You can choose which notification sound—and its associated Glyph pattern—your Nothing phone uses. Open Settings > Glyph Interface > Notification sounds, preview the options, and select a sound. Assigning a different Glyph pattern to every app is not a universal control documented by Nothing; app-specific choices depend on the notification settings your model, Nothing OS version, and individual apps provide.

Select the sound you want. Nothing says the selector supports original Nothing sounds and imported sounds.

Nothing Support describes the relationship this way: “Each notification sound has a unique Glyph pattern associated with it.” This is a sound-based way to distinguish notifications; the documented selector is not a tool for designing a custom light animation.
Can you assign a different Glyph pattern to each app?
Not through a universal app-by-app Glyph assignment procedure established in Nothing’s help instructions. To see whether a particular app can use a different sound, open that app’s notification settings and check its notification categories or channels for a sound option. If the app and your phone expose that choice, selecting a different sound may also change the associated Glyph pattern. The exact menu and available controls can vary, so do not assume every app or Nothing phone offers this option.
Nothing’s Phone (1) product information also describes pairing individual contacts with ringtones, each with a unique Glyph pattern, and choosing different Glyph patterns for notifications. That contact feature is distinct from assigning patterns to apps, and does not establish identical controls on other models.

Check that Glyph Interface is enabled in Settings. Nothing says incoming calls and message notifications can light a preset pattern when the interface is on.

Check the app’s notification settings and categories to confirm notifications are allowed and, where available, a sound is selected.

If menu names or options differ, check the instructions for your specific phone model and Nothing OS version; Nothing’s help material does not provide a complete model-by-model menu guide for app-specific assignment.
Consider light sensitivity
Nothing warns: “The Glyph interface may not be safe for people with epilepsy and others sensitive to light.” Consider that warning before enabling or using the lights.
