For the Govee RGBICW Smart Floor Lamp Basic, model H6076, the normal setup is: assemble the pole and base, add the lamp in Govee Home, connect it to 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi or Bluetooth as prompted, and then use the app for power, color, brightness, effects, and groups. The control box works without the app, while Alexa, Google Assistant, Matter, and optional LAN control are additional paths rather than requirements.
Confirm that your lamp is the H6076
Govee sells several floor lamps with similar names. This guide is specifically for the Govee RGBICW Smart Floor Lamp Basic, identified as H6076. Govee’s specifications also call it the “Govee RGBICW Floor Lamp Basic.” Check the model label on the packaging, product label, or device information in Govee Home before following instructions. Another Govee floor lamp may use different controls, connectivity, or app screens.
H6076 is an RGBICW lamp: it can produce colored light and white light, with individually controlled lighting segments for effects. Govee lists these manufacturer specifications:

What you need before setup
Have the lamp, its base and pole pieces, the supplied power equipment, and the printed assembly instructions available. Assemble it near the location where it will stand, but leave enough room to turn the base and route the cable without sharply bending it.
- Verify that the model marking says H6076.
- Install the current Govee Home app on your phone or tablet.
- Have access to a 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network if you want Wi‑Fi features, remote access, LAN control, or smart-home integration.
- Keep Bluetooth enabled during the initial device-discovery process if the app requests it.
- Choose a stable, level floor location with a nearby power outlet.
Govee’s published material does not specify a required account sequence, a particular pairing mode, or the exact current pairing screens. Use the prompts shown by your version of Govee Home rather than relying on screenshots from an older app release.
Assemble the lamp safely
Use the instructions included in the box for the complete sequence and hardware details. Govee’s product instructions describe the following overall process:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors- Insert the connecting piece into the appropriate pole section.
- Join the pole sections in the order shown in the supplied instructions. Make sure each connection is fully seated before moving to the next one.
- Route the wire into the base as directed, keeping it clear of connection points and the base’s contact surfaces.
- Attach the strip light to the pole. Press it into position from the middle toward both sides so it follows the pole without large pockets or folds.
- Secure the pole to the base using the supplied hardware and place the finished lamp upright on a level surface.
- Connect the power equipment only after the mechanical assembly is complete and the cable is routed as instructed.
Do not improvise missing hardware or force a connector that does not align. If a section will not seat, separate it and check the orientation against the paper instructions. The published product information does not establish that any extra tool, replacement part, or accessory is required for normal assembly.
Add H6076 in Govee Home
Govee Home is the primary setup and control route. The app is where Govee says you can add and manage devices, control power, select colors, adjust brightness, choose effects, and group compatible lights.

- Open Govee Home on your phone or tablet.
- Use the app’s add-device control and select the floor-lamp entry that matches H6076. If the app offers a scan or nearby-device discovery option, follow that current prompt.
- When requested, allow the Bluetooth or local-network permissions needed by your operating system and the app. These labels vary by phone and software version.
- Choose the H6076 device when it appears, then follow the in-app instructions for connecting it to your 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network if Wi‑Fi setup is offered.
- Give the lamp a distinctive name, such as “Living room floor lamp,” so it is easy to identify later in the app or a voice platform.
- Finish the app’s test or save step, then open the device page and confirm that the lamp responds to an on/off command.
The official pages reviewed do not document the exact current pairing screens, so a screen that differs from this sequence is not necessarily an error. Continue with the equivalent prompt in your release of Govee Home. If H6076 does not appear, confirm that it has power, Bluetooth is enabled, and the phone is close to the lamp before trying discovery again.
Control power, color, brightness, and effects
Open H6076’s device page in Govee Home after it has been added. Govee identifies the following functions as app controls:
Power
Use the on/off control to switch the lamp remotely from the device page. A successful response confirms that the app is communicating with the lamp. Remote operation depends on the connection state shown by the app; a phone that is merely nearby is not the same as a lamp that is connected to Wi‑Fi for remote access.
Color and white light
Choose a color or a white-light setting from the device controls. RGBICW hardware combines colored channels with a white-light channel, so a white setting and a saturated color can look different even at the same brightness percentage. Select the setting that matches the task—neutral or white light for general illumination, or a colored setting for ambience—rather than assuming one slider represents every type of light identically.
Brightness
Adjust the brightness control gradually. The 1,000-lumen figure is H6076’s manufacturer rating at the product level, not a guaranteed room illuminance value at every setting. A low brightness level may be comfortable near a seating area, while a higher level can provide more visual impact when the lamp is used as an accent.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Lighting effects
Open the effects or scene area to choose an available preset. RGBIC effects can display multiple colors or moving patterns across segments. The names and catalog of effects can change with app updates; select from what your H6076 device page currently offers instead of following a fixed list from an older version.
Groups
Govee says the app supports group control. Use a group when you want compatible lights to respond together, such as turning several room lights on or applying a coordinated scene. Add only the devices you intend to operate together, and test the group with a simple power command before applying a more complex effect.
Use the physical control box
H6076 includes a control box as a listed control method. It provides a way to operate the lamp without opening Govee Home or connecting a voice assistant. Keep the control box accessible after installation rather than trapping it behind furniture.
Govee’s reviewed H6076 material does not publish a button-by-button map for the control box. Do not assume that a button has a particular function based on another Govee lamp. Use the labels and instructions supplied with your unit, and observe the lamp’s response when testing a control. If a function is unclear, the app’s device page is the authoritative visible control surface for power, color, brightness, and effects.
Do you need Alexa or Google Assistant?
No. Govee’s FAQ says: “You can use Govee Home App to change colors, brightness, and turn lights on and off.” That means an Alexa or Google Assistant device is optional for basic H6076 operation. You can assemble the lamp, add it to Govee Home, and control the functions listed above from the app alone.

Voice control is useful when you want hands-free power changes or when the lamp is grouped with other smart-home devices. H6076’s product information lists Alexa, Google Assistant, and Matter, but compatibility and setup can depend on the exact device, region, app release, and smart-home configuration.
General voice-platform setup
- Complete H6076 setup in Govee Home first and give it a clear, unique name.
- Open the smart-home platform’s current device-add or service-linking flow.
- Choose the Govee integration offered by that platform, sign in when prompted, and authorize device access.
- Run the platform’s device discovery step and check that the lamp appears with the name you assigned.
- Test a basic on/off command before creating routines or assigning the lamp to a room.
Govee has an older Alexa guide written for strip lights. It describes naming a device, enabling the Govee Home Alexa skill, signing in, and discovering devices, but it is not verified H6076-specific documentation. Treat the current prompts in your Alexa, Google Home, or Matter-compatible setup as controlling if they differ from that older guide.
Connect H6076 to Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth
Govee lists both 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth for this model. Bluetooth is useful for nearby discovery and direct local interaction during setup. Wi‑Fi supports the app’s network features and is required for the optional LAN-control path described by Govee.
If setup fails on a dual-band router, make sure the phone and lamp are being provisioned through the router’s 2.4 GHz network. A 5 GHz-only network cannot satisfy the 2.4 GHz requirement listed for H6076. Router band-steering names and menus differ, so use the router’s own documentation to expose or select its 2.4 GHz network when necessary.

Enable optional LAN control
LAN control is an advanced, optional feature. It is not needed for ordinary app operation, and the lamp must already be added in Govee Home and connected to Wi‑Fi before you look for it.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
- Add H6076 to Govee Home and verify that its Wi‑Fi connection is complete.
- Open the lamp’s device settings in Govee Home.
- Look for the LAN-control switch and enable it if the option is available for your device.
- Keep the lamp and the controlling device on the same local network when using LAN commands.
Govee says that a supported device may need to be power-cycled if the LAN switch does not appear. After the power cycle, wait about 30 minutes and check the device settings again. If the switch remains unavailable, contact Govee support. The presence of a LAN option can depend on device support and current software, so its absence does not mean ordinary app control is incorrectly configured.
Troubleshoot setup and control problems
The lamp does not power on
- Check that every pole and base connection is fully seated.
- Verify that the power equipment is connected as shown in the supplied instructions.
- Try the physical control box.
- Inspect the cable routing for a connector that was pulled loose during assembly.
If the lamp still shows no response, stop rather than repeatedly forcing connectors. Recheck the printed assembly sequence and contact support if the hardware appears damaged.
H6076 is not found in Govee Home
- Confirm the model label is H6076.
- Keep the phone close to the lamp and enable Bluetooth.
- Make sure the lamp is powered and not already being configured from another phone.
- Restart the add-device flow and follow the current H6076 prompt in the app.
Wi‑Fi setup will not complete
- Use a 2.4 GHz network, since that is the band Govee lists for H6076.
- Check the Wi‑Fi password and move the lamp temporarily closer to the router if the signal is weak.
- Complete Bluetooth discovery first if the app presents it as part of setup.
- After changing router settings, repeat the app’s device-add or network-configuration flow rather than assuming the old attempt updated itself.
The app controls the lamp nearby but not remotely
Nearby operation may be using Bluetooth while remote operation needs the lamp’s Wi‑Fi connection. Open the device information in Govee Home and verify that Wi‑Fi setup completed. If you are specifically trying to use LAN control, confirm that the LAN switch is enabled and that both devices are on the same local network.
Recommended Free Tools
The LAN switch is missing
LAN control is optional and model- or software-dependent. Confirm that H6076 is added and connected to Wi‑Fi, power-cycle the lamp, wait about 30 minutes, and check its device settings again. Contact Govee support if the option remains unavailable.
Voice commands cannot find the lamp
- Confirm that H6076 works in Govee Home first.
- Check that the integration or Matter setup was completed in the current smart-home app.
- Run device discovery again and use the exact name assigned to the lamp.
- Avoid duplicate names if multiple lights are installed.
Choose the right control method for your routine
| Method | Best use | What it requires |
|---|---|---|
| Govee Home | Full day-to-day control of power, color, brightness, effects, and groups | H6076 added to the app; Wi‑Fi or Bluetooth as applicable |
| Control box | Immediate local operation without a phone or assistant | Physical access to the supplied control box |
| Alexa or Google Assistant | Hands-free commands and smart-home routines | Completed H6076 setup plus the relevant platform integration |
| Matter | Use within a compatible Matter smart-home environment | Compatible controller and current setup prompts |
| LAN control | Advanced local-network control | H6076 added to Govee Home, Wi‑Fi connected, and LAN switch available |
Placement and everyday operation
Stand the 53.7-inch (1,363 mm) lamp on a level surface where the 7.9 × 7.9-inch (200 × 200 mm) base will not be kicked or caught by a cable. Leave the control box reachable and avoid placing the light strip where furniture will press against it. Because the lamp is rated at 24 W and 12 V, use the supplied power equipment and do not substitute an unverified adapter.
Use groups for coordinated scenes, but keep H6076’s individual device page available for troubleshooting. If a scene looks too intense, lower brightness before changing the color; if white light looks different from a colored scene, select the white-light control rather than trying to approximate it with a pale RGB color.
What this setup does—and does not—require
- You do not need Alexa or Google Assistant to turn the lamp on, change colors, adjust brightness, or select effects.
- You do not need LAN control for standard app use.
- You do need to identify the exact model, assemble it according to the supplied instructions, and add it in Govee Home.
- You need 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi for Wi‑Fi-dependent features; Bluetooth is also listed for H6076.
- You should not assume another Govee lamp’s control-box buttons or app screens match H6076.
Once H6076 is assembled and visible in Govee Home, the app is the dependable starting point: use it to verify power, configure the light, connect Wi‑Fi, and add optional voice or LAN features only when you need them.
