Yes. A Samsung Galaxy phone can share a saved Wi-Fi network by showing a QR code. The phone displaying the code must already be connected to that network; a guest scans the code to join without typing the password. Samsung documents this on most modern Galaxy devices, but availability and menu labels can vary by model and software.
Share a connected Wi-Fi network with a QR code
- Open Settings and tap Connections.
- Tap Wi-Fi and make sure your Galaxy is connected to the network you want to share.
- Tap the gear or settings icon beside that network.
- Tap QR code to display the code.
- Have the guest scan it with a compatible phone and follow the prompt to connect.
Samsung’s Singapore instructions describe this process as a way for the recipient to connect without entering the password manually: Samsung Singapore: How to share your Wi-Fi password on a Galaxy phone. Samsung Gulf lists S24, S25, S26, Z Fold, Z Flip, and A series examples and says the feature is available on most modern Galaxy devices: Samsung Gulf: How to share your Wi-Fi password on a Galaxy phone. Check your own phone, since support and labels may differ.
Choose the method that fits the guest and phone

The contact-based method appears in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 European user manual. It is a model- and software-specific option, not a universal replacement for the QR workflow.

- Confirm the sender is still connected. Samsung’s guidance says the Galaxy displaying the code should be connected to the intended Wi-Fi network.
- Check the guest device. Samsung warns that older Android software may not support connecting through a Wi-Fi QR code. The phone also needs a camera or compatible scanner that can act on the code.
- Consider network restrictions. Router security settings or other network restrictions may prevent a guest device from joining even when the code is displayed.
- Try Samsung’s suggested troubleshooting. Samsung advises checking the connection and, if needed, restarting the router. These are its suggestions, not a guarantee that the issue will be fixed.
Menu names and placement can change with Galaxy model and software version, so if you do not see QR code, check the connected network’s details screen for a sharing option.

Wi-Fi router sharing is different from a mobile-hotspot QR code
The QR code in the Wi-Fi network settings shares access to a router network the Galaxy is already using. The Galaxy Z Fold6 manual also describes displaying a QR code on the phone’s Mobile Hotspot screen so another device can join the phone’s mobile-data hotspot. That is a separate feature and does not share the password for the household router.

Displaying a QR code is a convenient alternative to reading or typing a password, but treat it as a way of granting network access: show it only to people you want connected. Samsung Gulf describes encrypted network details in the code, but the cited documentation does not independently establish how that encoding works or its security properties.
