To set an XRP price alert, open the XRP asset or the exact XRP trading pair in your exchange, choose a supported price condition, enter your target, save the alert, and allow notifications on your phone or computer. Volume alerts are different: the exchange instructions covered here provide price, percentage-change, or volatility notifications, while a traded-volume threshold is normally created as a technical-indicator alert in a charting tool such as TradingView.

Confirm that your account and region offer the XRP market you want before creating anything. An alert is a notification rule, not a prediction and not an order; you still decide whether and how to trade after receiving it.

What an XRP alert can monitor

“XRP alert” can mean several different conditions. Selecting the right one prevents a useful signal from being confused with a completely different measurement.

Price-level alerts

A price-level alert fires when XRP reaches a target, rises above it, or falls below it. Depending on the platform, the condition may be labelled “Price reaches,” “Price rises above,” “Price drops to,” “Above,” or “Below.” The target applies to the selected market, so XRP quoted in US dollars is not the same market as XRP quoted in another currency or stablecoin.

Percentage-change and volatility alerts

Some exchanges offer a percentage move over a period, such as a 24-hour rise or fall. Kraken also documents volatility notices for favorited markets that show 24-hour percentage movement and the current price. These conditions describe price behavior; they do not measure how many XRP or contracts were traded.

Volume-threshold alerts

A volume alert asks whether the volume indicator on a chart is above or below a chosen value. The value is the volume for each chart bar, not a universal daily total. A threshold on a five-minute chart therefore answers a different question from the same number on a four-hour chart. The exchange help pages reviewed for this guide do not document a native, configurable traded-volume threshold in their standard price-alert flows.

Check these prerequisites first

  • Choose the market: Search for XRP and verify the exact quote-currency pair available to your account. Market lists vary by region, account type, and platform.
  • Use the documented app or web surface: Binance’s mobile price-alert feature is available in Binance Pro. Coinbase’s documented flow is in its mobile app. Kraken supports web, mobile, and Kraken Desktop controls.
  • Allow notifications: Enable push, browser, email, or desktop notifications both inside the service and in your operating-system or browser settings.
  • Decide the condition and lifetime: Check whether the rule is one-time or recurring, what frequency options exist, and when the alert expires.
  • For volume, select the interval deliberately: The chart interval determines what one volume bar represents, so record the interval alongside your threshold.

Plan the rule before tapping Save

Start by writing the question the alert should answer. “Notify me when XRP/USDC is above my target” calls for a price condition. “Notify me if XRP moves more than a specified percentage” calls for a percentage or volatility condition. “Notify me when one 15-minute bar exceeds a volume level” calls for a Volume-indicator rule on a chart.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Next, confirm the quote currency and market name. Two markets can show different prices, and an alert attached to one pair will not monitor another pair merely because both contain XRP. If the pair is unavailable, do not substitute an unrelated market without recording that decision.

Finally, check delivery and lifecycle settings before saving. A platform can store a rule while your phone, browser, or desktop blocks its notification. Note the selected frequency and expiration date, especially when the service imposes a fixed lifetime. A quick, non-critical test notification can confirm that the route works before you rely on a major price level.

Set an XRP price alert in Binance

Binance’s support article was published on February 17, 2022, and updated January 6, 2026. It documents price alerts in Binance Pro on mobile and alert creation in the desktop app.

Binance Pro mobile steps

  1. Open the Binance app and switch to Binance Pro if the Pro interface is not already active.
  2. Open Markets.
  3. Search for and select the XRP trading pair you actually want to monitor. Do not assume that the first XRP result uses your preferred quote currency.
  4. Tap Alert.
  5. Choose the alert type. Available examples include Price reaches, Price rises above, Price drops to, percentage change over or under a value, and 24-hour percentage change.
  6. Enter the target value and choose the trigger frequency offered by the app.
  7. Tap Create Alert.
  8. In your phone’s system settings, allow Binance notifications. Without that permission, the rule can exist while no push message appears.

Binance desktop steps

  1. Open the Binance desktop app and select Alerts.
  2. Click Create Alert.
  3. Choose the XRP trading pair, alert type, target, and frequency.
  4. Create the alert, then enable desktop notifications in the operating-system settings.

Binance limits and expiry

Binance states a maximum of 10 alerts for one trading pair and 50 alerts in total. Each alert is valid for 90 days. Treat these as configuration limits, not as guarantees about delivery speed or market movement. When an alert expires, create a new one if you still need it.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choosing the Binance condition

Use Price reaches when you want an alert at a stated level, and use the directional choices when the wording “above” or “below” matters to you. A percentage-change rule answers a different question from a fixed price: it follows the size of a move rather than one absolute quote. The 24-hour percentage option also uses a time-based comparison, so label the alert clearly to avoid mistaking it for a price target.

If Binance refuses a new rule, review both limits: count the existing alerts for that pair and the total across the account. Also check whether an older rule has reached its 90-day validity rather than assuming it remains active indefinitely.

Set an XRP price alert in Coinbase

Coinbase’s documented process uses its mobile app and requires the asset to be on a watchlist.

Coinbase mobile steps

  1. Search for XRP and select the asset page.
  2. Tap the star to add XRP to your watchlist.
  3. Tap the bell-plus icon.
  4. Choose Add Alert.
  5. Select whether the alert should fire when price is above or below the target, then enter the target value.
  6. Tap Save.

Choose delivery methods

  1. Open Account & Settings.
  2. Go to Notification Settings.
  3. For exchange-provided thresholds, select Price Alerts. For your own rules, select Custom Alerts.
  4. Enable any combination of push, in-app, and email notifications.

Coinbase says only watchlisted assets send these alerts. Its help documentation also states that the alerts are informational and do not place an order for the asset, so a notification does not reserve XRP or execute a purchase or sale.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Keep XRP on the watchlist for as long as you need the rule. If you remove the star, change accounts, or change notification choices, revisit the alert screen and Notification Settings rather than assuming the previous delivery setup still applies. Coinbase’s documented instructions do not state the same numeric alert caps or 90-day lifetime that Binance does, so check the active-alert list in your account.

Set an XRP price or volatility alert in Kraken

Kraken provides alert controls on the web, in its mobile app, and in Kraken Desktop. The exact labels can differ by surface, so confirm that the selected market is XRP and that the trigger is the one you intend.

Kraken web steps

  1. Open the Alerts widget.
  2. Enable browser notifications when prompted.
  3. Create a new alert.
  4. Choose the XRP market and the trigger parameters.
  5. Enter the price and create the alert.

Kraken mobile steps

  1. Open the Markets page and tap the bell, or long-press a market or open order to reach its alert controls.
  2. Choose the XRP market, trigger parameters, and target price.
  3. Create the alert.
  4. Enable push notifications at both levels: your device’s notification settings and the settings inside Kraken Pro.

Kraken Desktop shortcuts and volatility notices

Kraken Desktop can create an alert quickly by clicking the chart’s price axis when that option is enabled, or by using the Alerts panel. Kraken also describes volatility alerts for favorited markets. Those notices report 24-hour percentage price movement and current price; they are not a traded-volume threshold.

Existing Kraken alerts can be viewed, edited, or deleted. Review the list after saving so an old target does not remain active unintentionally.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Separate price and volatility on Kraken

A price trigger asks whether the selected market has reached the number you entered. A volatility notice summarizes movement over the documented 24-hour period for a favorited market. If your goal is to detect heavier trading activity, neither label is a substitute for a volume-indicator condition. Read the trigger summary in the alert panel before confirming it.

Why volume alerts usually use a charting tool

The exchange instructions covered here document native price, percentage-change, or volatility notifications. They do not establish a configurable traded-volume threshold in those standard flows. A charting service can calculate the Volume indicator for each bar and evaluate a condition against that value, which is a different mechanism from watching an exchange’s price field.

Keep the market identity in view when doing this. An XRP chart from one venue may not have the same activity profile as an XRP pair on another venue. If you use a reference market, record its venue and quote currency in the alert name so the notification is not mistaken for activity on your execution exchange.

Create an XRP volume-spike alert with a chart indicator

When an exchange does not expose a volume threshold, use a charting service that supports technical-indicator alerts. TradingView’s documented workflow lets you select an XRP chart, apply the Volume indicator, and create an alert from that indicator.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Configure the chart

  1. Open an XRP chart and select the same market or a clearly identified reference market you intend to monitor.
  2. Choose the chart interval, such as five minutes, one hour, or one day. The interval controls the period represented by each volume bar.
  3. Add or display the Volume indicator.
  4. Open the alert-creation control for the indicator rather than creating an alert on the XRP price line.
  5. Enter the volume level and choose the notification channels offered by your account.

Use “Greater than” for an above-threshold rule

TradingView specifically recommends the Greater than condition when you need to know that volume is above a level. A Crossing condition can fire at the opening of a new candle because the new candle’s volume starts near zero. That opening event may not represent the intuitive moment when the completed or developing bar exceeded your threshold.

Interpret the threshold correctly

  • A threshold of 100,000 on a five-minute chart means the volume of one five-minute bar exceeded 100,000 in the indicator’s units.
  • The same threshold on a one-hour chart refers to one hour of activity and will usually describe a different level of market participation.
  • Changing the interval after creating the rule can change what the indicator measures. Recheck the alert after changing chart settings.
  • A volume spike is an activity signal, not proof that price will rise or fall. Combine it with your own risk and market analysis.

Pair the operator with the interval

Write both pieces into the rule description, for example “XRP, 15-minute Volume greater than 100,000.” That makes it easier to spot an accidental interval change. “Greater than” is appropriate for a continuing above-threshold state; “Crossing” has the candle-opening behavior described above and can produce a notification that does not match your intended interpretation.

Remember that a developing bar can change as trades arrive. The indicator value belongs to the selected interval, and the alert behavior depends on how the charting service evaluates that bar. Do not compare a five-minute threshold directly with a daily threshold without recalibrating the number.

Exchange alerts versus indicator alerts

The following comparison shows what each documented approach is designed to do. Availability still depends on the XRP market and features offered to your account.

A practical selection workflow

  1. Identify the question: fixed price, directional price move, percentage move, volatility, or traded volume.
  2. Identify the market: select the exact XRP pair on the exchange, or document the venue and pair used for a charting alert.
  3. Select the surface: Binance Pro, Coinbase mobile, Kraken web/mobile/Desktop, or a charting tool for indicator conditions.
  4. Set the rule: enter the target, operator, interval, and frequency shown by that service.
  5. Set delivery: allow the relevant push, browser, email, in-app, or desktop permission at every required level.
  6. Record lifecycle details: note expiration, alert caps, and whether you can edit or delete the rule.
  7. Review after saving: confirm the pair, condition, target, interval, and active status in the alert list.

Choose a condition that matches your question

“How do I get notified when XRP reaches a price?”

Use a native exchange price alert. Select the exact XRP pair, choose reaches/above/below, enter the target, save, and verify delivery permissions.

“Did XRP move sharply today?”

Use a percentage-change alert where available. Kraken’s volatility notice is another price-movement option for favorited markets, but it remains a price statistic rather than a volume measurement.

“Can I get an alert when XRP trading volume spikes?”

Use a Volume-indicator alert on a charting service that supports technical conditions. Select the interval first and use Greater than for an above-threshold notification. The standard exchange price-alert instructions cited here do not establish that a native traded-volume threshold is available.

Troubleshoot missed or unexpected alerts

No notification arrived

  • Confirm that the alert was saved and is still active.
  • Check that the selected XRP pair is the one whose price you were watching.
  • Enable the service’s notification option and the operating-system or browser permission separately.
  • On Coinbase, verify that XRP remains on the watchlist.
  • On Kraken mobile, check both device-level and Kraken Pro push settings.
  • On Binance, check phone or desktop notification permissions and the alert’s 90-day lifetime.
  • Check whether a focus, quiet, or battery-saving setting on the device is suppressing the channel you selected.

The alert fired at an unexpected time

  • Check whether you selected a percentage or volatility condition instead of a fixed price.
  • For a volume rule, confirm the chart interval and operator. A Crossing rule can trigger when a new candle opens because its initial volume is near zero.
  • Verify the market’s quote currency and whether the platform reports a last-traded price, mark price, or another reference in that alert type.
  • Review the frequency setting; a recurring rule and a one-time rule can behave differently after the first trigger.

The rule disappeared

It may have expired, been deleted, or reached a platform limit. Binance documents 90-day validity and alert caps; other services may apply different limits that are not stated in the cited instructions. Recreate the rule only after checking its condition and target.

Good operating practice for XRP alerts

  • Give each alert a descriptive name that includes the pair, condition, and interval, such as “XRP/USDC above target” or “XRP 15-minute volume greater than threshold.”
  • Use separate rules for price and volume so a notification clearly identifies what changed.
  • Review active alerts after changing devices, reinstalling an app, switching regions, or changing notification permissions.
  • Keep a written note of the threshold’s units and chart interval for volume rules.
  • Do not treat an alert as an execution instruction. Open the exchange and verify the market yourself before taking action.
  • Periodically remove obsolete targets so an active-alert cap does not prevent a more important rule from being created.

Platform interfaces, available markets, regional restrictions, alert limits, and notification behavior can change. Before relying on a rule, check the current help documentation for your account and run a non-critical notification check.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I set an XRP price alert?

Open XRP or the exact XRP trading pair, choose a supported price condition, enter the target, save it, and enable notifications. Binance, Coinbase, and Kraken use different menus, so verify the market and alert status after saving.

How do I get notified when XRP reaches a price?

Use a native price-level alert with a reaches, above, or below condition. Select the quote-currency pair first; then check phone, browser, email, or desktop permissions.

Can I get an alert when XRP trading volume spikes?

Use a charting service such as TradingView, add the Volume indicator, select the interval, and create an indicator alert. For an above-threshold rule, TradingView recommends Greater than rather than Crossing.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do XRP alerts place an order?

No. Coinbase explicitly describes its alerts as informational notifications that do not place an order. An alert only tells you that its condition was met.

Why did my volume alert trigger when a candle opened?

A Crossing condition can evaluate the new candle when its initial volume is near zero. Use Greater than for a notification that volume is above your selected level.

How many Binance XRP alerts can I create?

Binance documents up to 10 alerts per trading pair and 50 alerts in total. Each alert is valid for 90 days.

Why is my Coinbase alert not arriving?

Coinbase requires the asset to be on your watchlist. Confirm that XRP is starred, the alert is saved, and the desired push, in-app, or email channel is enabled in Notification Settings.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What permissions does Kraken require?

Kraken web alerts need browser notifications. Mobile push must be enabled both in the device settings and inside Kraken Pro. Kraken Desktop also has its own notification controls.

What does the chart interval change?

It changes the period represented by one volume bar. A threshold on a five-minute chart measures one five-minute bar, while the same number on an hourly chart measures one hour of activity.

The Bottom Line

Use your exchange’s native XRP price alert for a target or percentage move, and verify the exact pair plus notification permissions. For a traded-volume threshold, use a Volume-indicator alert on a clearly identified XRP chart, select the interval deliberately, and choose Greater than for an above-level rule. Alerts notify you; they do not predict the market or execute trades.
