime-stylized visual presentation. The colourful and unique graphics offer a new experience for both anime and Marvel fans, making the game stand out in comparison to other titles within the same genre.
  • STRATEGIC GAME: Focusing on 4v4 battles, the game offers in-depth tactical mechanics. Players must use the unique abilities and synergies of their heroes to outlast opponents, which require both strategic thinking and quick decision making to succeed on the battlefield.
  • VERSATILE OF CHARACTERISTICS: A wide selection of Marvel legendary characters are available, giving gamers freedom to pick their favourite heroes and villains. Each character has their own unique abilities and playing styles, which offer variety and customization in each game.
  • STORY MODE: The game includes a full voice-acting story mode available in 10 different languages. This brings a deeper and more engaging experience, where gamers can enjoy a rich and multi-faceted story with their favorite characters.
  • MULTIPLE AVAILABILITY: By offering the story mode in ten different languages, the game has a wide international appeal. This makes it more accessible to a global audience and allows more players to enjoy the game's story and characters in their native language.
  • Set up your controller and display before starting the trial.
  • Choose a manageable first objective so that menus and configuration do not consume the entire session.
  • Test the type of content you expect to play most often, such as offline fighting or online features, while remembering that online modes have separate Plus and internet requirements.
  • Note your play time yourself. PlayStation confirms the three-hour allowance but does not document a universal warning schedule in the cited materials.
  • Record any settings or control changes you want to reproduce if you later purchase the game.

What happens when the trial time is used?

PlayStation defines the offer as a three-hour Game Trial. The cited listing and announcement do not specify the exact lockout screen, whether the game closes automatically, or how the Store handles a purchase after the allowance is consumed. Treat the three hours as the complete trial entitlement and use the Store’s purchase option if you decide to continue. Do not assume that uninstalling and reinstalling resets the allowance.

The same official materials do not establish whether saved data, settings, or progress transfer to a purchased edition. Keep that uncertainty in mind when deciding how much time to invest in customization or story progress.

Regional, date, and platform limitations

Regional tier names

The US listing says PlayStation Plus Premium. Other markets may use a different name or present the offer differently. A statement that Premium is required worldwide would overstate the evidence; check the local product page tied to your account.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Offer duration

The start date is established as October 7, 2026. No end date is established in the cited official sources. If you plan to wait, revisit the Store rather than assuming the offer will remain available.

PS5 versus PC

The trial instructions apply to the PS5 Store listing. Although MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is also listed for PC, the official materials reviewed do not confirm a PC Game Trial. Do not purchase a PC edition expecting the PS5 promotion to follow it.

Optional controller support

PlayStation confirms support for PS5-compatible arcade sticks and leverless controllers. These are optional accessories for players who prefer that control style; they are not prerequisites for subscribing, downloading, or launching the trial. Verify that any accessory is compatible with PS5 before connecting it, because the official compatibility statement does not identify a particular model or guarantee support for every device.

A practical troubleshooting checklist

  1. No Game Trial label: Reopen the PS5 product page, confirm the PS5 version, and check the local Store region.
  2. Membership rejected: Read the tier named by the Store. In the US, the cited listing specifies Premium; a different tier may not qualify.
  3. Download will not begin: Confirm the console is online, check available storage, and retry from the product page after reopening the Store.
  4. Trial appears on another account: Make sure the account that owns the entitlement is the one signed into the Store. The official materials do not describe account-sharing behavior, so do not assume another profile can use the offer.
  5. Trial absent after the announcement date: October 7, 2026 is the start date, not a promise of permanent availability. Check whether the promotion is active in your country.
  6. Online mode unavailable: Confirm both internet access and PlayStation Plus. PlayStation’s FAQ distinguishes online requirements from offline play.
  7. Considering a purchase: Check the edition, local price, and any progress-transfer statement shown by the Store. The cited listing does not promise carry-over.
