For the Glorious Model O 2 Wireless and Model O 2 Mini Wireless, setup is straightforward: use the included receiver with the mouse set to 2.4, pair through Bluetooth by switching to BT and holding the DPI button plus both side buttons, or connect the supplied USB cable for wired use and charging. These instructions are model-specific; other Glorious mice can use different switches, buttons, or pairing procedures.

Check the exact mouse model first

“Glorious wireless mouse” describes several product families and generations. The procedure in this guide applies to the Model O 2 Wireless and Model O 2 Mini Wireless. Confirm the name printed on the mouse, its packaging, or your purchase record before changing any settings.

Do not assume that the DPI-and-side-button sequence, switch labels, or Bluetooth name applies to every Glorious model. If your mouse has different controls or identifies itself differently, use the product guide for that exact model and generation. This matters especially when replacing a lost receiver, because receivers are not universal.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Model names can look similar even when the connection procedure is different. Check whether the product is an O 2, O 2 Mini, PRO, non-PRO, or another generation before following a button sequence. If the switch underneath the mouse does not show 2.4 and BT, stop and find the guide for that version rather than guessing.

What you need before connecting

  • The mouse and its included USB receiver if you want 2.4 GHz wireless.
  • The supplied USB-A-to-USB-C cable for charging or wired operation.
  • An available USB port for the receiver or cable.
  • Bluetooth built into the computer, or a compatible external Bluetooth adapter, if you plan to use Bluetooth.
  • A Windows computer only if you want to install Glorious CORE for customization. Basic mouse use does not require CORE.

Glorious recommends fully charging the mouse before its first wireless session. A completely empty battery takes approximately two hours to charge according to the setup guide. You can continue using the mouse while the cable is attached, so charging does not prevent you from completing setup.

Before you start, clear a simple path between the mouse and the computer, especially if the computer is under a desk. Keep the receiver near the mouse rather than hidden behind a case or monitor. This is not a new pairing step; it is simply a way to give the already-paired receiver a more direct connection.

Decide which connection you actually need

There is no requirement to configure every connection method. Pick the one that matches your computer and your reason for using the mouse. The included receiver is generally the shortest path to wireless use because it is paired before it reaches you. Bluetooth is useful when you want to leave a USB port free, but it requires discovery and a Bluetooth radio. Wired USB avoids both wireless setup processes and can be used while the battery charges.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If you own the Model O 2 Wireless, the receiver and Type-A-to-Type-C cable are already included. Therefore, a separate receiver or cable is not a normal setup purchase. A Bluetooth adapter is only relevant when the PC lacks Bluetooth hardware; it is not needed on a computer that already has working Bluetooth.

Choose the connection that fits your PC

Connection Hardware needed Pairing required? When it is useful
2.4 GHz receiver Included USB receiver and a free USB port No manual pairing for the supplied receiver; it is paired out of the box Everyday wireless use when you have a spare USB port
Bluetooth Bluetooth built into the PC or an external Bluetooth adapter Yes. The mouse must be put into discoverable mode and selected in the PC’s Bluetooth screen Systems where you want to avoid using the USB receiver
Wired USB Included USB-A-to-USB-C cable and a compatible USB port No Initial charging, troubleshooting, or use without a wireless connection

The table describes three different paths, not three settings that must be enabled together. The switch chooses which wireless radio the mouse uses. A successful Bluetooth pairing does not make the mouse respond while the switch is set to 2.4, and plugging in the receiver does not replace the Bluetooth pairing process.

Set up the included 2.4 GHz receiver

1. Charge first, if needed

Connect the USB-A end of the supplied cable to the computer and the USB-C end to the port at the front of the mouse. The guide estimates about two hours for a full charge from empty. You can leave the mouse connected and use it as a wired mouse while it charges.

2. Select 2.4 mode

Turn the mouse over and move the underside switch to 2.4. This selects the radio used by the included receiver. If the switch is on BT, the mouse will not use the receiver even though the receiver is plugged in.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

3. Insert the receiver

Plug the included receiver into an available USB port. It is already paired to the mouse when supplied, so no pairing utility or button sequence is normally necessary. Keep the receiver reasonably close to the mouse for the most reliable signal; a front-panel port or a short extension can help if the computer is under a desk or surrounded by other USB devices.

4. Allow the computer to detect it

Give the operating system a moment to recognize the USB receiver, then move the mouse. There is no separate receiver entry that you need to select in Bluetooth settings. The receiver is a USB connection, and the mouse should communicate with it once the switch is on 2.4.

5. Test movement and clicks

Move the mouse and click a few buttons. If the pointer responds, the 2.4 GHz setup is complete. CORE is not needed for this basic connection.

If nothing happens, check the mode switch before assuming that the receiver needs pairing. The most common mismatch is a receiver that is inserted correctly while the mouse remains set to BT. Re-seat the receiver, try another USB port, and test with the cable if necessary.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Pair the mouse over Bluetooth

1. Confirm Bluetooth hardware

Your computer must have working Bluetooth hardware. A desktop without built-in Bluetooth needs an external Bluetooth adapter before the mouse can appear in the device list. Installing software alone cannot create Bluetooth hardware.

2. Select BT on the mouse

Move the underside switch from 2.4 to BT. The mouse cannot be discovered over Bluetooth while it remains in 2.4 mode.

3. Enter discoverable mode

Press and hold the DPI button and both side buttons at the same time. Keep holding until the LEDs flash blue. The blue flashing indicates that the mouse is ready to be discovered. A quick press of the DPI button, or holding only one side button, does not follow the documented discovery sequence.

4. Open the computer’s Bluetooth pairing screen

On Windows, open Settings > Bluetooth & devices, turn Bluetooth on, choose Add device, select Bluetooth, and wait for nearby devices to populate. On macOS or Linux, open the system Bluetooth settings and start adding a nearby device.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

5. Select the correct device name

Choose Model O 2 for the full-size mouse or Model O 2 Mini for the smaller version. Do not choose an unrelated nearby device simply because its name appears first. The indicator stops flashing blue after pairing succeeds.

6. Test the connection

Move the mouse and click in a text field or browser window. If it does not respond, keep the mouse in BT mode and repeat the discovery procedure rather than trying to select the 2.4 GHz receiver entry.

Bluetooth pairing is performed on the computer, not in Glorious CORE. Once the computer has accepted the matching device name, the important checks are that the switch remains on BT and that Bluetooth remains enabled on the PC.

Use the mouse as a wired USB device

Wired operation needs no wireless pairing. Insert the USB-A end of the included cable into the computer and the USB-C end into the front of the mouse, with the hex symbol facing up. The cable can both charge the battery and carry the mouse connection, which makes wired mode useful during first-time setup or when diagnosing a wireless problem.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Connecting by cable also allows the computer to install the necessary drivers automatically, as described in the setup guide. Wait for the operating system to finish detecting the device, then test the pointer. If you later unplug the cable, move the switch to the wireless mode you intend to use: 2.4 for the receiver or BT for Bluetooth.

Use wired mode as a diagnostic baseline. If the pointer works over USB, the mouse, its buttons, and the computer’s basic input handling are functioning. You can then concentrate on the wireless mode, receiver seating, Bluetooth hardware, or switch position instead of changing several variables at once.

Install Glorious CORE only when you need customization

Basic pointing, clicking, charging, and wireless pairing work without Glorious CORE. The software is optional and is intended for settings such as button remapping, macros, RGB lighting, and DPI configuration.

The cited setup guidance describes CORE as Windows-only. If you use macOS or Linux, the mouse can still be used through its supported connection methods, but the Windows customization application is not the required path for ordinary operation. Connect by cable if Windows needs to detect the mouse and install its drivers before you open CORE.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do not delay a first-use connection while looking for software. First establish pointer movement with the receiver, Bluetooth, or cable. Only after the mouse works should you decide whether custom DPI values, lighting, remapped buttons, or macros justify installing CORE. This keeps optional configuration separate from the basic pairing process.

Verify which mode is active

  • 2.4 mode: the underside switch reads 2.4 and the included USB receiver is plugged into the computer.
  • Bluetooth mode: the switch reads BT and the mouse has been selected in the computer’s Bluetooth device list.
  • Wired mode: the USB-C plug is fully inserted in the mouse and the cable is connected to the computer.

Only one wireless path should be used at a time. If you paired Bluetooth successfully but then move the switch back to 2.4, the mouse will look for the receiver instead of the Bluetooth connection. Likewise, moving to BT does not make the USB receiver disappear; it simply tells the mouse to use a different connection path.

Common setup mistakes to avoid

  • Using the wrong model instructions: the DPI-plus-two-side-button command is documented here for Model O 2 Wireless and Model O 2 Mini Wireless, not every Glorious mouse.
  • Expecting the receiver to appear in Bluetooth: the included receiver is a USB device and is already paired; select 2.4 on the mouse instead.
  • Holding the wrong buttons: Bluetooth discovery requires the DPI button and both side buttons together until the LEDs flash blue.
  • Leaving the switch in the wrong position: a Bluetooth pairing cannot be used while the mouse is set to 2.4, and the receiver cannot be used while it is set to BT.
  • Buying an unnecessary accessory: the Model O 2 package includes the receiver and cable. A Bluetooth adapter is conditional on the PC lacking Bluetooth.
  • Assuming CORE is required: ordinary mouse input, receiver use, Bluetooth pairing, and wired operation do not depend on the customization software.

Troubleshoot a Bluetooth connection

The mouse does not appear in the device list

  1. Confirm the underside switch is set to BT.
  2. Press and hold the DPI button and both side buttons again until the LEDs flash blue. A brief press is not enough to enter discovery mode.
  3. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on the computer and that the computer actually has Bluetooth hardware or an external adapter.
  4. Refresh the computer’s nearby-device list and select the matching Model O 2 or Model O 2 Mini entry.

The setup guide documents the discovery steps but does not provide a separate exhaustive Bluetooth fault tree. If the device still does not appear after those checks, test the mouse by cable or with its receiver to distinguish a Bluetooth-setting problem from a broader mouse or computer problem.

The wrong device name appears

Look for the name that matches the physical mouse: Model O 2 or Model O 2 Mini. If your mouse is a different family, do not force the O 2 procedure. Identify the exact model and use its own instructions.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Bluetooth worked, then stopped after switching modes

Return the switch to BT. The mouse does not use the saved Bluetooth connection while set to 2.4. If it still does not respond, repeat the blue-flashing discovery sequence and select the matching device in the computer’s Bluetooth screen.

Troubleshoot the 2.4 GHz receiver

The receiver is plugged in but the pointer does not move

  • Check that the underside switch is on 2.4, not BT.
  • Remove and firmly reinsert the included receiver in the USB port.
  • Try another USB port if the computer does not detect the receiver.
  • Confirm that the mouse battery is charged, or connect the cable and test it in wired mode.
  • Move the receiver closer to the mouse if the computer’s location or surrounding USB devices may be obstructing a reliable signal.

The supplied receiver is paired out of the box, so a normal Model O 2 setup should not require a separate pairing tool. If the mouse works by cable but not by receiver after these checks, identify the exact model and generation before considering a replacement.

Should you pair the supplied receiver manually?

Normally, no. The manufacturer states that the included receiver is paired to the mouse out of the box. Start with the physical checks—2.4 selected, receiver inserted, and battery charged—before searching for a pairing utility.

What to do if the receiver is lost or damaged

Do not buy a receiver solely because it is labeled “Glorious.” Replacement parts are model- and generation-specific. Glorious lists separate PRO receiver-kit variants for:

Free tools Windows power users keep installed

One-click scans. No signup required.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • O2/D2 PRO 1KHz
  • O/D 4K/8KHz
  • Series 2 PRO

The listed PRO replacement options expressly exclude Forge PRO, V1, V2 non-PRO, and V3 mice. Match the replacement listing to the exact mouse name and generation before ordering. A receiver intended for a different family may not pair with your mouse, even if the connector fits your computer.

For a reader who already owns a Model O 2 Wireless with its original receiver, a replacement kit is not part of ordinary setup. Consider one only after confirming that the original is actually missing or damaged and that the replacement’s compatibility list names the same model and generation. If the model is uncertain, check the mouse, packaging, or purchase record first.

Model O 2 Wireless connection and compatibility details

Specification Model O 2 Wireless listing
Wireless connections 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth 5.2 LE
Wired connection USB cable
Included cable Type-A-to-Type-C cable
Included wireless hardware USB receiver
Operating-system compatibility listed by the manufacturer Windows, macOS, and Linux
Advertised battery endurance Up to 210 hours; this is a manufacturer specification, not a guaranteed result for every usage pattern

The battery figure is an “up to” product specification. It should not be treated as a setup requirement or a promise that every lighting, polling, connection, and usage configuration will reach that duration. The practical first-use requirement is simply to charge the mouse—about two hours from empty according to the setup guide—or keep it connected by cable while you configure it.

Switching between methods later

You can use the same mouse with the receiver, Bluetooth, or the cable, but each change requires the matching physical connection. To return to receiver use, plug in the receiver and set the switch to 2.4. To return to Bluetooth, make sure the computer has Bluetooth enabled, set the switch to BT, and select the saved Model O 2 or Model O 2 Mini device if the operating system asks you to connect again. For wired use, connect the cable and leave wireless mode out of the decision entirely.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

When troubleshooting, change one thing at a time. For example, first test wired USB, then test 2.4 with the included receiver, and finally test Bluetooth. That sequence shows whether the issue is related to charging, the USB receiver, or the computer’s Bluetooth hardware.

A complete first-use checklist

  1. Read the name on the mouse and confirm that it is a Model O 2 Wireless or Model O 2 Mini Wireless if you are following this procedure.
  2. Locate the included receiver and USB-A-to-USB-C cable before beginning.
  3. Charge the mouse with the supplied cable, especially if it arrived empty.
  4. Choose one connection method based on your available hardware.
  5. For 2.4 GHz, set the switch to 2.4 and insert the included, already-paired receiver.
  6. For Bluetooth, confirm that the PC has Bluetooth, set the switch to BT, hold DPI plus both side buttons until the LEDs flash blue, and select the matching model name in the computer’s Bluetooth settings.
  7. For wired use, connect the USB-A-to-USB-C cable with the hex symbol facing up at the mouse.
  8. Move the pointer and test the main buttons before changing optional settings.
  9. Install CORE only if you need Windows customization such as macros, remapping, RGB, or DPI changes.
  10. If a wireless method fails, test the cable first, then recheck the mode switch and the required hardware for that connection.

Which method should you keep using?

Use the included 2.4 GHz receiver when your computer has a convenient USB port and you want the simplest wireless setup; it avoids Bluetooth discovery because the receiver is pre-paired. Choose Bluetooth when your computer has Bluetooth available and preserving a USB port matters more than the extra pairing step. Keep wired USB as the fallback for charging, initial driver detection, or uninterrupted use while diagnosing either wireless mode.

How do I pair the Model O 2 Mini?

Use the same documented Bluetooth sequence for the Mini: select BT, hold DPI plus both side buttons until the LEDs flash blue, and choose Model O 2 Mini in the computer’s Bluetooth list. The supplied receiver uses 2.4 mode and is already paired.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Can I use the mouse without Glorious CORE?

Yes. CORE is optional for basic movement, clicks, charging, receiver use, Bluetooth pairing, and wired operation. It is intended for Windows customization such as remapping, macros, RGB, and DPI settings.

Yes. Connect the supplied USB cable to the computer and the mouse. The cable can charge the battery and operate the mouse as a wired device at the same time.

Why does the mouse not appear when I search for Bluetooth devices?

Check that the switch is on BT, repeat the hold of the DPI button and both side buttons until the LEDs flash blue, and verify that the PC has Bluetooth enabled and working. Then refresh the device list and look for the correct Model O 2 or Model O 2 Mini name.

Do I need to pair the included USB receiver?

No manual pairing is normally required. Glorious says the included receiver is paired out of the box. Set the mouse to 2.4, insert the receiver, and test movement.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The product listing names Windows, macOS, and Linux compatibility. The mouse supports 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 5.2 LE, and wired USB connections. The setup guide describes CORE as Windows-only, but CORE is not required for ordinary mouse use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the fastest way to connect a Model O 2 Wireless?

Set the underside switch to 2.4 and plug in the included USB receiver. It is paired out of the box, so no manual pairing sequence is normally needed.

How do I put a Model O 2 Wireless into Bluetooth pairing mode?

Set the switch to BT, then hold the DPI button and both side buttons until the LEDs flash blue. Select Model O 2 or Model O 2 Mini in the computer’s Bluetooth settings.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Is Glorious CORE required?

No. CORE is optional Windows software for customization. Basic wired, receiver, Bluetooth, charging, and pointing functions work without it.

What should I do if I lose the receiver?

Identify the exact mouse model and generation first. Glorious replacement receiver kits are not universal and list specific compatible PRO families and exclusions.

The Bottom Line

For a Model O 2 Wireless or Model O 2 Mini Wireless, the included receiver is the simplest route: set the mouse to 2.4 and plug it in. Use Bluetooth only when the PC has Bluetooth and you want to avoid the receiver, following the BT switch and blue-flashing button sequence. Use the cable for charging, wired operation, or troubleshooting, and verify the exact model before applying any other Glorious instructions or buying a replacement receiver.
