To pair the Marshall Bromley 150, turn it on, select Bluetooth with the Source selector, hold that selector for two seconds until the Bluetooth LED slowly pulses, then choose Bromley 150 in your phone, tablet or computer’s Bluetooth list.
What you need before pairing
Pairing works only after the speaker is switched on and placed in Bluetooth mode. Have the source device nearby with Bluetooth enabled, and keep the initial volume low on both the Bromley 150 and the source device. Marshall includes this low-volume precaution in its getting-started guidance because the first connection can restore audio at a level you are not expecting.
- Speaker: Marshall Bromley 150 powered on with its power switch.
- Source device: A phone, tablet or computer with Bluetooth settings available.
- Bluetooth mode: Selected with the Source selector button.
- Pairing indication: The Bluetooth source LED changes to a slow pulse.
- Optional maintenance: The Marshall Bluetooth app, used to check for firmware updates.
The speaker can also accept wired audio. A 3.5 mm AUX lead and a USB-C audio connection are alternatives if you do not want to use Bluetooth, but Marshall says audio leads are not included.

Select Bluetooth as the source
Press the Source selector button to select Bluetooth. Selecting the source is separate from putting the speaker into discoverable pairing mode.
-
Enter pairing mode
Push and hold the Source selector button for two seconds. Release it when the Bluetooth source LED turns to a slow pulse. That slow pulse is the signal that the speaker is ready to be found.
-
Open Bluetooth settings on the source device
On your phone, tablet or computer, open the device’s Bluetooth settings and start a scan for nearby devices. Keep the source device close to the speaker while the list refreshes.

Once connected, the source device normally routes its Bluetooth audio to the speaker. If the name does not appear, leave the Bluetooth settings open and use the troubleshooting sequence below rather than repeatedly pressing random controls.
Update firmware after the first connection
Marshall’s companion application is called the Marshall Bluetooth app. Marshall directs owners to connect the product to this app and check for firmware updates. Firmware and app behavior can change over time, so the update option shown in the current app is the authoritative path for your unit.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Install or open the Marshall Bluetooth app on your source device.
- Connect to the Bromley 150 when the app prompts you to select a product.
- Open the product’s firmware or update area and check for an available update.
- Keep the speaker powered and the source device nearby until the update finishes.
The app is not required for the basic Bluetooth pairing sequence. You can pair from the operating system’s Bluetooth settings using the Source selector and the device name alone.
Connect two Bluetooth devices
The Bromley 150 supports two simultaneous Bluetooth connections. It also remembers up to 10 previously paired devices, according to Marshall. These are separate capabilities: two devices may be connected at once, while a larger list of remembered devices can be available for reconnection later.
How reconnection works
When a remembered device is in range, the speaker attempts to reconnect to the last connected device. If you want another remembered phone or computer to take over, check which device is currently connected and temporarily disable Bluetooth on the device that is reclaiming the connection. Then put the Bromley 150 back into pairing mode if the second device needs to establish a new connection.

Managing a crowded remembered-device list
Marshall documents the 10-device memory limit but does not publish a separate Bromley 150 button sequence for deleting one entry at a time. Use the Bluetooth settings on your source device to remove or forget the Bromley 150 when you no longer want that source to reconnect automatically. If you have more than 10 devices that need regular access, keeping unused devices’ Bluetooth turned off near the speaker reduces unwanted reconnection attempts.
If Bromley 150 does not appear in Bluetooth settings
Check the source and LED state first
The most common setup error is scanning before the speaker is in Bluetooth pairing mode. Press the Source selector until Bluetooth is selected, then hold it for two seconds and wait for the Bluetooth source LED to slowly pulse. Rescan the source device’s Bluetooth list only after that indication appears.
Another device is reconnecting
A remembered phone, tablet or computer may reconnect automatically because the Bromley 150 tries the last connected device when it is in range. Move that device away or switch off its Bluetooth temporarily, then repeat the two-second Source-selector hold and scan from the device you actually want to pair.
The device list is stale
Close and reopen the Bluetooth settings screen or start a fresh scan on the phone, tablet or computer. Keep the speaker in the slow-pulse state while scanning. Selecting the exact entry Bromley 150 matters; a stale list may continue to show an earlier state until it is refreshed.
The speaker is connected but there is no sound
- Confirm that the source device shows Bromley 150 as the active audio output, not merely as a saved device.
- Raise the source and speaker volume slowly from their low starting levels.
- Pause and resume playback after the connection is established.
- If two devices are connected, stop audio on the other device so it does not take control of the speaker’s output.
These checks address routing and connection state without changing the speaker’s saved pairings.

Pairing remains unsuitable
Use a wired input instead. Marshall lists both AUX IN with a 3.5 mm stereo lead and USB-C audio as alternatives to Bluetooth. The required audio leads are not supplied with the speaker, so you must provide a compatible cable.
Use AUX or USB-C audio instead of Bluetooth
AUX IN
Connect the source device to AUX IN with a 3.5 mm stereo lead. This is useful for a source that has no working Bluetooth radio or when you want a direct cable connection. Because Marshall does not include the lead, check that your source has a 3.5 mm output or use the appropriate adapter before choosing this method.
USB-C audio
USB-C audio provides another wired path from a compatible source device. Use a cable that supports audio, not only charging. Marshall identifies USB-C audio as an alternative input, but the supplied information does not specify every operating-system prompt or cable type; follow the source device’s own USB-audio instructions if it asks for permission or output selection.
Bluetooth pairing and wired playback are different connection methods. A failed Bluetooth scan does not prevent you from using AUX or USB-C, and a connected cable does not erase the speaker’s remembered Bluetooth devices.
Bluetooth capability, range and simultaneous use
Marshall lists Bluetooth 5.3 Auracast, multipoint support and a range above 70 m (229 ft) in free field for the Bromley 150. The range figure is a manufacturer specification measured in an unobstructed free-field setting; walls, floors, people and radio interference can reduce practical distance indoors.

| Bluetooth characteristic | Marshall’s stated specification | What it means for setup |
|---|---|---|
| Bluetooth version | Bluetooth 5.3 Auracast | The speaker uses a current Bluetooth implementation and supports the listed Auracast capability. |
| Multipoint | Supported | Up to two Bluetooth devices can be connected at the same time. |
| Remembered devices | Up to 10 | The speaker can retain pairing information for as many as 10 previously paired devices. |
| Claimed range | More than 70 m (229 ft) in free field | Use the figure as an unobstructed-distance specification, not a guaranteed indoor distance. |
Auracast and multipoint describe Bluetooth capabilities; they do not change the initial pairing controls. You still select Bluetooth, hold the Source selector for two seconds, wait for the slow-pulsing LED and choose Bromley 150 on the source device.

Marshall describes the Bromley 150 as a portable party speaker released in 2026 with more than 40 hours of playtime. Playtime depends on use conditions, including volume and source activity, so the 40-plus-hour figure is a manufacturer claim rather than a guaranteed duration for every session.
| Power detail | Published figure | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Playtime | 40+ hours | Marshall Group AB product information, 2026. |
| Quick charge | 20 minutes provides 5 hours of playtime | Marshall Group AB product information, 2026. |
| Full recharge | 3 hours | Marshall Group AB product information, 2026. |
| Weight | 6.3 kg / 13.9 lb | Marshall Group AB product information, 2026. |
| Battery design | Replaceable Marshall Battery 415 | Battery is pre-installed; spare parts and authorised repairs depend on market availability. |
The replaceable battery is relevant if you plan to keep the speaker for years: Marshall says the Battery 415 can be replaced and that spare parts and authorised repairs are available subject to market availability. Availability, service terms and local support can differ by market, so confirm those details with Marshall when a replacement is needed.

If you need several hours of playback, the published quick-charge figure says 20 minutes of charging can provide five hours of playtime. A full recharge is specified at three hours. Treat both numbers as Marshall’s 2026 product figures; actual time can vary with battery condition and use.
A practical pairing routine for repeat use
- Turn on the Bromley 150 with the power switch.
- Let it attempt its normal reconnection to the last connected remembered device.
- If that is not the device you want, disable Bluetooth on the reconnecting device or move it out of range.
- Select Bluetooth with the Source selector.
- Hold the Source selector for two seconds until the LED slowly pulses.
- Choose Bromley 150 from the intended source device’s Bluetooth list.
- Start at a low volume and raise it gradually.
This routine uses the speaker’s documented reconnection behavior while preserving its ability to remember up to 10 devices. It also avoids assuming that a saved pairing is the same thing as an active audio connection.
When to choose Bluetooth, AUX or USB-C
| Situation | Best connection to try | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Phone or computer has working Bluetooth and you want wireless playback | Bluetooth | Uses the speaker’s standard pairing process and supports multipoint. |
| Bluetooth discovery is not completing | AUX IN | A 3.5 mm stereo cable bypasses wireless discovery. |
| Your source supports USB audio and you prefer a digital cable | USB-C audio | Marshall lists USB-C audio as a wired alternative. |
| You need two sources available | Bluetooth multipoint | The Bromley 150 can connect to two Bluetooth devices at once. |
| You are planning long-term ownership | Any supported input, with battery service planned | The Marshall Battery 415 is replaceable, subject to parts and repair availability in your market. |
The choice does not affect the speaker’s pairing memory. Wired playback is simply an alternative when Bluetooth is inconvenient or unavailable.
Diagnostic checklist
- Is the speaker powered on?
- Is Bluetooth selected with the Source selector?
- Did you hold the Source selector for the full two seconds?
- Is the Bluetooth source LED slowly pulsing?
- Are you scanning from the device you actually want to connect?
- Could the last connected device be reconnecting automatically?
- Does the Bluetooth list show the exact name Bromley 150?
- Are both the source and speaker volumes low enough to start safely but high enough to hear?
- If wireless pairing still fails, do you have a 3.5 mm stereo or USB-C audio lead for a wired connection?
- After pairing, have you checked the Marshall Bluetooth app for firmware updates?
If the LED never reaches the slow-pulse state after selecting Bluetooth and holding the Source selector, repeat the sequence from the beginning with the speaker powered on. If the speaker appears but will not produce audio, verify active output selection and test a wired input to separate a Bluetooth problem from a general audio problem.
