The best Capella 2 setup is systematic: identify the left and right speakers, start with about two metres between them, place them securely at listening height, let Stereo Hub 2 finish booting, connect the hub through the TRIANGLE CAPELLA app, choose the appropriate source, and run room calibration before making small Manual EQ changes. Triangle recommends rooms of 15–40 m², but that is guidance rather than a guarantee; your room, seating position and furnishings still determine the final result.

Before you connect anything

Clear a little space around the system and decide where you will normally sit. The Capella 2 is an active wireless stereo system, so each speaker needs mains power, while the Stereo Hub 2 handles sources, network access and the wireless link to the speakers. Keep the hub where its controls and status light are visible during setup.

Check the room

Triangle says the system is recommended for listening rooms between 15 and 40 m². The company explains that very small rooms can make low frequencies resonate, while very large rooms can dilute bass. Treat 15–40 m² as a starting range, not a hard eligibility limit or a promise of balanced bass in every room.

Have these items ready

  • Stereo Hub 2, its antenna and power supply.
  • Both Capella 2 speakers and their power cables.
  • A phone or tablet for the TRIANGLE CAPELLA app. Triangle documents calibration from an iOS device or with a Zen microphone; check current app-store information for Android support before relying on an Android device, because a 2026 T3 review described Android support as apparently incoming.
  • Your Wi-Fi credentials, unless you plan to connect the hub by Ethernet.
  • Your listening source, such as a streaming service, TV, turntable, CD player or computer.

Set up Stereo Hub 2 first

  1. Attach the supplied antenna to Stereo Hub 2 before powering it.
  2. Connect the hub to mains power and allow its complete boot sequence to finish. Triangle’s assistance information says this takes approximately 70 seconds.
  3. Watch the WiSA status indicator. Its LED state shows when the hub is ready; do not interrupt power while the startup sequence is still running.
  4. Place the hub where it can reach your network and where cables from wired sources can be routed without strain. You can move it later, but keeping it accessible makes troubleshooting easier.

If the indicator never reaches its ready state, wait through a full boot cycle before unplugging anything. A premature power interruption can make it unclear whether the problem is startup, network discovery or speaker pairing.

Identify the channels and position the speakers

Confirm left and right

Look at the back of each speaker for its channel label. Put the speaker marked left on the left side of your normal listening position and the speaker marked right on the right. Do this before experimenting with placement; reversing the channels damages stereo imaging even when both speakers are otherwise connected correctly.

Start with two metres of separation

Triangle recommends about two metres between the speakers for the best soundstage. Measure between the speakers rather than estimating from the room walls. This is a starting point that may need adjustment if your furniture, seating distance or room shape makes the stereo image too narrow or too diffuse.

Use stable support at listening height

Triangle recommends its S05 stands because the Capella 2 base fits their top shelf and the stands hold the speakers securely at listening height. The stands are optional, not stated as included equipment. Existing furniture can work if it is rigid, level and deep enough to support the entire base without wobble.

  • Keep both speakers on supports of equal height where possible.
  • Seat each speaker fully on its support before connecting power.
  • Do not place one speaker on a soft or unstable surface while the other is on a rigid stand.
  • Keep the front of each speaker unobstructed by books, screens or decorative objects.

The supplied setup information does not specify a fixed distance from the front or side walls, a universal toe-in angle or one mandatory listening-triangle dimension. Start with the manufacturer’s two-metre separation, then make small, symmetrical changes while seated in your usual position rather than applying a made-up Capella-specific rule.

Power and pair the speakers

  1. Connect power to the left and right speakers after they are in their intended positions.
  2. Switch on the speakers and allow the wireless link to establish with Stereo Hub 2.
  3. Check the system indicators and confirm that both speakers are recognised. If only one speaker appears, verify its channel label, power connection and distance from the hub before changing network settings.

Keep the initial arrangement simple. Do not move speakers repeatedly while the system is still pairing; first establish a working stereo connection, then tune placement after calibration.

Connect the hub to your network in the TRIANGLE CAPELLA app

  1. Install or open the TRIANGLE CAPELLA app on a compatible device.
  2. Follow the app’s on-screen process to find Stereo Hub 2.
  3. Choose Wi-Fi or Ethernet when prompted. For Wi-Fi, select the intended network and enter its password. For Ethernet, connect a network cable to the hub and follow the app’s confirmation steps.
  4. Let the app complete its initial configuration. Triangle notes that an update may install during the first connection, which can extend setup time.
  5. Wait until the app reports that the hub and speakers are ready before starting calibration or source playback.

Keep the phone or tablet close to the hub during discovery. If the app cannot find it, confirm that the device is on the same home network you selected for the hub, check the hub’s status indicator and allow any firmware update to finish before retrying.

Choose the right source connection

The best input path depends on the device you want to use, not on a universal sound-quality ranking. Triangle’s assistance tutorials cover network streaming, casting, Bluetooth and wired sources.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Source Connection path When it makes sense
Tidal or Qobuz Use the service through the network-enabled app workflow. For subscription streaming from a supported service.
Spotify Use the supported network or casting workflow shown in the app. For playback from a Spotify account.
AirPlay Send audio from a compatible Apple device over the network. For Apple-device apps and system audio.
Google Cast Cast from a compatible app or device. For supported Android and Google-connected sources; verify current device support.
Bluetooth Pair the source device directly with the system. For quick playback when network setup is inconvenient.
Turntable, TV, CD player or computer Connect the device to a suitable wired input on Stereo Hub 2, then select that input. For physical media, television audio or a computer’s local playback.

The published tutorials establish that these source categories are supported; they do not establish that one has universally better sound than another. Use the least complicated path that suits your device and keeps the source volume and system volume under control.

Run automatic room calibration

Calibration is the most important step after basic pairing because the same speakers can behave differently in a reflective, furnished, narrow or open room. Triangle describes automatic calibration as a way to adapt the response to the listening room. The official product information lists an iOS device or a Zen microphone as calibration options.

  1. Put the speakers in their intended listening positions before calibrating. Do not calibrate first and then move them across the room.
  2. Place your iOS device or compatible Zen microphone as directed by the app. Use the normal listening position rather than holding the microphone beside one speaker.
  3. Start automatic calibration in the TRIANGLE CAPELLA app.
  4. Keep the room quiet and avoid walking between the speakers and the measurement position while the tones play.
  5. Save the completed profile and listen to familiar recordings at a moderate level.

Calibration is room-specific. It does not make a single setting correct for every chair, volume level or recording. If you regularly listen from two very different seats, judge the result from the seat you use most and avoid chasing tiny changes that are audible only from one unusual position.

Refine the sound with Manual EQ

Use Manual EQ only after automatic calibration and sensible placement. Triangle provides it for adapting the tonal balance to the room and your preferred sound signature. A 2026 T3 review also reported controls in the app for placement, frequency response and subwoofer integration. Neither source publishes a universal numeric EQ curve, so do not copy a setting from another room as if it were a Capella 2 standard.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A controlled adjustment method

  1. Choose two or three familiar recordings with different vocal, bass and treble content.
  2. Change one EQ band or placement-related control at a time.
  3. Use small increments and listen for several minutes before deciding whether the change helps.
  4. Return to the previous setting if a change improves one recording but makes others harsh, boomy or recessed.
  5. Save the profile only after checking it from your normal seat at the volume you commonly use.

Do not use EQ to compensate for a speaker that is physically unstable, incorrectly labelled or blocked by furniture. Correct those causes first; otherwise the EQ profile is solving the wrong problem.

Optimize placement without inventing fixed rules

Adjust separation in small steps

Begin at approximately two metres, then move both speakers by equal amounts if the center image is too narrow or the soundstage loses focus. Make one change at a time and return to the same listening position for each comparison.

Keep the arrangement symmetrical

Try to give the left and right speakers similar surroundings. A speaker beside a bare wall and another beside a curtain or open doorway will receive different reflections, so calibration may have to work harder and the stereo image may pull toward one side.

Do not treat the room-size range as a placement formula

The 15–40 m² recommendation describes a suitable room-size band, not a required distance from walls or a fixed seating triangle. The available information does not provide a Capella-specific wall clearance or toe-in number. Use careful, symmetrical experiments and let the calibrated result guide your final choice.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose between common setup options

Decision Option A Option B How to decide
Speaker support S05 stands: purpose-built top shelf and secure listening-height placement. Existing furniture: no dedicated stand, but it must be rigid, level and appropriately sized. Choose the support that keeps both speakers stable and at comparable height. Triangle recommends S05; it does not state that stands are required.
Calibration device Compatible iOS device. Triangle Zen microphone. Use the device you have that the current app recognises. Confirm exact Zen microphone compatibility before purchase.
Network connection Wi-Fi. Ethernet. Use Wi-Fi for flexible placement; use Ethernet when a cable is practical and you want a direct wired network path to the hub.
Playback input Streaming, AirPlay, Google Cast or Bluetooth. Wired input from a turntable, TV, CD player or computer. Match the input to your source device and select that input in the system. The available material does not establish a sound-quality winner.

Troubleshoot the problems that matter most

The hub is not found

  • Confirm the antenna and power cable are attached.
  • Wait the full approximately 70-second boot period and check the WiSA indicator state.
  • Make sure the phone running the app is connected to the intended home network.
  • If an update is offered, allow it to finish before restarting setup.
  • Try Ethernet if Wi-Fi discovery remains unreliable, then complete the app’s network steps again.

Only one speaker plays

  • Check power at both speakers.
  • Re-read the rear channel labels and make sure the physical left and right positions match them.
  • Allow pairing to complete before moving either speaker.
  • Restart the hub and speakers only after checking cables and indicator states.

The sound is boomy or thin

  • Confirm that both speakers are on stable, similar supports.
  • Return to the approximately two-metre starting separation and make symmetrical placement changes.
  • Run automatic calibration again after the speakers are in their final positions.
  • Use small Manual EQ changes rather than applying an EQ curve copied from another room.
  • Consider whether your room is unusually small or large relative to Triangle’s 15–40 m² guidance.

The stereo image is on the wrong side

Check the channel labels first. A left-right reversal is a connection or placement error, not an EQ problem. Correct the speaker positions, then rerun calibration if you had already completed it.

A streaming service works but a wired source does not

Verify that the cable is connected to the intended hub input, select that input in the app or system controls, and check the source device’s own output and volume settings. A turntable may also require the appropriate phono-level equipment; the setup information identifies turntables as a wired use case but does not specify a particular phono configuration.

Final listening check

  • Both speakers are on the correct sides and remain stable at listening height.
  • The separation is close to the two-metre starting recommendation or to the symmetrical position that worked best in your room.
  • Stereo Hub 2 has completed booting and is connected through Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
  • Your chosen streaming, casting, Bluetooth or wired source plays from both channels.
  • Automatic calibration was run after final placement.
  • Manual EQ changes are modest, documented and judged from your normal seat.

Firmware and app capabilities can change. Before troubleshooting a missing control or claiming support for a particular phone platform, check the current TRIANGLE CAPELLA app listing and Triangle’s support information.
