RayNeo GT glasses are USB-C displays, not standalone wireless monitors. The simplest setup is a direct connection from the included USB-C cable to a host device whose USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode (USB-C video). HDMI-only devices—including PlayStation, Xbox, many desktops and Nintendo Switch docks—need the RayNeo HDMI Adapter, and console setups also need USB-C PD power.

Identify the source device’s actual video output before connecting anything. A USB-C socket that supports only charging or data cannot drive the glasses, even though the plug fits. The host sends the picture and normally supplies power, so its battery may drain faster and the device may become warm.

What you need before connecting RayNeo GT

RayNeo GT expects a USB-C video signal. Direct connections use DisplayPort Alt Mode, a feature of the host’s USB-C port. RayNeo cautions that “a USB-C connector does not always support video output”; charging-only and data-only ports are incompatible.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • The included USB-C cable for every direct USB-C connection and for the RayNeo HDMI Adapter.
  • The RayNeo HDMI Adapter for sources that output video through HDMI.
  • Apple’s Lightning Digital AV Adapter for an iPhone or iPad with a Lightning connector, used before the RayNeo HDMI Adapter.
  • A USB-C PD power source for console HDMI setups, because a console’s HDMI socket does not power the glasses.

Check the exact model’s specifications rather than relying on the connector shape. Device revisions, firmware, operating-system updates and adapter listings can change compatibility.

  • 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
  • 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
  • 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.

  • 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)

Connect a USB-C phone directly

USB-C iPhone 15, 16 and 17 series

RayNeo lists iPhone 15, iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 series models as direct USB-C examples. Use the included cable:

  1. Unlock the iPhone and connect one end of the included USB-C cable to the phone.
  2. Connect the other end to RayNeo GT.
  3. Wait for the phone to detect the external display. The phone supplies the video signal and power through USB-C.

No HDMI adapter is required for a confirmed USB-C video-output model. If the screen remains black, verify the exact iPhone model and that the cable is fully seated; not every USB-C iPhone variant has a confirmed video-output path.

Models requiring a compatibility check

RayNeo’s compatibility information does not confirm a video-output path for iPhone 16e, iPhone 17e or iPhone Air. Treat these as unconfirmed rather than assuming that their USB-C port can drive GT. Check the current model-specific support information before purchasing an adapter or relying on the glasses for travel.

Connect a Lightning iPhone or iPad

Lightning devices cannot send the required USB-C DisplayPort signal directly. Use both adapters in this order. RayNeo identifies iPhone 14 Pro and the ninth-generation iPad as representative Lightning devices.

  1. Plug the Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter into the iPhone or iPad’s Lightning port.
  2. Connect an HDMI cable from the Apple adapter’s HDMI output to the RayNeo HDMI to Glasses and Charging Adapter.
  3. Connect the included USB-C cable from the RayNeo adapter to RayNeo GT.
  4. Provide power to the adapter if its instructions or the display behavior indicate that power is needed, then unlock the Apple device and select the expected display or mirroring behavior.

Both adapters are necessary: Apple’s adapter converts Lightning output to HDMI, while RayNeo’s adapter converts the HDMI source to the USB-C signal required by the glasses. A Lightning-to-USB-C charging cable cannot replace this video chain.

Connect an Android phone

Android support depends on USB-C video output, not Android alone. RayNeo names Samsung Galaxy S8 through S25 as supported examples, but the reliable buying check is the exact phone specification for “DisplayPort Alt Mode” or “USB-C video output.”

Apple EarPods Headphones with USB-C Plug, Wired Ear Buds with Built-in Remote to Control Music, Phone Calls, and Volume
  • SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
  • HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
  • BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
  • COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
  • INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
  1. Confirm that the phone’s USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.
  2. Connect the included USB-C cable to the phone and RayNeo GT.
  3. Unlock the phone and approve any external-display prompt.
  4. If the phone offers desktop or screen-mirroring modes, choose the mode you want; the glasses can then show the phone’s output.

If a compatible-looking phone charges but shows no picture, its port may support charging and data only. Test with a known video-capable USB-C host before buying additional accessories.

Connect a Mac or Windows laptop

Mac with USB-C DisplayPort output

A Mac whose USB-C port supports DisplayPort output connects directly. Attach the included cable between the Mac and GT, then use macOS display settings to select mirroring, an extended desktop or the arrangement you prefer. The Mac powers the glasses over the same connection.

Windows laptop with USB-C video

For a Windows laptop, confirm that the specific USB-C port carries video (often described as DisplayPort over USB-C, USB-C video or Thunderbolt-compatible display output). Connect the included cable, then use Windows display settings to choose duplicate or extend. A USB-C port marked only for charging or data will not work.

Desktop tower or computer without USB-C video

If the computer has HDMI output but no USB-C video-capable port, use the RayNeo HDMI Adapter:

  1. Connect an HDMI cable from the computer’s HDMI output to the RayNeo HDMI Adapter.
  2. Connect the included USB-C cable from the adapter to GT.
  3. Power the adapter if required by its design, then select the glasses as an available display in the operating system.

Check the computer’s output resolution and refresh rate if the display is missing. Start at 1080p and a conservative refresh rate, then increase settings only after a stable image appears.

Connect PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 or Xbox

PlayStation and Xbox consoles output video over HDMI, while RayNeo GT expects USB-C video. RayNeo’s documented arrangement uses the HDMI Adapter and a separate USB-C PD power source.

  • Travel Must-Have for People On the Go: A must-have travel accessory for flights, flying, airports, air travel, airplanes, planes, international trips, cruises, and long travel days. Key gadget for your airport haul, travel accessories and must-haves.
  1. Connect an HDMI cable from the console’s HDMI output to the RayNeo HDMI Adapter.
  2. Connect the included USB-C cable from the adapter to RayNeo GT.
  3. Connect a USB-C PD power source to the adapter’s power input.
  4. Turn on the console and glasses, then select the console’s display output if prompted.

The console HDMI port does not power the glasses. Leaving the adapter’s PD input disconnected can produce a black screen even when the HDMI cable is correctly connected. For first troubleshooting, set the console to 1080p, reseat both HDMI ends, confirm PD power, and use the included USB-C cable.

Connect a Steam Deck

Steam Deck’s USB-C port supports DisplayPort video, so a direct connection is the shortest path:

  1. Connect the included USB-C cable to Steam Deck.
  2. Connect the other end to RayNeo GT.
  3. Choose the desired display mode in SteamOS if a prompt appears.

In this arrangement, Steam Deck’s battery powers the glasses. If you need to connect other peripherals or the direct path is inconvenient, use a dock or a USB-C-to-HDMI adapter and then follow the HDMI-source procedure with the RayNeo adapter. That fallback adds conversion hardware and may require external power depending on the dock and adapter.

Connect Nintendo Switch

Original Switch and Switch OLED

These models use the dock’s HDMI output. Connect the dock to the RayNeo HDMI Adapter with an HDMI cable, then connect the included USB-C cable from the RayNeo adapter to GT. Use the adapter’s power arrangement as specified for the HDMI setup, and keep the Switch dock powered normally.

Switch Lite

Switch Lite has no video output, so it cannot drive RayNeo GT through a dock or cable.

Switch 2 and accessory choices

RayNeo lists Switch 2 under HDMI/accessory routes. Because accessory compatibility can vary by console revision and dock, check RayNeo’s current model-specific Switch guidance before buying a back clip or replacement dock. Do not assume that an accessory designed for the original Switch will provide a working video path for Switch 2.

When the RayNeo XR App is needed

The RayNeo XR App is optional for basic screen mirroring and extended-display use. A direct cable connection can show the host’s image without the app; RayNeo states that the app is not required for basic display use.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Install the app when you want features beyond ordinary display output, such as:

  • AI 2D-to-3D conversion.
  • Immersive 3D playback.
  • Spatial photo and video viewing.
  • Media management.

Feature availability depends on the host device, operating system, app version and glasses firmware. If a feature is missing, update the app and firmware where supported, then check whether the phone or computer meets that feature’s requirements. Do not install the app merely to make a confirmed direct USB-C display connection work.

RayNeo GT display specifications and what they mean

Specification RayNeo listing Practical meaning
Panel resolution 1920 × 1080 Each displayed image is presented at Full HD resolution when the source and connection support it.
2D refresh rate 120Hz Compatible 2D content can appear smoother at up to the listed refresh rate.
3D refresh rate 60Hz 3D mode uses the listed 60Hz rate.
Field of view 46° The image occupies a 46-degree view rather than filling your entire natural vision.
Virtual display presets 136, 201 and 231 inches These are virtual image-size descriptions, not the measurement of a physical screen.
Product weight 68g The glasses add 68 grams to the wearer’s face before the cable is considered.

The 120Hz figure applies to 2D mode, while 3D mode is listed at 60Hz. A host, adapter or game-console output setting can limit the actual signal, so a higher setting is not guaranteed simply because the glasses support it.

Troubleshoot a black screen or intermittent image

1. Confirm that the source can output video

For USB-C hosts, look specifically for DisplayPort Alt Mode or USB-C video output in the exact model’s specifications. Charging and data support alone is insufficient. For consoles and HDMI computers, confirm that the HDMI output is active and that the RayNeo HDMI Adapter is in the signal path.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

2. Simplify the chain

Remove unnecessary hubs and extension cables. For a direct-capable host, use only the included USB-C cable. For an HDMI source, use one HDMI cable, the RayNeo HDMI Adapter and the included USB-C cable. For a Lightning device, retain both required adapters in the documented order.

  • 【Press Down Firmly Every 30 Minutes】Use your palm or fingers to press the phone down firmly and check it's secure before letting go. Apply even pressure for a few seconds to allow the suction cup to adhere properly. To maintain the grip and prevent accidental falls, it's a good practice to periodically reapply pressure to the suction cup.

3. Check power

Console HDMI setups require USB-C PD power at the RayNeo adapter because HDMI does not power GT. Reseat the PD connector and test a known-good power source. On direct phone, laptop and Steam Deck connections, watch the host battery level: rapid drain or warmth is expected when the host is powering an external display, but extreme heat or repeated disconnects warrants stopping and checking the host and cable.

4. Start with conservative display settings

Set the source to 1920 × 1080 at a standard refresh rate, with 1080p as the first test for consoles. Once an image is stable, try other supported settings. A source setting outside the adapter or glasses’ supported range can result in no picture.

5. Reseat and isolate

  • Unplug and reconnect every connector firmly, including both ends of the HDMI cable.
  • Use the included USB-C cable rather than assuming another cable carries video.
  • Restart the source with the glasses already connected.
  • Test the glasses on a known video-capable USB-C device to distinguish a host problem from an adapter or glasses problem.
  • For app-dependent features, verify the app version, glasses firmware and operating-system compatibility.

Power, battery and heat expectations

RayNeo GT is host-dependent. With direct USB-C connections, the phone, laptop or Steam Deck normally supplies both the image and electrical power. That increases battery consumption and can make the host warm, especially during high-brightness, high-refresh-rate or demanding gaming sessions.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

HDMI sources require a conversion adapter because HDMI cannot be plugged directly into the glasses. For PlayStation and Xbox, the adapter’s USB-C PD input is mandatory for operation. Keep the power source connected for the entire session and avoid assuming that the console’s USB ports can replace the specified PD input.

A reliable setup checklist

  1. Identify the exact source model and its physical video-output port.
  2. For USB-C, verify DisplayPort Alt Mode or USB-C video output in the specifications.
  3. Use the included USB-C cable for a direct connection.
  4. For HDMI, obtain the RayNeo HDMI Adapter and connect the source HDMI output to it.
  5. For Lightning iPhone or iPad, put Apple’s Lightning Digital AV Adapter before the RayNeo HDMI Adapter.
  6. For PlayStation or Xbox, connect USB-C PD power to the RayNeo adapter before troubleshooting the picture.
  7. Set a console or computer to 1920 × 1080 first if no image appears.
  8. Install the RayNeo XR App only for 3D conversion, immersive 3D, spatial media or media-management features.
  9. Recheck the current model-specific compatibility guidance when using a newly released phone, console revision, dock or firmware.

Which connection should you choose?

Choose direct USB-C whenever the host explicitly supports DisplayPort Alt Mode: it uses the fewest components and lets the host power the glasses. Choose the RayNeo HDMI Adapter for consoles, desktops and other HDMI-only sources, and budget for the required PD power on console setups. Use the Lightning chain only for older Apple devices that cannot output video over USB-C. The XR App is an optional feature layer, not a prerequisite for ordinary mirroring or an extended desktop.
