Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks, a built-in mod installer and up to three free backups a day.
To set up an All the Mods 10: Aeronautics server, download the server archive for the exact ATM10AERO release your players will install, extract it into a writable folder, run the supplied startup script once, accept the Minecraft EULA, and start it again. The current CurseForge project release is ATM10AERO-0.7.1 for Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge (updated September 30, 2026). Every connecting client must use that same pack release, Minecraft version, loader, and compatible configuration.
Plan for at least 6 GB of allocated memory, the Java runtime required by your selected release, adequate disk space, and a reliable backup routine. The instructions below cover Windows, Linux, and managed server providers, including first launch, configuration, updates, and the failures that most often prevent a modded server from starting.

What ATM10 Aeronautics is and what the server must match
All the Mods 10 Aeronautics (ATM10A or ATM10AERO) is an ATMTeam modpack variant for Minecraft 1.21.1 using NeoForge. It adds custom items and pipes, changes balance and power systems, and overhauls world generation. Aeronautics features are optional in play: the project description says the pack can be enjoyed without using them, but the server still has to run the Aeronautics pack rather than an ordinary ATM10 installation.
The official AllTheMods GitHub repository identifies itself as the repository and issue tracker for “All The Mods 10 – Aeronautics 1.21.1.” CurseForge showed 186,762 downloads when the project information was accessed. Those figures do not establish a player-count limit or a performance guarantee.

Version matching is non-negotiable
Choose one release and install it on every client and on the server. Do not combine a newer client with an older server archive, or copy only the mods from a client installation. A mismatch can produce missing-mod errors, registry differences, rejected connections, or a world that loads with the wrong generation rules.
The project page listed ATM10AERO-0.7.1 as the current release on September 30, 2026. A separate versioned server artifact, server-0.5.1.zip, was listed for Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge and uploaded August 27, 2026. That older filename illustrates the separate server-pack artifact; it is not a reason to use 0.5.1 when your players are installing 0.7.1.

Requirements before you install
| Requirement | What to prepare | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Pack release | One exact ATM10AERO release for all players and the server | Mod, registry, configuration, and world-generation data must agree |
| Minecraft and loader | Minecraft 1.21.1 with the NeoForge version supplied or required by that release | The server and clients must use the same game and loader family |
| Memory | At least 6 GB allocated RAM | This is the baseline in the official All The Mods server guide; it is not a tested player-count guarantee |
| Java | The Java build required by the selected release | Do not assume the Java installed for another Minecraft version is suitable |
| Storage | Free space for the extracted pack, libraries, logs, configurations, and world growth | World and log files expand after installation |
| Writable location | A dedicated directory with read/write access | The installer and server must create and update files |
The guide’s 6 GB figure is an allocation baseline for most ATM packs, not a measured requirement per player. No reliable RAM-per-player table, CPU benchmark, or maximum concurrent-player count is established for ATM10 Aeronautics. If you add players, heavy automation, chunk loaders, or large exploration areas, monitor memory use and tick performance rather than treating 6 GB as a promise.
Choose a safe directory
- On Linux, use a normal home-directory location owned by the account that will run the server.
- On Windows, avoid OneDrive and other cloud-synchronized folders. Synchronization can lock, remove, or replace files while NeoForge is writing them.
- Keep backups outside the live server directory so an update or accidental deletion cannot remove both the running world and its backup.
Download the correct server pack
- Open the ATM10 Aeronautics project on CurseForge.
- Open Files and select the exact release your players will use.
- Within that release, open Additional Files.
- Download that release’s server pack, normally identified as a server-files ZIP. Do not copy a client installation as a substitute.
- Create a dedicated server directory and extract the archive into it, preserving its folder structure.
Keep the downloaded ZIP and note its version before extraction. If the archive contains a supplied startup script, use that script instead of inventing a new launch command. The official guide’s workflow is based on extracting Server-Files.zip and allowing the included installer and scripts to prepare the server.
Install and launch on Windows
First run
- Open the extracted server folder in File Explorer.
- Double-click
startserver.bat. If Windows displays a security prompt, confirm that you obtained the archive from the intended release page before allowing it to run. - Leave the installer and console running until it finishes generating libraries, configuration files, and other required files. The official guide warns that stopping the first installer run can require starting over.
- When the process ends or reports that an EULA file was generated, open
eula.txtin the same folder. - Change the line to
eula=true, save the file, and runstartserver.batagain.
The second run should continue through NeoForge startup and eventually report that the dedicated server has loaded. Keep the console window open while the server is running; closing it normally stops the process.

If the batch file is missing
The server archive may require you to install NeoForge first. From a command prompt opened in the server directory, run:
java -jar neoforge-installer*.jar --installServer
The installer should create the server files and a generated launcher such as run.bat. Use the generated launcher after installation, and follow any release-specific instructions included with the pack.
Install and launch on Linux
- Place the extracted files in a dedicated directory under the account that will run Minecraft, such as a directory in that account’s home folder.
- Open a shell in that directory.
- Make the supplied script executable once:
sudo chmod +x startserver.sh
- Run the script:
./startserver.sh
- Wait for the first installer run to finish. Do not interrupt it while it is generating libraries and configuration files.
- Edit
eula.txtand seteula=true. - Run
./startserver.shagain and wait for the loaded-server message.
If the account does not have permission to write in the directory, move the server to a directory it owns or correct ownership and permissions. Avoid running the whole server as root; use a dedicated, non-root account where practical.
Accept the EULA and verify a successful start
The first start creates eula.txt; it does not grant permission to run the server automatically. You must set eula=true yourself and restart. A successful launch is indicated by the dedicated-server console completing startup without a fatal exception and accepting console commands. At that point, stop it cleanly once before making substantial configuration changes or opening it to players.
Install the identical ATM10AERO release on a client, launch it with Minecraft 1.21.1 and the matching NeoForge loader, and connect using the server’s address. A client from a different release is not a supported test of the server.

Configure the world and access settings
Use server.properties carefully
After the first successful launch, review server.properties for the settings your group needs:
- level-name: the world directory name.
- difficulty: the selected difficulty.
- gamemode: the default game mode.
- view-distance and simulation-distance: how much terrain is sent and simulated around players.
- Whitelist and access controls: whether only approved players may join and which operators can administer the server.
Leave server-ip blank unless your network design specifically requires a bind address. The official guide warns that changing server-ip unnecessarily can prevent the server from starting. Likewise, leave the normal server port unchanged unless you have a concrete networking reason and have configured the firewall and forwarding to match.
Pack configuration directories
Pack-level settings are found in the extracted configs and world/serverconfigs directories. Make configuration edits only after the server has completed one clean launch. Record every change in a separate note so you can reapply intentional settings after a pack update without overwriting them accidentally.
Networking essentials
- For a same-network test, connect using the host computer’s local address.
- For internet players, configure the host firewall and router forwarding only if your network permits it; forward the server’s listening port to the machine running Minecraft.
- Do not expose administrative services or file-transfer credentials to the public internet.
- Use a whitelist for a private group and grant operator privileges only to trusted accounts.
Connecting clients and diagnosing join failures
Before investigating networking, compare the client and server installation details. They should agree on all of the following:

- Minecraft 1.21.1.
- NeoForge loader and the release’s required loader build.
- Pack configuration and any deliberately added or removed files.
If those match, inspect the server console and the client log for the first error rather than the final cascade of messages. A missing mod, registry mismatch, or incompatible configuration normally identifies the offending file or version. Restore the official server-pack files before making further changes.

Using a managed Minecraft server provider
A hosted deployment avoids maintaining the operating system and network hardware, but it does not remove the pack’s version requirements. The simplest option is a provider with a one-click NeoForge or modpack installer that explicitly lists Minecraft 1.21.1 and your selected ATM10 Aeronautics release.
One-click installation
- Confirm the provider offers NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1.
- Select the exact ATM10AERO release, not a similarly named ATM10 pack.
- Allocate at least 6 GB of RAM and verify that the plan’s CPU and storage are suitable for a large modpack.
- Start the installation and wait for the provider to finish extracting files and running the first installer.
- Open the provider’s file manager or console, set
eula=trueineula.txtif required, and start the server again.
Manual upload when no installer exists
- Create a NeoForge server at the version required by the selected pack.
- Upload the extracted server files through FTP, SFTP, or the provider’s file manager. Uploading the server ZIP without extracting it is sufficient only if the provider explicitly supports archive extraction.
- Set the provider’s startup entry point to the supplied launcher, or use the host’s custom-jar/ServerStarter method when its documentation requires a JAR entry point.
- Set the memory allocation, working directory, and Java runtime according to the pack and provider controls.
- Run the server, accept the EULA, and inspect the log for a completed startup before inviting players.
Questions to resolve before paying
| Check | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Compatibility | Current support for Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge, and the exact Aeronautics release |
| Resources | At least 6 GB allocated RAM, usable CPU capacity, and enough persistent storage |
| File access | FTP/SFTP or a file manager that can upload and extract a server pack |
| Backups | Scheduled backups, retention, and a way to download a backup before updates |
| Updates | Whether you can install a specific release instead of being forced onto the newest pack |
| Operations | Console access, log access, restart controls, and Java-version selection |
Provider pricing, player limits, CPU guarantees, and backup terms vary and were not established here. Verify those details directly before choosing a plan. Compare the total monthly cost and any setup fee with the value of not maintaining your own hardware, and consider geographic location because distance affects player latency.
Local versus hosted: which setup fits?
| Factor | Local server | Managed host |
|---|---|---|
| Control | Full control of Java, NeoForge, files, and launch scripts | Depends on the provider’s supported runtimes and controls |
| Up-front cost | Uses an existing computer or requires your own hardware and storage | Usually a recurring fee; exact pricing is provider-specific |
| Networking | You handle firewall, port forwarding, uptime, and public address | Provider supplies the network endpoint and infrastructure |
| Backups | You must schedule and store them yourself | May be included, but retention and download access must be checked |
| Updates | Manual file replacement gives precise release control | May be convenient, but automatic updates can move you off a known-good release |
| Maintenance | You maintain the operating system and hardware | The provider maintains the host platform, while you still maintain pack files and settings |
Choose local hosting when you need complete control and can provide reliable power, storage, networking, and backups. Choose a managed host when uptime and simpler networking matter more than unrestricted system access. In either case, the exact server-pack release remains your responsibility.

- Tell players to log out and stop the server cleanly.
- Copy the entire
worlddirectory to storage outside the live server folder. Keep at least one known-good backup that you have not modified. - Read the target release notes and download its release-specific server pack.
- Compare your custom configuration with the new pack. Do not overwrite the world or blindly replace settings you intentionally changed.
- Replace pack-managed directories such as
kubejs, defaultconfigs, mods, andconfigwith the copies from the new server pack, unless the release instructions say otherwise. - If the NeoForge version changes, replace the
librariesdirectory and the new startup scripts or installer as directed by the official guide. - Preserve documented customizations and reapply them deliberately rather than copying an old configuration over new files.
- Start the updated server with no players connected. Inspect the log, allow world conversion to finish, and test a backup copy if the release makes substantial changes.
- Only after a clean test should you permit players to join.
Never use an in-place overwrite as your only recovery option. A failed update is much easier to reverse when the old server directory and a separate world backup remain intact.

java -jar neoforge-installer*.jar --installServer
Use the generated run.bat on Windows or run.sh on Linux, unless the pack provides a wrapper script that should be preferred.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteJava is rejected or the process exits immediately
Run java -version in the same environment used to launch the server. If multiple Java versions are installed, the startup script may be selecting a different runtime than the one you tested. Set the script or provider runtime to the Java build required by the selected ATM10AERO release; do not choose solely because it worked for another Minecraft pack.
Linux reports “permission denied”
Run chmod +x startserver.sh, confirm the directory and files are readable and writable by the server account, and launch from the directory containing the script. Correct ownership rather than running the server as root.
Startup fails after network edits
Restore a blank server-ip and return to the host’s normal port unless your network design specifically needs custom values. Restart, then configure firewall or forwarding separately.
Clients cannot join
Compare the exact pack release, Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge loader, and configuration on both sides. Remove unapproved client-only additions and check the first server and client log error for a missing or mismatched mod.

The first installer was interrupted
Stop the process, review the console for the file or download that failed, and rerun the supplied installer or startup script from the server directory. If the generated files are incomplete, restore a clean extraction of the same server ZIP and begin the first run again rather than mixing partial files from different releases.
Operational checklist after launch
- Set a whitelist and review operator accounts.
- Confirm the world directory is included in your backup schedule.
- Store at least one backup outside the live server machine or provider instance.
- Record the ATM10AERO release, Minecraft version, NeoForge version, Java version, and custom configuration changes.
- Watch logs after adding mods, changing configs, or updating the pack.
- Test restoring a backup before you need it.
The documented baseline is straightforward: use the release-specific server pack, provide at least 6 GB of RAM and the correct Java runtime, complete the first-run EULA step, avoid unnecessary server-ip edits, and keep a recoverable world backup before every update. Performance beyond that baseline depends on the hardware, world, settings, and player activity, so it must be measured on your own installation.
