The vivo Vision headset (also called vivo Vision Discovery Edition) is a mixed-reality device for immersive and 3D video, panoramic photos, floating multi-window workspaces, and eye-hand interaction. The available official product pages do not publish a complete first-use procedure, so do not guess the charging, power-on, fitting, calibration, phone-pairing, media-import, or shutdown steps. Use the headset-specific manual supplied with your unit, or the vivo support documentation for your country, for those operations.
This guide explains what vivo documents, how to prepare a safe setup, which phones are named for a phone-linked feature, how the viewing modes differ, and what to check when a documented feature does not behave as expected.
What the vivo Vision headset is
vivo introduced vivo Vision Discovery Edition as its first mixed-reality headset in an announcement dated March 29, 2025. It combines a head-mounted display with virtual screens and immersive media experiences. The regional product pages describe the following capabilities:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- Immersive video with a 180-degree panoramic view.
- Spatial playback of 3D photos and videos shot on a phone.
- Panoramic-photo viewing at the original aspect ratio.
- A multi-window display in which windows can be moved, resized, and pinned.
- Eye-hand interaction rather than relying solely on a physical controller.
- An interactive drumming game used as an example of eye-and-hand input.
These are vivo’s feature descriptions, not independent test results. The sources do not establish a complete application list, supported streaming services, battery runtime, field of view, refresh rate, or independent comfort and performance measurements.

- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Window mode and Immersive mode
The product information distinguishes between Window mode and Immersive mode. Window mode presents virtual displays that can be arranged in the user’s surroundings. Immersive mode is intended to fill more of the view with the selected experience. The distinction matters because Auto Recenter is documented only for Window mode.
What “120-Foot Screen” means
vivo markets a “120-Foot Screen” based on an equivalent viewing distance of 100 metres. That is a manufacturer comparison from laboratory testing, not a physical screen measuring 120 feet across. vivo notes that perceived size can vary with the selected theme, so treat the figure as an indication of the intended cinema-like scale rather than a universal viewing result.
Before you set up the headset
Confirm the exact edition and region
Check the name printed on the headset, packaging, and manual. The sources describe vivo Vision and vivo Vision Discovery Edition, with specifications and feature notes published on regional vivo pages. Menus, included accessories, phone support, and availability can differ by country. A manual for a different regional model may not match your unit.

The official material available for this product does not document a complete first-use sequence. In particular, it does not specify how to charge the headset, turn it on, adjust the fit, perform vision or display calibration, enable hand tracking, pair a phone, import media, or shut the headset down. Use the headset-specific printed manual or the support page for your region for each of those actions. Do not substitute instructions from a vivo phone manual; those documents do not describe this headset.
Prepare a controlled area
Choose an uncluttered indoor or outdoor location where you can stand or sit without entering traffic or the path of moving equipment. Remove trip hazards and keep enough room for normal head and hand movement. vivo’s official warning says: “Use vivo Vision only in controlled indoor and outdoor spaces. Always be aware of your surroundings and body posture while using it. Never use vivo Vision on roads, streets, or near moving objects where collisions may occur.”
Check vision-correction needs
vivo describes support for optical inserts. If you need prescription correction, verify the insert type, prescription range, ordering process, and local availability for your exact headset before use. The cited product page does not establish compatibility with third-party inserts or confirm that inserts are sold separately in every market. Do not force ordinary spectacles or an insert that was not specified for the headset.

Phone compatibility: what is actually documented
A numbered caveat on the regional product page names three phones as currently supported models for the relevant phone-linked feature:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches| Named model | Qualification |
|---|---|
| vivo X200 Ultra | Listed by vivo for the relevant phone-linked feature |
| vivo X100 Ultra | Listed by vivo for the relevant phone-linked feature |
| iQOO 13 | Listed by vivo for the relevant phone-linked feature |
vivo warns that availability of these models can vary by country or region. The list should not be interpreted as a complete compatibility list for every headset function. It does not prove that other phones cannot display content, nor does it establish that all three models support every feature. Check the regional product information and the headset manual before buying or attempting a phone-dependent workflow.
How to complete the first-use setup without guessing
The safest approach is to use the official manual as the operational authority and use the following checklist to make sure no important preparation is skipped.
- Identify the regional model. Match the model name and any regional designation on the packaging with the manual and support page.
- Inventory the headset and accessories. Compare what is in the box with the manual’s contents list. The published weight reference includes the headset, S1 light seal, S1 foam padding, and double-loop band, but the page does not establish that every regional package contains every accessory.
- Choose the band and face interface specified for your fit. vivo describes interchangeable single-loop and dual-loop bands. Follow the manual’s instructions for changing or securing them rather than improvising attachment points.
- Install approved optical inserts if required. Confirm that the insert is the correct accessory for your prescription and market before fitting it.
- Perform charging and power-on exactly as documented. The available product pages do not state the connector, charging indicator, charge time, power button behavior, or startup sequence.
- Complete any fit, display, vision, or hand-tracking calibration shown by the headset. The sources do not provide the screens or controls for these procedures, so follow the on-device prompts and the manual for your unit.
- Pair a phone only if your intended feature requires it. Use the documented regional procedure and verify that your model is supported for that specific function.
- Start in a controlled space. Before launching immersive content, confirm that you can remain aware of the room and keep your posture stable.
If your manual is missing, contact vivo support for the country where the headset was purchased. A generic phone guide is not an adequate replacement for headset-specific instructions.
Fit, bands, weight, and optical inserts
Choosing between the band styles
vivo describes two interchangeable options: a single-loop band and a dual-loop band. The single-loop design may be preferable when you want a simpler strap arrangement, while the dual-loop design is intended to distribute support across more than one point. Those are practical considerations, not a claim that one style is universally more comfortable. Select the option that the manual identifies as compatible with your face interface and use the supplied adjustment method.
Understanding the published weight
vivo’s Indonesia product page gives an approximate weight of 398 grams, including the headset, S1 light seal, S1 foam padding, and double-loop band. vivo says the number comes from laboratory testing and that the actual weight varies with accessories. A different band, seal, or optical-insert configuration can therefore change the balance you feel on your face.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Fit checks before launching content
- The seal and padding should sit as described by the manual, without forcing the headset against your face.
- The display should remain stable when you make normal head movements.
- Prescription users should confirm that the optical insert is secure and does not interfere with the face interface.
- If you cannot obtain a clear, stable view using the documented adjustments, stop and consult vivo support rather than tightening the band indefinitely.
Using the display and interaction features
Auto Recenter
Auto Recenter aligns the screen as you turn your head, according to vivo. The product caveat is explicit: Auto Recenter is supported only in Window mode and not in Immersive mode. If you do not see the option or it does not act as expected while immersive content is running, switch to Window mode using the headset’s documented controls and check again. Do not treat the absence of Auto Recenter in Immersive mode as a hardware failure.
Multi-window workspaces
vivo describes windows that can be moved, resized, and pinned. This makes the headset suitable for arranging several pieces of information around you, but the same page warns that opening too many virtual windows can increase system load and affect smoothness and the overall experience.
Begin with only the windows you need. Add another window only after the current arrangement is stable, and close or unpin windows that no longer serve a purpose. If the interface becomes less smooth after expanding the workspace, reduce the number of open windows before assuming that the headset or source media is defective.

Eye-hand interaction
The product pages describe eye-hand interaction and illustrate it with an interactive drumming game. The sources do not specify the exact gesture vocabulary, tracking range, lighting requirements, or calibration screens. Follow the on-device tutorial and manual for those details. Keep your hands away from nearby objects and maintain awareness of your surroundings while interacting.
Watching immersive and 3D media
Immersive video
The Malaysia product page describes immersive video with a 180-degree panoramic view. Use the media workflow documented for your regional headset to open the content; the available sources do not state whether files are loaded locally, transferred from a phone, or accessed through a particular application or service.
Because a 180-degree view surrounds more of your visual field than an ordinary video, select content only after you are seated or standing safely in the controlled area described by vivo. Do not use immersive video while walking near traffic, machinery, stairs, or other moving hazards.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Spatial photos and videos
vivo says the headset can play spatial 3D photos and videos shot on a phone. The phone model list in the product caveat applies to a relevant phone-linked feature, but the sources do not define every camera, file-format, transfer, or account requirement. Verify the supported capture and import process in the manual for your region.
Panoramic photos
The product page says panoramic photos can be viewed in their original aspect ratio. This is different from the 180-degree immersive-video description: a panoramic still is presented according to its source composition rather than being treated as a conventional flat image stretched to fill the display. Use the regional instructions for importing or opening the photograph.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Safety and session management
Stay in a controlled space
The official safety wording is the governing rule: use vivo Vision only in controlled indoor and outdoor spaces, remain aware of your surroundings and body posture, and never use it on roads, streets, or near moving objects where a collision could occur.
In practice, tell people nearby that you are wearing a headset, keep the floor clear, and stop the session before moving to another location. These precautions support the manufacturer’s requirement for a controlled environment; they do not replace the manual’s safety instructions.
Manage posture and awareness
Settle into a stable standing or seated position before launching immersive content. Keep enough room for your hands if you are using eye-hand interaction. If you lose awareness of the room, stop the content and remove the headset before relocating.
Keep the workspace responsive
Opening too many virtual windows can increase system load and reduce smoothness, according to vivo. A simpler workspace is therefore preferable when you are watching immersive content or using hand interaction. Close unnecessary windows before troubleshooting other aspects of the experience.

Troubleshooting documented limitations
Auto Recenter is missing
First check the mode. Auto Recenter is documented for Window mode only and is not supported in Immersive mode. If it remains unavailable in Window mode, consult the headset manual for the regional software behavior and contact vivo support; the available product pages do not provide a reset or calibration sequence.
The experience becomes less smooth
Count the open virtual windows and reduce them. vivo specifically warns that too many windows can increase system load and affect smoothness. Re-test with a minimal layout before investigating the media source or phone connection.
Your phone is not recognized for a phone-linked feature
Confirm the exact feature you are trying to use, then compare your phone with the three models named by vivo: vivo X200 Ultra, vivo X100 Ultra, and iQOO 13. Check country or regional availability, because vivo says it can vary. Do not infer that an unlisted phone is supported merely because it can record ordinary photos or videos.
Recommended Free Tools
The fit is unstable or vision correction does not work
Recheck the manual’s band and face-interface procedure, and verify that any optical insert is the correct accessory for your prescription and market. The published material does not establish third-party insert compatibility, so seek confirmation from vivo rather than modifying the headset.
You cannot find a setup instruction
The regional product pages do not publish first-use charging, power, calibration, pairing, media-import, or shutdown steps. Look for the headset-specific manual supplied with the unit or the support materials for the purchase region. Avoid borrowing a procedure from another vivo product.

What the sources do not establish
Several commonly requested details are not specified in the cited official materials. There is no documented battery capacity or runtime, charging time, connector type, startup or shutdown sequence, controller specification, operating-system version, app-store catalog, supported streaming-service list, media file-format list, hand-tracking requirements, or independent performance benchmark. There is also no third-party study verifying the comfort, display quality, tracking accuracy, or frame-rate behavior.

A practical first-session checklist
- Confirm that the device is vivo Vision or vivo Vision Discovery Edition and identify its sales region.
- Have the headset-specific manual available before charging or powering on.
- Inspect the supplied light seal, foam padding, and band components against the regional contents list.
- Choose the documented single-loop or dual-loop configuration that fits your use.
- Verify optical-insert requirements if you wear prescription lenses.
- Set up in a controlled space away from roads, streets, and moving objects.
- Complete the manual’s charging, power, fit, calibration, and hand-tracking instructions.
- Check phone support for the specific phone-linked feature you intend to use.
- Start with a small number of windows, then add and arrange them gradually.
- Use Window mode when you need Auto Recenter; do not expect it in Immersive mode.
- Stop and consult regional support if the fit, optical insert, pairing, or startup behavior does not match the manual.
Bottom line
vivo Vision is a mixed-reality headset centered on panoramic and 3D media, arranged virtual windows, and eye-hand interaction. Its documented limits are just as important as its feature list: Auto Recenter works only in Window mode, the named phone support is regional and feature-specific, too many windows can reduce smoothness, and safe use requires a controlled environment. Because vivo’s published pages do not provide the mechanical first-use procedure, set up the headset from the manual for your exact regional unit rather than following an invented or borrowed sequence.
