Set up the workflow in this order: create a custom Channel Point reward in Twitch, map that reward to a Tangia action, add Tangia’s overlay URL to OBS as a browser source, and fire a test while OBS is open. This reliably covers stream-side effects such as alerts, sounds, visual effects and mini-games. Tangia’s published setup material does not establish a native connector that changes World of Warcraft characters, combat, inventory or settings, so describe WoW gameplay outcomes as actions you perform yourself unless you have separately verified an integration.
What this setup actually connects
The connection has three parts:
- Twitch owns the Channel Point reward, its price, eligibility limits, queue and request decisions.
- Tangia watches for a matching reward name and runs the Tangia action you select, with its own cooldown, queue-depth and priority settings.
- OBS Studio displays Tangia’s single overlay URL through a browser source on your stream canvas.
Tangia’s Channel Points Guide documents name-based, case-insensitive matching between a Twitch reward and a Tangia mapping. Its overlay documentation and homepage describe the browser-source presentation layer. None of those materials documents Tangia issuing commands to World of Warcraft or changing game state. That distinction matters: a redemption can show an alert or tell you to attempt a voluntary in-game challenge, but the software is not shown to control your character.
Prepare the accounts and stream layout
Accounts and permissions
- A Twitch account with access to the Creator Dashboard and Channel Points.
- A Tangia account connected to the Twitch channel.
- OBS Studio with permission to add or edit browser sources.
- A WoW stream scene in OBS where an overlay can be positioned without covering essential combat information.
Connect Twitch to Tangia before copying the overlay URL. If you use separate accounts for testing and live broadcasting, confirm that the connected Twitch channel is the one whose rewards you are editing.

Tangia describes positioning its overlay on a 1920×1080 canvas. Use the dimensions of your actual OBS scene if they differ, then place alerts where they do not obscure the boss frame, action bars, raid warnings or your webcam. Decide in advance whether sounds should be audible to viewers only, to you as well, or both; perform a private test before a raid.

Step 1: Create the reward in Twitch first
- Open the Twitch Creator Dashboard.
- Go to Viewer Rewards → Channel Points → Manage Rewards.
- Select Add a custom reward.
- Enter a recognizable reward name, set its Channel Point price, configure the request limits and cooldowns available in Twitch, and enable the reward.
- Save the reward and copy its name exactly as displayed for your own setup notes.
Tangia’s guide explicitly places Twitch reward creation before the Tangia mapping. Give each reward a clear purpose, such as “Choose the next challenge” or “Play a sound,” rather than a vague label that viewers could misunderstand. The Twitch price is the number of points viewers spend; it is separate from Tangia’s cooldown and queue controls.
Step 2: Map the Twitch reward in Tangia
- Open the Tangia dashboard and select Channel Points.
- Add a new reward mapping.
- Enter the Twitch reward name. Tangia documents case-insensitive, name-based matching, but using the same spelling and recognizable wording avoids managing the wrong reward.
- Choose the Tangia action that should run when the redemption arrives. Depending on your Tangia setup, this can be a sound, visual effect, alert or another configured stream interaction.
- Set Tangia’s cooldown, maximum queue depth and priority for this mapping.
- Save the mapping and confirm that it is enabled.
There are two independent control layers. Twitch controls whether viewers can submit requests and whether the reward is paused or rejected. Tangia controls how its mapped action is scheduled after a request reaches it. A generous Twitch limit combined with a tiny Tangia queue can still leave viewers waiting, while a large Tangia queue can create a long sequence of effects during a fight.
Use a one-to-one name while configuring
Do not map several Twitch rewards to the same ambiguous phrase while you are diagnosing the setup. Start with one reward and one mapping, fire a test, then add additional mappings. If you rename the Twitch reward, update the Tangia mapping to the new name and test again; name matching is not a game-action identifier.
Step 3: Add Tangia’s overlay to OBS
- In Tangia, connect the correct Twitch channel if you have not already done so.
- Copy the overlay URL supplied by Tangia.
- In OBS, open the scene that should display interactions.
- In the Sources panel, choose + and select Browser (browser source).
- Paste the Tangia overlay URL into the URL field.
- Set the browser source width and height to match the scene, or use your intended canvas dimensions; Tangia describes a 1920×1080 placement as a common layout.
- Place the source above the game capture in the source stack and position it in the safe area you selected.
- Apply the source and leave it active while testing.
Tangia’s model is a single browser-source URL rather than a separate OBS source for every reward. Keep that source in each scene where interactions should appear, or duplicate the source into other scenes according to your OBS layout. If an alert is visible in one scene but not another, check that the browser source exists and is visible in the active scene.
Step 4: Test each mapping before going live
- Keep OBS open with the Tangia browser source visible.
- Return to the Tangia Channel Points mapping.
- Use Tangia’s Test Fire control for the mapping.
- Watch for the intended visual or sound action in OBS.
- Check the alert’s position, size, duration, animation and audio level against your WoW layout.
- Repeat for every reward and for any scene in which the overlay will be used.
Test Fire is a software preview of the mapping and overlay. It does not establish that Tangia changed World of Warcraft or that a live viewer redemption was processed. For an end-to-end check, redeem the reward from a permitted test account or moderator account after the preview works, then verify the Twitch queue and the Tangia action separately.
Step 5: Set limits that work during WoW play
Control requests in Twitch
Use Twitch’s per-stream and per-user limits to prevent a popular reward from flooding your channel. Twitch’s Channel Points Guide for Creators documents pausing rewards, rejecting requests and returning points when a request is rejected. Pause a reward before a pull, raid boss or other high-attention section if you cannot safely acknowledge it.

Control execution in Tangia
Set a cooldown long enough to avoid overlapping animations or sounds, choose a bounded maximum queue depth, and use priority deliberately. Tangia also describes blackout controls, sound queues and queue management in its setup material and product information. A bounded queue is easier to explain to viewers than an unlimited backlog that may execute after the relevant moment has passed.
Plan a visible operating policy
- State when redemptions are accepted during combat and when they are paused.
- Tell viewers whether a rejected request returns its Twitch points.
- Explain that a queued stream effect may play after the redemption moment.
- Designate a moderator who can pause or reject requests while you are focused on mechanics.
Tangia says it cannot refund Twitch Channel Points itself. Refund decisions therefore belong to Twitch’s reward controls and your moderation process, not to a Tangia button.
WoW-friendly redemption designs
Because the documented connection is stream-side, build rewards around actions that are safe to perform while playing:
Low-disruption effects
A short sound, visual alert or on-screen animation gives the redeemer immediate feedback without requiring you to remove your hands from the controls. Apply a cooldown so several redemptions do not stack into an unreadable or excessively loud sequence.
Viewer-selected challenges
Map a reward to a prompt that you acknowledge verbally or on screen, then perform the voluntary challenge at a suitable break. Examples include selecting a cosmetic, choosing the next non-critical activity or asking the viewer to pick between two safe options. The reward does not execute the choice in WoW; you do.
Combat-safe reminders
Use a short alert that you can defer until combat ends. Put the deferral rule in the reward description so viewers do not expect an immediate distraction during a boss mechanic.

Tangia Dungeon
Tangia describes Tangia Dungeon (published August 27, 2024) as a separate on-stream mini-game that can be enabled in the dashboard and made redeemable through Channel Points. It can run alongside a WoW broadcast, but it is not documented as an integration with WoW gameplay. Treat it as another overlay interaction, not as a mechanism for changing your character or encounter.

This comparison reflects the capabilities described by Tangia and Twitch. It does not imply that any row can automate World of Warcraft input.
Build a repeatable naming and test matrix
Keep a short setup list for every reward: the Twitch display name, the Tangia action, the intended scene, the cooldown, the queue depth and the person responsible for pausing it. This makes a rename or scene change less likely to leave a stale mapping behind. Because matching is based on the reward name, avoid decorative punctuation or jokes that make two rewards look alike in a busy dashboard.
Test in layers. First use Test Fire with the browser source active. Next, redeem from an account that is allowed to spend points and confirm that the request appears in Twitch. Finally, observe whether Tangia consumes the request and schedules the action. If the first layer fails, changing Twitch limits will not fix the overlay; if the preview works but the live redemption does not, check the connected channel and Twitch reward state.
Coordinate scenes, audio and moderators
OBS scenes are independent. A browser source visible in your “Starting Soon” scene is not automatically visible in a raid scene unless you add or duplicate it there. Before switching scenes, verify that the destination scene contains the source, that it is above the game capture, and that its dimensions still fit the canvas. Keep the overlay away from raid frames and encounter warnings even when it is transparent between events.
Audio deserves its own check. Fire a sound mapping with game audio and microphone monitoring at normal levels, then adjust the Tangia action or OBS mixer so a redemption is audible without masking callouts. Tell viewers whether you may delay a sound during a pull. A moderator can pause Twitch rewards, reject requests that no longer fit the moment, and explain why a queued effect was skipped or delayed.

Keep the automation boundary clear
Do not advertise a reward as “casts a spell,” “loots an item” or “changes your character” unless a separate, verified connector documents that behavior. The documented Tangia workflow triggers stream interactions. A safe description is “plays a sound,” “shows an alert,” or “asks the streamer to attempt a challenge.” This wording protects expectations and gives you room to defer a voluntary action until combat is over.

Troubleshoot the common failures
The reward redeems in Twitch but nothing happens in Tangia
- Confirm the reward is enabled in Viewer Rewards → Channel Points → Manage Rewards.
- Check that Tangia is connected to the same Twitch channel.
- Compare the Twitch reward name with the Tangia mapping. Matching is case-insensitive, but spelling, spaces and punctuation still need to identify the intended reward.
- Verify that the Tangia mapping is enabled and that its cooldown or queue is not blocking execution.
- Run Test Fire with OBS open to separate a mapping problem from a live Twitch event problem.
The test fires but the overlay is invisible
- Ensure the browser source URL was pasted into the active OBS scene.
- Check that the source is not hidden, cropped, behind game capture or positioned outside the canvas.
- Confirm the source dimensions and scene resolution; use the intended 1920×1080 layout when that matches your canvas.
- Refresh the browser source and fire the test again.
Effects arrive late or pile up
Inspect both queues. Lower the Twitch acceptance limits, reduce Tangia’s maximum queue depth, lengthen the cooldown or pause the reward during combat. A queued request may execute after the moment in which it was redeemed, so publish that expectation in the reward text.
A viewer wants points back
Reject the request through Twitch’s reward queue when appropriate. Twitch documents that rejecting returns points; Tangia states that it cannot refund them independently. Do not promise a refund until the Twitch action has been completed.

- Before going live, open OBS, confirm the Tangia browser source is visible and fire one harmless test.
- At the start of a dungeon, raid or boss attempt, leave low-risk rewards enabled only if their cooldowns and queue are appropriate.
- Use a Twitch pause or a Tangia blackout/queue control during high-attention mechanics.
- After the encounter, review pending requests, reject those that no longer make sense and communicate the result to viewers.
- When changing a reward name, action, scene or queue policy, run Test Fire again and update the reward description.
The result is a predictable bridge from Twitch redemption to a Tangia stream interaction displayed in OBS. Keep any World of Warcraft consequence voluntary and streamer-performed unless a separate, verified game integration documents otherwise.

Can Tangia automatically cast spells or change my WoW character?
The documented setup supports stream-side alerts, sounds, visual effects and mini-games. It does not establish native control of WoW combat, inventory, characters or settings. Describe gameplay outcomes as actions you perform voluntarily.
Why do I need an OBS browser source?
Tangia supplies a single overlay URL that OBS displays through a Browser source. Add that source to every scene where interactions should appear, size it for your canvas and keep it above the game capture.
What does Test Fire prove?
Test Fire previews the Tangia mapping and overlay while OBS is open. It confirms that the selected action can display or play, but it is not proof that a live Twitch redemption was accepted or that WoW changed.
How can I stop redemptions during a boss pull?
Pause the Twitch reward, use Twitch limits, or apply Tangia’s cooldown, queue-depth and blackout controls. Tell viewers when requests are paused and whether queued effects may run after combat.
Who refunds Channel Points when I reject a request?
Twitch controls the reward queue and documents that rejecting a request returns points. Tangia says it cannot refund Twitch points itself, so do not promise a refund until the Twitch rejection is complete.
What is Tangia Dungeon in relation to WoW?
Tangia describes Tangia Dungeon as a separate on-stream mini-game that can be enabled and made redeemable through Channel Points. It can accompany a WoW broadcast, but it is not documented as WoW gameplay integration.
