To solve Ghost Hunt Puzzle #9, enter the Haunted Floating Festival, find 10 ghosts around the festival grounds, and photograph each one with Disney Dreamlight Valley’s in-game camera. Every ghost disappears after a successful photograph. Once all 10 are gone, the game awards a new Ghost furniture item.
The Ghost Hunt becomes available on October 18, 2026. The Haunted Floating Festival is scheduled to run from October 7 through October 31, 2026, so the puzzle must be completed while the event remains active.
Ghost Hunt Puzzle #9 requirements
Gameloft’s October 7, 2026 event announcement identifies this puzzle as a 10-ghost photography hunt. You do not need a physical camera, special equipment, or an external guide item. The required tool is the camera already included in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to complete the puzzle
- Enter the Haunted Floating Festival. Open the event menu and select the festival, or travel through the Plaza portal. Gameloft lists both routes as ways to access the event area.
- Wait until Ghost Hunt is unlocked. Puzzle #9 starts on October 18, 2026. If the hunt does not appear before that date, the puzzle is not available yet.
- Search the festival grounds. Walk through every connected part of the event area and watch for ghost apparitions. The documented objective is to locate 10 ghosts.
- Equip and activate the in-game camera. Aim at a ghost and take its photograph. A successful capture makes that ghost disappear, which is the clearest immediate confirmation that it counted.
- Repeat the process for all 10 ghosts. Continue exploring after each disappearance rather than assuming the area is complete. Check the puzzle progress counter whenever one capture registers.
- Collect the completion reward. After the tenth ghost has been photographed, Ghost Hunt Puzzle #9 is complete and the event grants the Ghost furniture item.
How to search efficiently when locations are unclear
The official announcement confirms the number of ghosts and the photography mechanic, but it does not publish a numbered location list. A Nux guide also indicated that individual locations would be added once the puzzle became available, so no fixed route can be confirmed in advance.

Use a systematic sweep instead of crossing the same ground randomly:
- Choose one edge of the festival grounds and move in a single direction.
- Check open spaces, corners, paths, and areas behind large scenery before moving to the next section.
- Photograph every ghost you see immediately; the disappearance prevents you from counting it twice.
- After each capture, verify that the puzzle counter advanced.
- When the counter is short of 10, revisit connected sections rather than leaving the event area.
This sweep pattern is practical gameplay advice based on the requirement to search the grounds; it is not a published list of fixed spawn points. Ghost positions may therefore require visual searching rather than following a guaranteed sequence.

Troubleshooting a capture that does not count
The ghost remains visible
If a ghost does not disappear, the photograph probably did not register. Reposition your character, keep the apparition fully in frame, and take another picture with the camera active.
The progress total does not change
Use the disappearance as the primary confirmation. If the ghost remains and the counter does not increase, treat that attempt as unsuccessful and photograph the apparition again from a closer or clearer angle.

Ghost Hunt is missing
Check the calendar first: the puzzle unlocks October 18, 2026. If it is already available but the event cannot be entered, use the event menu or the Plaza portal and confirm that the Haunted Floating Festival itself is still running. The scheduled end date is October 31, 2026.
You have fewer than 10 captures
Return to every connected portion of the festival grounds and repeat the sweep. Because a verified numbered location list is not available, the safest approach is to search the entire area and watch the counter after each successful photograph.

What you receive for finishing Ghost Hunt Puzzle #9
Photographing all 10 ghosts sends them away and awards a new Ghost furniture item for your Valley. The available event information confirms the furniture reward but does not name a more specific item title or provide additional reward variants.
