Connect a Logitech mouse and keyboard to a Chromebook from ChromeOS Bluetooth settings: open the status area, turn on Bluetooth, choose Manage devices, select Add Bluetooth device, and choose each Logitech peripheral. Pair the mouse and keyboard separately unless the exact combo’s instructions say its included receiver handles both. A USB receiver can also work, but the correct procedure depends on the Logitech model and receiver family.
What “Logitech controller” means on a Chromebook
In this guide, “controller” means the Logitech mouse and keyboard you use to control ChromeOS. It does not refer to a gamepad. ChromeOS can connect compatible Logitech peripherals through Bluetooth, and some models can connect through a USB receiver.
The safest setup method is the one documented for your exact model. Logitech’s general guidance says a device can connect through Bluetooth or a USB receiver, but pairing controls, receiver families, keyboard-layout options and included accessories vary. A procedure that works for one mouse or keyboard may not work for another.

- Identify each device. Have the exact model names available, especially if you are using a receiver.
- Check the power state. Remove any battery pull tabs supplied with a new mouse or keyboard and turn the devices on.
- Decide how to connect. Bluetooth is usually the simplest route on a Chromebook. A receiver is useful only when the receiver matches the device and your Chromebook has a suitable USB port or adapter.
- Keep the model documentation nearby. Logitech says receiver pairing can depend on the product, so the exact support page takes precedence over a generic receiver procedure.
- Expect separate pairings. In ordinary Bluetooth setup, the mouse and keyboard appear as two devices and are added one at a time.
Connect a Logitech mouse or keyboard with Bluetooth
ChromeOS provides the required pairing controls. You do not need to assume that Logitech desktop configuration software is installed or required for basic connection.

- Click the status area in the lower-right corner of the Chromebook shelf. This opens the system controls.
- Turn on Bluetooth if it is disabled.
- Open Manage devices next to Bluetooth.
- Choose Add Bluetooth device.
- Put the Logitech mouse or keyboard into its discoverable or pairing state if the model requires a button press, then select its name when it appears.
- Follow the on-screen pairing instructions.
- Repeat the process for the other peripheral. Add the mouse and keyboard as separate Bluetooth devices unless the product’s own instructions specify a different arrangement.
After a successful pairing, Logitech says the device’s LED stops blinking and glows steadily for about five seconds before switching off to save power. The LED turning off after that brief steady period is therefore not, by itself, evidence that the connection failed.
If the device does not appear
Leave the Add Bluetooth device screen open while you put the peripheral into pairing mode. Confirm that Bluetooth remains enabled, that the device is switched on, and that any factory pull tab has been removed. If the model has a connect or pairing control, use the exact sequence in its product documentation; Logitech’s generic receiver instructions do not necessarily describe every Bluetooth model.
Use a Logitech USB receiver
A receiver is not a universal setup method. Logitech makes several receiver families, and the mouse or keyboard must support the receiver you are using. The included receiver, when there is one, is the least ambiguous option.

Logitech’s general connection guidance says that many products begin receiver pairing when you hold the device’s Connect button until its LED blinks rapidly. That is a general starting point, not a guarantee for every model. If the LED does not enter pairing mode or the Chromebook does not respond, use the exact documentation for the product and receiver family rather than installing a desktop workflow intended for another receiver type.
General receiver procedure
- Confirm that the receiver is intended for the Logitech mouse or keyboard. Do not assume that any Logitech receiver can pair with any Logitech peripheral.
- Insert the receiver into a compatible USB port on the Chromebook, using an appropriate adapter only when the Chromebook’s ports require one.
- Turn on the mouse or keyboard and remove any pull tab.
- If the model calls for it, hold Connect until the LED blinks rapidly.
- Complete the model-specific pairing instructions and test movement, clicks or keystrokes.
Some receiver workflows are documented with Logitech software for desktop operating systems. Do not apply those instructions indiscriminately to a Chromebook. The ChromeOS-specific material supports Bluetooth pairing and the documented receiver process for certain products; it does not establish that every desktop receiver utility is available on ChromeOS.
Logitech Pebble 2 Combo: the documented ChromeOS procedure
The Logitech Pebble 2 Combo has two documented connection options: its included Logi Bolt receiver or Bluetooth Low Energy. Check the exact regional model before following these steps, because packaging and included accessories can differ.

Connect the Pebble 2 Combo with its Logi Bolt receiver
- Plug the included Logi Bolt receiver into the Chromebook.
- Remove the pull tabs from the keyboard and mouse.
- Select the ChromeOS keyboard layout by pressing Fn+C on the keyboard.
- Test both the keyboard and mouse. If one does not respond, consult the Pebble 2 Combo instructions for that regional model instead of assuming the receiver is interchangeable with another Logitech receiver family.
Connect the Pebble 2 Combo over Bluetooth Low Energy
- Turn on the keyboard and mouse.
- Open the Chromebook’s Bluetooth preferences through the status area and Manage devices.
- Choose Add Bluetooth device.
- Select the matching keyboard and follow the pairing prompts.
- Repeat for the matching mouse.
The Pebble 2 Combo instructions specifically name Fn+C for the ChromeOS layout. Do not generalize that key combination to a different Logitech keyboard unless its own manual gives the same instruction.

| Question | Bluetooth | USB receiver |
|---|---|---|
| Does the Chromebook need working Bluetooth? | Yes. Bluetooth must be enabled in ChromeOS settings. | No Bluetooth pairing is required, but the Chromebook needs a compatible USB port or adapter. |
| How is the device added? | Use Manage devices and Add Bluetooth device; normally add the mouse and keyboard separately. | Insert the correct receiver and follow the model’s receiver-pairing procedure. |
| Is any Logitech receiver suitable? | Not applicable. | No. Receiver and device family compatibility must be verified. |
| What accessory must be present? | No receiver is needed. | The correct receiver must be included or separately supported by the exact model. |
| What keyboard-layout issue should you check? | Use the layout or pairing instruction for the exact keyboard. | The Pebble 2 Combo documentation specifies Fn+C for the ChromeOS layout. |
| Best first choice when the model is unclear | Try the documented ChromeOS Bluetooth path. | Use only after confirming the receiver family and the model’s instructions. |
Troubleshoot a Logitech Chromebook connection
The mouse or keyboard is missing from the Bluetooth list
- Return to the status area and verify that Bluetooth is enabled.
- Open Manage devices and start Add Bluetooth device again.
- Make sure the peripheral is switched on and in its pairing or discoverable state.
- Remove any battery pull tab from a new device.
- If another nearby computer or tablet has previously used the peripheral, consult the model instructions for how to place it back into pairing mode before trying again.
Do not infer from a missing listing that ChromeOS cannot use the device. A device that is powered on but not advertising itself will not appear in the add-device list.

The pairing screen sees the device but pairing does not complete
Keep the device close to the Chromebook while pairing and repeat the documented pairing sequence. If the model has a Connect button, use the product-specific timing for that button. Logitech’s general guidance refers to a rapidly blinking LED for many receiver pairings, but the exact behavior can differ by product.
The receiver is plugged in but nothing works
- Check that the receiver belongs to the mouse or keyboard and to the correct receiver family.
- Confirm that the receiver is fully inserted and that the Chromebook’s port or adapter accepts it.
- Turn the device on and repeat its receiver pairing sequence.
- Consult the exact product documentation if the Connect button does not produce the expected rapidly blinking LED.
A receiver that physically fits the port is not necessarily compatible with the peripheral. Receiver compatibility is a model and family question, not simply a USB-plug question.

The keyboard types unexpected symbols or uses the wrong layout
Check the keyboard-layout instruction for the exact regional model. For the Pebble 2 Combo, Logitech documents Fn+C to select the ChromeOS keyboard layout. If you have a different keyboard, do not apply that shortcut without confirmation from its documentation.

Only one half of a combo works
With Bluetooth, pair the mouse and keyboard separately. With a receiver, verify that the exact combo is documented to use one included receiver for both devices. If the instructions describe separate pairing or separate channels, follow those instructions rather than assuming that one successful connection covers the other peripheral.
The LED stops blinking and then turns off
Logitech describes a successful pairing LED as stopping its blink, glowing steadily for approximately five seconds and then turning off to conserve power. That sequence is normal and should not be treated as a disconnection unless the mouse or keyboard actually stops responding.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to expect from Logitech customization software
Logi Options+ lists supported mice and keyboards and the features available for those models. The available support information does not establish that the Options+ application runs on ChromeOS. Therefore, treat basic Bluetooth or receiver connection as the documented Chromebook functionality, and do not promise advanced button remapping, gesture configuration or other app-based customization on a Chromebook unless Logitech explicitly supports that model and platform.
If you need a feature beyond typing, clicking or scrolling, check the exact model’s current platform-support information before buying it for Chromebook use. A device can connect successfully while still lacking its desktop customization tools on ChromeOS.
A practical buying check for a Chromebook setup
If you still need both peripherals, the Logitech Pebble 2 Combo is one relevant example because Logitech provides ChromeOS instructions for both Bluetooth Low Energy and a Logi Bolt receiver. Confirm the exact regional model and whether the receiver is included before purchase. The connection method, included accessories and keyboard-layout details should be treated as model-specific rather than assumed from the product family name alone.
Quick Recap
Final setup checklist
- Identify the exact Logitech mouse and keyboard models.
- For Bluetooth, use ChromeOS: status area → Bluetooth → Manage devices → Add Bluetooth device.
- Pair the mouse and keyboard separately unless the combo documentation explicitly says one receiver connects both.
- For a receiver, verify the receiver family and follow the product’s Connect-button instructions.
- For the Pebble 2 Combo, remove the pull tabs, use the included Logi Bolt receiver or Bluetooth Low Energy, and press Fn+C for the ChromeOS keyboard layout.
- Keep expectations about Logi Options+ conservative: the reviewed material does not verify that the app runs on Chromebooks.
