Tormented Souls 2 is solved by treating every pickup as a clue, tool component, or information source rather than as a simple key. Examine and manipulate objects, combine parts into usable tools, then test the result in the room or mechanism that logically matches it. The most commonly reported solutions below cover the Convent, School, and Processing Plant, including the frozen-hand Cryptex, prison-cell power box, animal figures, combination locks, Warehouse mirror, incinerator valves, and Dining Room portraits.
The game was developed by Dual Effect, published by PQube, and released on October 23, 2025. Its official store description emphasizes examining, manipulating, and combining items, then connecting objects to the environment. That design explains why a puzzle can remain unsolved even when you possess the correct item: it may need to be transformed first, or used in a different room.
How puzzle solving and inventory management work
Survival-horror puzzles in Tormented Souls 2 usually have three layers: identify what the clue represents, prepare the correct inventory object, and use that object at the intended environmental target. A pickup can be a finished tool, one half of a tool, a clue that only becomes legible after inspection, or a component that must be taken somewhere else before it matters.
1. Inspect every unusual object
Open the inventory examination view whenever an item has moving parts, a marked surface, a symbol, or a description that sounds incomplete. Rotate or manipulate it if the interface allows that action. This is not cosmetic: hidden information can identify the order of pieces, a direction, or the room in which the item belongs.

2. Combine components before searching for another key
When two objects appear to share a purpose, try combining them. The Convent’s Sawblade and Saw Handle are the model example: neither solves the frozen-hand problem alone, but together they produce a Handsaw. The resulting tool changes what can be done in the environment.
3. Revisit locations after an item changes state
A newly created or heated item can be more important than the object you originally picked up. After the Handsaw cuts the frozen hand, heating that hand produces a Cryptex. The Cryptex is not used as a conventional key; it contains a second inventory puzzle that yields the Crown Key.
4. Read environmental clues as instructions
Numbers, clocks, signs, portraits, and room props often describe an action rather than provide a password. The Warehouse mirror’s 03:45:20 is interpreted as positions on a clock face, while the incinerator sign indicates valve orientation. If a clue looks like a diagram, ask what physical action it represents.
5. Record state, location, and possible targets
Keep a short note with each unresolved item: its name, any symbols or text, where it was found, and rooms containing a matching mechanism. This prevents repeated searches and makes backtracking deliberate. Do not discard a seemingly obsolete component until a combined object has been created and tested.

These are guide-reported solutions from walkthrough coverage, not claims of personal testing. If you prefer to solve unaided, use the following sections as hints first and reveal the exact sequence only when your own interpretation is exhausted.
Convent puzzles
Frozen hand, stove, Cryptex, and Crown Key
What the clue is asking: the frozen hand cannot be collected or used until you create a cutting tool. Afterward, the hand must be thawed in a controlled way, and the resulting object contains a combination puzzle.
Rank #2
Hint: search the gallows and Refectory for two parts of one tool. The freezer hand is only the first stage; look for a lit cooking appliance after you free it.
Exact solution:
- Find the Sawblade at the gallows.
- Find the Saw Handle behind the movable shelf in the Refectory.
- Combine the Sawblade and Saw Handle in the inventory to create a Handsaw.
- Go to the Kitchen freezer and use the Handsaw on the frozen hand.
- Light a stove with the Lighter.
- Use the recovered Frozen Hand on the hot burner. This produces the Cryptex.
- Arrange the Cryptex pieces from left to right as Knight, Rook, Bishop, Queen, King, Pawn, Knight.
- Take the Crown Key revealed by the opened Cryptex.
If the Handsaw option does not appear, confirm that both components are in the inventory and that you are combining them rather than trying to use one directly on the freezer. If the burner interaction fails, the stove must be lit first; carrying the Lighter is not the same as activating the appliance.
Prison-cell power box
What the clue is asking: the cells need power restored through a wired box, followed by a lever action in the cell-room. The dials are directional, so the order matters from left to right.
Exact solution:
- Use the Pliers on the wire to open the power box.
- Set the five dials, reading left to right, to Right, Left, Left, Left, Right.
- Move to the prison-cell room and activate the lever.
A frequent mistake is entering the directions correctly but stopping at the box. The lever is a separate trigger and must be activated after the dials are set.
School puzzles
Science Lab animal figures
The Science Lab stand uses four animal figures. Place them in this order: Hawk, Snake, Toad, Fly. Treat the arrangement as a fixed left-to-right sequence; rotating or rearranging the pieces without preserving that order will not solve the stand.

Director’s Office combination key
Set the Combination Key in the Director’s Office to Female Symbol, Cross, Moon. These are symbols, not words, so select the matching pictograms on the key rather than looking for alphabetic characters.
Computer Lab locker
Use Sun, Heart, Man Symbol on the Computer Lab locker. The final symbol is the male/man symbol, which is distinct from the female symbol used in the Director’s Office.
When moving between the two locks, avoid assuming that one solved combination carries over to the other. They use different three-symbol sequences, and the School’s symbol vocabulary is deliberately similar enough to invite that mistake.
Processing Plant puzzles
Warehouse mirror and candle clock
The Warehouse mirror displays 03:45:20. Read it as a clock-position clue, not as a time to enter into a keypad. The candle positions to light are 3, 9, and 4.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Inspect the mirror and note the displayed sequence.
- Map the relevant numbers to positions around the candle arrangement as though it were a clock face.
- Light the candles at positions 3, 9, and 4.
If the puzzle does not advance, check that you used the numbered positions rather than the digits in chronological order. The clue points to spatial positions, so the candles are the mechanism being solved.
Incinerator valve puzzle
Set all valves vertically. A reported interaction order is: bottom left, top middle, bottom middle, middle left, middle right, top right, top left, bottom left.
- Identify the full valve panel and orient each valve vertically.
- Interact in this order: bottom left; top middle; bottom middle; middle left; middle right; top right; top left; bottom left.
- Confirm that the mechanism advances before leaving the room.
The repeated bottom-left position at the beginning and end is intentional in the reported sequence. If one valve was moved away from vertical while correcting another, reset the panel and repeat the entire order instead of trying to infer a partial repair.

Dining Room portraits and the Mechanical Jack
Each portrait depicts an action. Perform the corresponding action in front of that portrait rather than treating the pictures as a conventional symbol code.
Recommended Free Tools
| Portrait depiction | Action to perform |
|---|---|
| Picture aimed at a cow | Aim the Crossbow at the cow-targeting picture |
| Lantern picture | Hold the Lighter at the lantern picture |
| Spinning-girl picture | Spin using the tank controls |
| Forging picture | Strike it with the Hammer |
Complete all four actions to obtain the Mechanical Jack. If one portrait remains inactive, compare the action you performed with the exact image: the solution is based on the depicted behavior, not simply on using every tool once anywhere in the room.

Hint-first play
Use the clue interpretation and target-room descriptions without reading the ordered inputs. For example, knowing that 03:45:20 represents clock positions preserves the Warehouse deduction while leaving the candle sequence for you to derive. This approach is best when you want the intended “aha” moment but do not want to waste resources on repeated attempts.
Direct solution play
Use the exact sequences when an incorrect attempt risks consuming time, when you are replaying an area, or when you have already identified the mechanism and only need confirmation. The tables above separate the answer from the explanation so you can stop reading as soon as the obstruction is cleared.
Area-specific walkthroughs
Walkthrough hubs reported for the game divide coverage into Convent Part 1 and Part 2, Commercial District, Butcher Shop, Mall, Processing Plant, Cemetery, School, Church, and Bunker. Choose the smallest area section that contains your current room. An area-specific route limits spoilers and reduces unnecessary backtracking compared with reading a full-game solution from the beginning.

- Check the item state: a raw component may need to be combined, heated, cut, or otherwise manipulated before the target accepts it.
- Check the interaction location: the correct object can fail in the wrong room. The Cryptex comes from the heated hand, not directly from the freezer.
- Check the complete sequence: directional dials, symbols, and figure orders are read left to right unless the mechanism clearly indicates another orientation.
- Check prerequisite tools: the power box requires Pliers on the wire, and the frozen-hand route requires both saw components before the Handsaw exists.
- Check the final trigger: some puzzles have a follow-up lever or action. The prison box is not complete until the cell-room lever is activated.
- Reset rather than patch: for the incinerator, return all valves to vertical and repeat the full reported interaction order if the panel is in an uncertain state.
- Inspect visual wording: symbols that look similar can represent different entries; the School locks distinguish Female Symbol from Man Symbol.
A practical inventory routine
- On pickup, inspect. Note movable parts, markings, symbols, and any description suggesting a second function.
- Group related objects. Keep possible tool components together in your notes instead of testing every item against every door.
- Try a sensible combination. Pair objects with a shared physical purpose, such as a blade and handle.
- Test the transformed item. Search rooms whose machinery, body parts, heat sources, or containers match what the new object can affect.
- Write down environmental data. Preserve exact numbers such as 03:45:20 and exact orientations such as vertical; do not rely on memory.
- Mark completed mechanisms. Record that a lock, lever, or panel has been triggered so you do not repeat solved interactions during backtracking.
- Escalate hints gradually. First identify the clue’s meaning, then reveal the target location, and only then use the exact sequence.
This routine follows the game’s central design: examine, manipulate, combine, and connect an inventory object to the environment. It also explains why carrying many items is not itself a problem; the important distinction is whether each item has been inspected and assigned a likely purpose.
What to remember before using a solution list
The sequences in this guide are reported by third-party walkthroughs. Room layouts, interaction prompts, and puzzle states can be affected by your progress, so confirm that you are looking at the named mechanism before applying an answer. Release metadata identifies Tormented Souls 2 as a Dual Effect and PQube title released on October 23, 2025; platform menus and availability can change over time.
For the fastest reliable progress, identify the clue type first: a combination puzzle needs an ordered set, an environmental puzzle needs a physical interpretation, and an inventory puzzle needs an item transformation. Once that classification is clear, use the corresponding sequence above and perform any separate follow-up trigger. This avoids random trial-and-error while preserving the game’s intended connections between objects and rooms.
