You can monitor XRP without staring at a chart: choose XRP or an XRP trading pair in an exchange, charting platform, or market-data app, define a trigger such as “above $X” or “below $Y,” save it, and allow notifications both in that service and in your device operating system. The alert is a message, not a trade order. Coinbase states that its price alerts “do not place an order for that asset.”
What an XRP price alert actually does
An XRP price alert watches a data feed for the XRP asset or a specific trading pair and sends a notification when your chosen condition is met. The service performs the monitoring on its own servers or app infrastructure; your phone or computer only displays the message. That means the app does not need to remain open, although the account must remain configured and signed in as required by the provider.
A basic alert has three parts:
- Instrument: XRP itself or a pair such as XRP/USD, XRP/USDT, or another quote currency offered in your region.
- Condition: a target reached, a move above or below a level, a percentage change, or—in advanced tools—an indicator, strategy, or drawing condition.
- Delivery: push, in-app, email, desktop, or a combination, depending on the service.
Prices can differ slightly between exchanges because each venue has its own order book and quote currency. Select the pair you actually care about and keep the quote currency consistent when comparing an alert with a chart elsewhere.

Use an exchange when you want a straightforward XRP threshold tied to the venue where you trade. Use a charting platform when the trigger depends on technical analysis. Use a market-data app when you primarily want watchlist and movement notifications.

Interfaces, XRP availability, account tiers, and limits can vary by country and change over time. If a menu label differs, look for the service’s alert or notification settings rather than assuming the feature was removed.
Set an XRP alert in Binance
Binance’s documented workflow is designed around a trading pair. The app alert feature is available on Binance Pro, and your phone must permit Binance notifications.
- Open the Binance app and go to Markets.
- Search for the XRP trading pair you want to monitor, such as the pair quoted in your account’s preferred currency.
- Open the pair and tap the Alert icon.
- Choose the alert type. Available conditions listed by Binance include price reaches, rises above, drops to, change over, change under, and 24-hour change over or down.
- Enter the target price or percentage and select the frequency offered for that condition.
- Review the pair, direction, target, and frequency, then tap to create the alert.
- In your phone’s operating-system settings, allow notifications for Binance. Without this permission, the alert may exist in the account but never appear as a push message.
Binance limits to plan around
Binance documents a maximum of 10 alerts for one trading pair and 50 alerts across the account. Each alert remains valid for 90 days. Treat that period as an expiry date: a long-term XRP level will need to be recreated after it expires. A practical routine is to review active alerts once a month and delete obsolete levels before adding new ones.

When Binance is the practical choice
Choose Binance when the quote pair matters—for example, when you want an XRP/USDT threshold rather than a generalized XRP index—and when percentage or 24-hour-change triggers are useful. If you need an alert based on a moving average, trendline, or another drawing, use a charting platform instead.
Set an XRP alert in the Coinbase mobile app
Coinbase limits price alerts to assets on your watchlist. The setup is simple, but skipping the watchlist step prevents the alert from being available.

- Open the Coinbase mobile app and search for XRP.
- Select the XRP asset page and add XRP to your watchlist.
- On the watchlist asset, tap the bell icon.
- Choose Add Alert.
- Select above or below, then enter the target price.
- Save the alert.
- Open Notification Settings and choose push, in-app, email, or any combination Coinbase offers for your account.
- Confirm that your phone’s operating system also allows Coinbase notifications and that a system focus mode or battery restriction is not silencing them.
Coinbase describes the feature narrowly: “Price alerts are only notifications that an asset has reached a certain price. They do not place an order for that asset.” If you intend to trade after receiving the message, you must open the exchange and submit the order yourself, subject to available liquidity, fees, and your own checks.
Using two Coinbase thresholds
A single target only answers whether XRP crossed one level. To monitor a range, create one alert above the upper boundary and another below the lower boundary. For example, an upper alert can tell you that XRP has moved above a level you are watching, while a lower alert can warn that it has fallen through your chosen floor. The exact targets should reflect your plan; the alert service does not determine whether either level is significant.
Build advanced XRP conditions in TradingView
TradingView is the stronger fit when “XRP reaches a price” is not precise enough. Alerts can be attached to the current symbol or to a watchlist, and the condition can reference price, an indicator, a strategy, or a drawing tool.
- Open the XRP symbol or XRP trading pair you want to analyze.
- Create an alert from the chart’s alert control and select the symbol or watchlist context.
- Choose the condition source: price, an indicator, a strategy, or a drawing tool such as a trendline.
- Set the comparison and value. For a basic threshold this may be “greater than” or “less than” a price; for an indicator it may be a cross or another available rule.
- Select the trigger frequency: only once, every time, once per bar close, or once per minute.
- Choose an expiration date or an open-ended alert where the interface permits it.
- Select the notification channels available in your TradingView account and device settings, then save.
Choosing a TradingView trigger frequency
- Only once: suitable for a one-time threshold when you do not want repeated messages.
- Every time: useful for recurring crossings, but potentially noisy in a volatile market.
- Once per bar close: waits for the selected chart interval to close, reducing intrabar false signals.
- Once per minute: provides frequent checks and can generate many notifications when price moves around the level.
TradingView allows an expiration date or an open-ended alert. Its documentation notes that open-ended alerts are unavailable for watchlists, so a watchlist-based setup may require an explicit end date. Set an expiry that matches your intended monitoring period and review it before it lapses.
Set XRP notifications in CoinMarketCap
CoinMarketCap provides per-coin alerts in its app and watchlist movement notifications. In the app, open XRP and use the coin’s alert control to define the notification. The exact control can vary with app version, so update the app and look for the alert or notification option on the XRP page.

For website notification preferences, open your avatar menu, choose Settings, then Notifications. Toggle the categories you want. CoinMarketCap says notifications appear in its inbox and on devices where you are signed in. A signed-in device can still suppress them at the operating-system level, so check both layers.

A per-coin alert is tied to XRP and the condition you configure. A watchlist movement notification is broader: it can report movement among assets you follow without representing one exact target price. Use the former for a precise level and the latter for general awareness, otherwise a busy watchlist can produce messages that do not answer the question you care about.
Make notifications reach you reliably
Saving an alert and receiving it are separate steps. Check the service and the device every time you create a new rule.
- Confirm the account rule: reopen the service’s alert list and verify the XRP pair, direction, target, frequency, and expiry.
- Enable in-service channels: turn on push, in-app, email, or desktop delivery in the service’s notification settings.
- Allow operating-system notifications: in iOS or Android settings, permit notifications for the app; in a desktop browser, allow the site if browser notifications are used.
- Review focus and battery controls: Do Not Disturb, Focus, notification summaries, app sleeping, and aggressive battery optimization can delay or hide messages.
- Check connectivity and sign-in: email requires access to the mailbox, and inbox-based alerts require the account to be signed in on the device.
- Test with a harmless rule: where the service supports it, create a nearby threshold you can observe, confirm delivery, then remove the test rule.
If an alert never arrives
- The XRP asset or pair may not be on the required watchlist.
- The selected pair may have reached the level on a different exchange but not on the one supplying your alert.
- The alert may have expired, especially on Binance after 90 days.
- You may have reached a service limit, such as Binance’s 10-per-pair or 50-total cap.
- A push permission, Focus mode, browser permission, or battery restriction may be blocking delivery.
- An indicator or “bar close” condition may not be satisfied yet even though the intrabar price briefly crossed the level.
Open the alert list before recreating anything. Duplicating a missing-looking rule can create repeated notifications once the original becomes visible again.
Design a set-and-forget XRP monitoring plan
Use an upper and lower boundary
If your goal is to know when XRP leaves a range, configure two independent alerts: one above the upper boundary and one below the lower boundary. On an exchange that supports “rises above” and “drops to,” choose the direction that matches the event you want to detect. On Coinbase, use one “above” and one “below” alert. This arrangement is more informative than checking one midpoint because it distinguishes an upward breakout from a downward move.

Separate urgent alerts from context alerts
Reserve push notifications for levels that require timely attention. Use email or in-app history for lower-priority context such as a daily percentage move. A service that offers “every time” can generate repeated alerts when XRP oscillates around a level; “only once” or “once per bar close” is often calmer for a set-and-forget workflow.
Match the quote currency to your decision
An XRP/USD alert and an XRP/USDT alert are not interchangeable if the quote assets move differently or the venues price XRP with different liquidity. Select the pair used for the action you expect to take. If you monitor several pairs, label each alert with the pair and target so a notification is unambiguous.
Use indicators only when you can explain the trigger
Indicator and drawing alerts are powerful but easier to misconfigure than a simple price level. Before saving one, write down what event should cause it, which chart interval applies, and whether the trigger is evaluated intrabar or at bar close. TradingView’s frequency choices make this distinction explicit; selecting the wrong one can produce an alert earlier or later than intended.

Alert systems are not permanent watchmen unless you maintain them. Binance’s documented 90-day validity is a hard planning constraint, while TradingView can use a specified expiration or an open-ended alert subject to its watchlist restriction. Coinbase and CoinMarketCap’s cited materials do not state a universal alert count or expiry, so check the current account interface rather than assuming unlimited storage.

Keep a small register—inside the service or in your own notes—with the pair, target, condition, channel, creation date, and intended end date. Once a notification is no longer relevant, delete it. This reduces duplicate messages and leaves room under count limits. Recheck long-running rules after app updates, account-plan changes, or a move to a new phone.

Alerts notify; they do not execute trades
A notification is an informational event. It does not reserve liquidity, guarantee that XRP can be bought or sold at the target, or submit an order. Coinbase expressly distinguishes alerts from orders, and the other services’ alert workflows likewise describe messages when a condition is met. If you choose to act, open the trading venue, verify the current quote and order details, and place the order through its normal process. A price can move away from the alert level before you respond, and a brief crossing can occur without a fill at that exact value.
Do not treat an alert as a prediction. It reports that a rule was met according to the service’s data and trigger logic; it does not say what XRP will do next. The setup is a monitoring aid, not investment advice.
Practical configurations
Simple two-sided range
Use Coinbase if XRP is on your watchlist and you need only an upper and lower price. Create an “above” alert for the upper level and a “below” alert for the lower level, then enable push notifications. This is the shortest path for someone who wants fewer chart checks and no technical conditions.
Exchange-native percentage monitoring
Use Binance when you want a pair-specific percentage or 24-hour-change condition. Select the pair in Markets, choose the relevant change-over or change-under option, set the frequency, and remember that the alert expires after 90 days. Review the account’s alert count before adding several pairs.
Trendline or moving-condition monitoring
Use TradingView when the event is “XRP crosses this trendline” or when an indicator condition matters more than a fixed dollar value. Attach the alert to the drawing or indicator, choose bar-close or another frequency deliberately, and set an expiry. Watchlist alerts cannot be open-ended, so provide an end date for that context.
General watchlist awareness
Use CoinMarketCap for per-coin alerts combined with broader watchlist movement notifications. Configure the XRP alert in the app, then review avatar → Settings → Notifications on the website if you need to change categories. Check the CoinMarketCap inbox when a device notification is missed.
Regional and version caveats
XRP support, available trading pairs, notification channels, account tiers, and menu labels can differ by jurisdiction and app version. Binance specifically ties app alerts to Binance Pro. Coinbase’s watchlist requirement applies to its documented mobile workflow. TradingView’s open-ended limitation applies to watchlists. CoinMarketCap’s inbox and signed-in-device behavior depends on the account being signed in on the relevant device. Before relying on a rule, verify the current screen, the pair’s availability in your region, and the alert’s status after any app update.

- Confirm the XRP pair and quote currency.
- Verify above/below direction or the exact advanced condition.
- Check target, frequency, and expiry.
- Confirm the alert appears in the service’s active-alert list.
- Allow notifications in both the service and the operating system.
- Remove obsolete or duplicate rules.
- Review Binance alerts before their 90-day validity ends.
- Remember that a message informs you; it does not place an order.
