You can build a LEMP stack on Deepin 25, but first check whether the configured Deepin repositories actually offer PHP 8.5 packages. PHP 8.5.11 was the upstream stable release on September 24, 2026; that does not mean Deepin’s crimson repositories provide php8.5-fpm or any particular socket path. Keep Deepin’s own package sources, verify candidates before installing, and configure NGINX to use the PHP-FPM socket that exists on your system.
Check Deepin 25 and its package sources first
Deepin 25 uses the crimson suite in its official package repository. Its documentation describes a Solid, partly immutable system with an apt/dpkg compatibility layer, and notes that not every apt operation is supported. Follow the instructions for the Deepin version installed rather than assuming every conventional Debian command or system-directory edit applies.
Record the system release and inspect the configured apt sources before making changes. Use the official Deepin 25 installation and update guide for the supported update method, and compare your package source configuration with Deepin’s official package repository information. The documented community source uses the crimson suite:
deb https://community-packages.deepin.com/deepin/beige/ crimson main commercial community
Do not replace Deepin sources with Debian or Ubuntu repositories just to obtain a newer package. A different distribution suite can introduce dependency and update conflicts, and the available documentation does not establish that such a mixture is compatible with Deepin 25. Deepin’s apt/dpkg compatibility notes for Solid explain the system’s constraints.

Refresh the package index using the method documented for your installation:
sudo apt update
Check package availability before installing
Package names and candidates can vary with the repositories enabled on a given machine. Inspect candidates instead of assuming NGINX, PHP 8.5, MySQL, extensions, or a particular service name are available:
apt policy nginx mysql-server mysql-client php8.5-cli php8.5-fpm php8.5-mysql php8.5-curl php8.5-mbstring php8.5-xml php8.5-zip
apt search '^php.*-fpm$'
A candidate version shown by apt is the version apt can install from the configured sources; no candidate means that package name is not currently available from them. Consult Deepin’s documentation before changing sources or attempting operations outside the documented compatibility layer.

Install NGINX from a source appropriate to Deepin
If apt shows an NGINX candidate from your configured Deepin sources, install that package using the supported apt workflow. The exact installation command depends on the candidate package you confirmed. Then check the installed version and service status:
Rank #2
nginx -v
systemctl status nginx
The NGINX project’s installation documentation explains its Debian packages, signing-key checks, and stable or mainline channels, but does not confirm that its apt repository supports Deepin 25. Treat an upstream NGINX repository as an unverified compatibility choice on this system, not as a routine Deepin installation step.
Install PHP-FPM only if the configured repositories provide it
PHP 8.5.11 was listed as a stable upstream version in the PHP Group’s release archive dated September 24, 2026. That upstream release information, available from the PHP downloads page and the PHP 8.5 announcement, does not establish that Deepin packages that version.
If apt offers PHP 8.5 packages
Install the PHP-FPM package and only the extensions your application needs, using the package names and versions shown by apt. For example, after confirming all names have candidates, the command may resemble:

That command is conditional: it is not evidence that each package exists in every Deepin 25 installation. Confirm the installed versions and service state rather than relying on the requested version alone:
Rank #3
php -v
systemctl status php8.5-fpm
If PHP 8.5 is unavailable
Do not add a Debian or Ubuntu repository with a different suite merely to force installation. Check which PHP-FPM packages Deepin offers and decide whether an available version meets your application’s requirements. The official PHP release page describes upstream releases, not Deepin binary-package availability.
Point NGINX to the PHP-FPM socket that exists
Do not assume the socket is /run/php/php8.5-fpm.sock. Find the socket created by the installed FPM package, and check the relevant service’s status. The actual socket location and service name depend on the package and its configuration.
In the NGINX server configuration for your site, configure PHP requests to pass to the confirmed FPM socket using FastCGI. Set the socket path to the one present on your machine; a copied configuration containing a different version’s socket will fail to connect to FPM. After editing a site configuration, validate NGINX’s configuration before reloading it:

Keep PHP error display appropriate to the environment: visible errors can help during development, but production sites should not expose them to visitors. Ensure the configuration you deploy does not reveal application internals.
Install and verify the database package
Check apt’s candidate for mysql-server and, if needed, mysql-client before installing. The available Deepin package sources determine the version and packaging behavior; the documentation cited here does not establish a specific MySQL version, service name, or security setup for Deepin 25.
After installation, inspect the service name and state on your system rather than assuming a universal unit name. Verify the client version with mysql --version. Configure the application to use its own database account with only the privileges it requires, and use a unique credential; do not put an administrator password in application settings or expose credentials in a public web directory.
Install Composer with the current installer check
Composer’s official download page provides the current installer instructions and SHA-384 verification procedure. Follow that page at installation time: the checksum changes with the installer, so copying an old hash can undermine the check.
After verifying the installer as documented, install Composer globally only if the chosen destination is appropriate for your system and on the executable PATH. Confirm the result with:
Best Value
composer --version
The official page also lists stable, preview, snapshot, and specific-version channels. Choose a channel intentionally rather than treating a development channel as the default for a production application.
Validate the complete stack
Before relying on the stack, check the installed software, running services, actual FPM socket, and application-to-database connection. A successful package installation alone does not verify that NGINX can reach PHP-FPM or that the application’s database credentials work.
- Confirm the Deepin release and that package sources use the appropriate
crimsonsuite. - Check apt candidates for every required package before installation.
- Verify NGINX, PHP, and Composer versions with their version commands.
- Check each service using the unit name present on the machine.
- Confirm the PHP-FPM socket path and use that exact path in the NGINX site configuration.
- Test the application’s database connection with its own limited-privilege account, without publishing configuration files or credentials.
- Validate NGINX configuration with
nginx -tbefore reloading it.
This procedure is deliberately conditional on the local package index and installation. The cited official sources describe Deepin’s repositories and system constraints, upstream PHP releases, NGINX package guidance, and Composer installer verification; they do not establish that every Deepin 25 image offers PHP 8.5 or that a complete LEMP setup has been tested on every image.
