To get salah reminders in Slack, install the Prayer Times Bot for Slack, run /prayer, enter your country and city, then choose which prayers to receive and where to receive them. The app’s author describes reminders for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha; its support page also lists commands for checking prayer times. These are the publisher’s stated features, not independently verified results.
Set up the bot in your Slack workspace
- Install Prayer Times Bot for Slack in the workspace where you want reminders. The author’s setup instructions say the app uses Slack OAuth to install across workspaces: DEV Community setup article.
- In Slack, run
/prayerto open setup. - Enter your country and city so the app can provide location-based times.
- Select all five daily prayers or only the ones you want, then choose a Slack channel or direct message and your language.
- Save the settings. The author says reminders then run automatically.
The author’s article describes coverage in 100+ cities and automatic timezone handling. Check that your specific location is available and compare the displayed times with a trusted local timetable before relying on notifications.
Choose where reminders appear
The setup article says alerts can be sent to a channel or by direct message, and that users can select particular prayers rather than receiving all five. A channel can make the reminder visible to coworkers; a direct message keeps it in your Slack inbox. Confirm that the app is authorized to post in the destination channel.
The author also lists English or Arabic notifications. The product page advertises English and Arabic interface modes as well as DM and shared-channel delivery; these are product claims, so confirm the options available in your installed app: product page.

Check prayer times with Slack commands
The support page lists these time lookup commands:
/prayer_times today— view today’s prayer times./prayer_times tomorrow— view tomorrow’s prayer times./prayer_times now— check the next prayer time.
For setup and language options, the support page also lists /prayer and language commands. It does not specify the exact language-command syntax in the retrieved help content. See the support and help center for the current command guidance.
What else the app advertises
The product page advertises optional pre-adhan alerts, a reminder when a prayer time is nearing its end, Slack status changes that later revert, and pause/resume controls. It also describes prayer-partner matching and daily Hadith and tafseer features. Availability may depend on the current app configuration; verify each option in Slack rather than assuming it is included or enabled.

- Use the time lookup commands to see whether the app is returning times for the intended location.
What to verify before relying on work alerts
The available product FAQ raises questions about location privacy, prayer-time accuracy, and Slack plan compatibility but does not provide answers to them. It does not establish what location or workspace data is retained, which prayer-time calculation method is used, or how to validate the result. Ask the app operator about data handling and check local times against a trusted source before making the bot your only reminder. The cited materials also do not establish whether the app is currently listed in Slack Marketplace or whether every advertised feature has been tested.
