The Logitech G PRO X2 RAPID is a tenkeyless (TKL) gaming keyboard with magnetic analog switches. Its two most important adjustable input controls are actuation point—how far a key must travel before it registers—and rapid trigger—how far that key must return before it can register another press. Configure both in Logitech G HUB, or make many changes directly from the keyboard’s onboard OLED display.
For a reliable starting setup, connect the keyboard, update G HUB, set a moderate actuation point, enable rapid trigger only on keys that benefit from fast reactivation, and test movement and repeated actions in your game. Reduce the rapid-trigger reset distance gradually only when testing shows that accidental activations are under control.
What the two controls change
Actuation point
Actuation is the key-travel distance at which a switch sends a keypress. On the PRO X2 RAPID, you can set it independently for each key from 0.1 mm to 4 mm, in 0.05 mm increments. A shorter setting registers a press earlier in the key’s travel; a deeper setting requires more deliberate movement and can reduce unintended presses.
Because the value is per key, you do not need to use one setting for the entire board. Movement keys, jump, crouch, reload and other frequently used controls can have different actuation points when your game or typing habits call for it.

Rapid trigger
Rapid trigger changes the return distance needed for a key to reset before it can be pressed again. With a shorter reset distance, the keyboard can recognize a release and a new press with less upward travel. That can help with rapid direction changes or repeated taps, but an overly sensitive setting can register movement you did not intend.
Rapid trigger is separate from the initial actuation point. Set the actuation point for when a press begins, then tune the return distance for how quickly that key can become active again.
Before you configure the keyboard
- Connect the PRO X2 RAPID directly to the computer and confirm that it is recognized.
- Install Logitech G HUB, or update it before making a profile. Logitech lists G HUB 2026.7.992920 as its latest release, dated October 12, 2026.
- Have a target game or input test ready so you can check movement, repeated taps and accidental activations immediately after changing a value.
- Decide whether you want a software profile in G HUB, an on-keyboard adjustment from the OLED, or both.
Set actuation and rapid trigger in G HUB
- Connect and update. Plug in the PRO X2 RAPID, open Logitech G HUB and complete any available update. Restart G HUB if it asks you to do so.
- Select the keyboard. In G HUB, choose the PRO X2 RAPID device to open its configuration controls.
- Choose actuation points. Use the actuation controls to select a value for each key. Stay within the documented 0.1–4 mm range; the control moves in 0.05 mm increments. Apply shorter values to keys where early registration is useful and deeper values where you want more resistance to accidental presses.
- Enable rapid trigger selectively. Turn it on for keys where quick reset matters, such as movement or frequently repeated actions. Start with a moderate reset distance rather than immediately choosing the most sensitive setting.
- Test in context. Use the movement keys and repeated actions in the game you actually play. Check both directions of a movement change, repeated taps and any action that tends to misfire. If the keyboard activates while you are merely resting or brushing a key, increase the reset distance or use a deeper actuation point on that key.
- Tune in small steps. Reduce the reset distance gradually only when your tests show that the current setting is stable. Change one group of keys at a time so you can identify which value caused a problem.
- Save the profile. Store the finished configuration as a G HUB profile. Keep a separate profile for another game or for ordinary typing instead of continually overwriting the setup you know works.
Recommended starting strategy
There is no single Logitech-published preset that is correct for every player. A useful tuning method is to change the two variables in a controlled order:

- Set a moderate actuation point on the keys you use most. Verify that ordinary resting and hand repositioning do not produce presses.
- Enable rapid trigger on those same keys with a moderate reset distance.
- Play a short, repeatable section of the game. Test strafing, stopping, counter-movement and repeated taps rather than relying only on how the keyboard feels at the desktop.
- If a key feels slow to react, shorten its actuation point or rapid-trigger reset distance slightly—not both at once.
- If you see false movement, repeated actions or key chatter-like behavior, increase the reset distance first. If the problem remains, use a deeper actuation point or disable rapid trigger for that key.
This is tuning guidance, not a Logitech-certified competitive preset. Your switch, keycap, hand position, game and firmware state all affect the result.
Settings to compare while you tune
| Setting or test | What a shorter or lower value does | What a longer or deeper value does |
|---|---|---|
| Actuation depth | Registers the press earlier in travel; can feel faster but more sensitive. | Requires more travel; can feel more deliberate and help prevent accidental presses. |
| Rapid-trigger reset distance | Allows a key to reset with less return travel; useful for fast repeated input. | Requires more return travel; generally offers more stability. |
| Per-key consistency | Using the same value across a group simplifies muscle memory. | Different values let you optimize movement, actions and typing independently. |
| Accidental-input rate | Increase sensitivity only if testing shows that unintended activations remain low. | Increase the distance when resting fingers or light contact causes presses. |
| Configuration method | G HUB provides detailed profile management. | The OLED provides immediate adjustments without opening the software. |
Adjust settings from the onboard OLED
Logitech says the PRO X2 RAPID’s onboard OLED can adjust rapid trigger and actuation points without opening G HUB. It also exposes Key Priority (SOCD) and LIGHTSYNC settings. This is useful at a tournament desk, on a second computer or whenever you need to make a quick change without launching software.
The exact button-by-button sequence can vary with the keyboard’s current firmware and quick-start instructions. For the detailed keystrokes, use Logitech’s support article titled “PRO X TKL RAPID – Setting Actuation Point & Rapid Trigger without G HUB” or the current quick-start documentation supplied with the keyboard. The important limitation is that the available support material confirms an onboard configuration path but does not establish one universal sequence for every firmware revision.

Using Key Priority (SOCD)
Key Priority, also called SOCD handling, is a separate control from rapid trigger. Rapid trigger governs how far a key must return before it can register again; SOCD behavior governs what happens when certain opposing or simultaneous inputs are detected. Configure it only when your game and ruleset permit that behavior. Test the resulting movement in the game rather than assuming that a rapid-trigger setting changes SOCD behavior.
What 8 kHz scanning and polling mean
The PRO X2 RAPID is specified with 8 kHz scanning and USB polling. Those specifications describe how frequently the keyboard scans its switches and reports over USB. They do not replace actuation or rapid-trigger tuning: a very fast report rate cannot prevent an overly sensitive key from being activated accidentally, and it cannot make a key register before the actuation point you selected.
If a computer or game behaves poorly at the advertised rate, troubleshoot the connection and software environment before attributing the issue to the actuation setting. Use a direct USB connection, keep G HUB current and test with other USB ports or applications to isolate the cause.

Profiles for different games and typing
Save a separate G HUB profile when a game needs different movement behavior from your normal desktop use. A practical profile set might separate:
- Competitive movement: rapid trigger on selected movement keys, tuned through in-game tests.
- General gaming: moderate values on movement and action keys for a balance of responsiveness and stability.
- Typing: deeper or less sensitive settings if light contact during long sessions causes unwanted characters.
Keep the profile name tied to the game or purpose. When you change a value, record which keys changed and what symptom you were correcting; that makes it easier to return to a known-good configuration.

Troubleshooting common problems
A key activates when you barely touch it
- Increase that key’s rapid-trigger reset distance.
- Use a deeper actuation point within the 0.1–4 mm range.
- Test again with your normal hand position, not with a fingertip deliberately hovering over the switch.
A key feels slow to react
- Shorten its actuation point in small 0.05 mm steps.
- If the delay is during repeated presses rather than the first press, reduce the rapid-trigger reset distance gradually.
- Change only one variable at a time so you can tell whether the improvement came from actuation or reset behavior.
Rapid trigger seems to do nothing
- Confirm that rapid trigger is enabled for the specific key; it is not automatically a global behavior for every key.
- Check that the correct G HUB profile is active.
- Test a repeated action that requires a release and press, rather than judging it from a single keypress.
The OLED and G HUB show different values
- Save the intended configuration in G HUB after making software changes.
- After an OLED adjustment, verify which profile or onboard state is active before testing.
- Update G HUB and the keyboard firmware if Logitech presents an update, then recheck the settings.
You want to configure without software
Use the onboard OLED path described in Logitech’s “PRO X TKL RAPID – Setting Actuation Point & Rapid Trigger without G HUB” support article and the current quick-start guide. Because the retrieved documentation does not publish a complete universal key sequence, do not rely on an older shortcut list copied from another firmware version.

How to judge whether your setup is good
A successful configuration is not the one with the shortest numbers; it is the one that produces the intended input consistently. Evaluate each profile against these checks:
- Movement starts and stops when expected.
- Opposing movement inputs behave according to the game’s rules and your selected Key Priority setting.
- Repeated actions register reliably without extra activations.
- Resting fingers, keycap contact and hand repositioning do not trigger commands.
- The same keys feel consistent across several minutes of play, not just one test press.
Once those checks pass, stop changing values. Continual micro-adjustment can make muscle memory less reliable than a slightly less aggressive setting that remains stable.
