The most reliable setup uses three layers: exchange calendars for advance notice, the NSE and BSE filing pages for confirmation, and an issuer’s Investor Relations email list when one is available. Treat a board-meeting date as an expected window only; act on the actual exchange filing after checking its period, status and timestamp.
What an earnings alert can—and cannot—tell you
Indian listed companies usually create two separate signals around quarterly or annual results. First, the company intimates a board meeting or appears in an exchange event calendar. That gives you lead time to prepare, but it does not mean the accounts have been filed. Second, the company submits the result to an exchange. That filing, its attachment and its broadcast timestamp are the authoritative confirmation.
NSE and BSE maintain separate records. A company listed on both exchanges can appear first on one venue, or the two records can show different timestamps and attachments. Monitoring both reduces the chance that you mistake an advance notice for a result or miss a filing while one site is slow to update.

- Confirmation alert: the company’s item in NSE Corporate Filings Announcements or its BSE Financial Results history, with the relevant attachment and filing time.
- Issuer alert: an email sent by the company’s Investor Relations system, if that issuer offers registration.
Use the first layer to know when to look, the second to verify what was actually filed, and the third for convenience. Do not let an email or third-party notification replace the exchange record.

Set up NSE alerts from official pages
Find a filed result in Corporate Filings Announcements
- Open NSE’s Corporate Filings Announcements page.
- Enter the company name or trading symbol. Use the symbol when several companies have similar names.
- Set the Subject filter to Financial Results, or search the subject field for result-related entries if the exact label is not shown.
- Select a date range. NSE provides presets including 1D, 1W, 1M, 3M, 6M and 1Y, plus a Custom range.
- Read the broadcast date and time in the results list. Open the attachment to inspect the filing itself.
- Use the CSV download when you need a local watchlist, a repeatable review process or an audit trail of announcements.
For a result-day check, start with a one-day range and broaden it if the company may have filed late in the previous session. For a quarterly review, a three-month or custom range is more practical. Keep the company symbol and the exact period together in your notes so that a similarly named issuer does not get mixed into your records.
Use NSE’s calendar for advance notice
NSE’s Corporate Filings Event Calendar shows expected corporate events before the result appears as a completed filing. Filter for the company and look for a purpose such as Financial Results. The calendar date is an expected window, not proof that the financial statements have been submitted.
NSE’s Board Meetings page provides another advance signal. Search for the company and inspect the stated meeting purpose. A notice that the board will consider quarterly or annual results tells you when to begin checking the filings page, but the meeting can be postponed and the result can be uploaded later.

The NSE corporate-filings application also describes tracking the latest filings for five selected companies. This is useful for a small portfolio: select the companies you own, then use the tracker as a dashboard while retaining the individual filing page as your verification point. The tracker is a convenience layer; it does not change the need to open the underlying announcement.
Set up BSE alerts and verify the result
Start with BSE Board Meetings
- Open BSE’s Board Meetings search.
- Search by security name, security code or ISIN. An ISIN is helpful when a company has multiple securities or a name that is shared by other issuers.
- Set Purpose to Quarterly Results where that option is available. Review other result-related purposes if the issuer uses different wording.
- Record the announced meeting date and check whether the entry has been revised.
A revised meeting date should replace the old date in your calendar. Keep the original notice only if you need an audit trail; do not continue treating it as the active date.

Confirm the filing in BSE Financial Results
- Open BSE’s Financial Results page for the same company.
- Check the filed period, such as the quarter or year you are monitoring.
- Check whether the result is standalone or consolidated. These can show materially different revenue, profit and debt figures.
- Review the filing status and the filing timestamp.
- Open the attached document and confirm that its period and company identity match your watchlist entry.
The BSE result history is particularly useful when you need to distinguish a new submission from an older document or determine exactly when the exchange received the filing.
Use the SEBI directory when navigation changes
Exchange menus and page addresses can change. SEBI’s directory links to the official NSE Financial Results and BSE Financial Results destinations, giving you a neutral starting point when a saved bookmark stops working or an exchange redesign moves a page.
Subscribe to issuer Investor Relations emails
Many companies maintain an Investor Relations section with an email-registration form. Look for labels such as Email Alerts, Investor Alerts or Subscribe. Enter the address you actively monitor, complete any confirmation step, and retain the confirmation message if the issuer sends one.
Availability and scope are company-specific. Some issuers send only result notices; others include financial events, press releases and annual or quarterly reports. A BSE-hosted Nucleus Software annual-report passage says: “The Company sends an instant email alert of the quarterly/annual financial results, to all persons who get themselves registered on the Company’s website.” The same passage describes alerts and updates for financial events, financial results, press releases and annual and quarterly reports. That is evidence of one issuer’s program, not a promise that every listed company offers instant email.
A BSE-hosted GoIndiGo corporate-overview passage similarly says investors can register an email address for uploads in the company’s Investor Relations section. It also states that quarterly results and other corporate communications are filed through NSE NEAPS and the BSE Listing Centre for dissemination. The practical lesson is to use an issuer email as an early convenience notice, then verify the corresponding NSE or BSE filing.

Check the issuer’s privacy statement and unsubscribe instructions before registering a shared or work address. If emails stop arriving, revisit the Investor Relations page rather than assuming the company has stopped filing; addresses, confirmation requirements and mailing systems can change.

For a handful of holdings, combine the NSE and BSE calendars with each issuer’s email list. For a company listed on both exchanges, subscribe to the issuer and check both exchanges on the announced date. If you monitor many companies, a third-party service may combine filings with email, push, Telegram or WhatsApp delivery, but evaluate it on four points before relying on it:
- Coverage: does it monitor the exchanges and securities you actually need?
- Lead time: does it show board-meeting notices, filed results, or both?
- Delivery channel: can you receive alerts where you will notice them without exposing more personal data than necessary?
- Verification: does each message link back to an identifiable exchange filing, or only provide an uncheckable summary?
Confirm current coverage, delivery latency and privacy terms directly with any service. Treat its message as a prompt to open the official filing, not as the final source.
A practical setup for a small portfolio
- Create a watchlist. Record the company name, NSE symbol, BSE security code, ISIN, listing venues and whether you need standalone, consolidated or both results.
- Register for issuer emails. Use the Investor Relations page for each company that offers alerts, and complete any opt-in confirmation.
- Check the advance calendars. Before each reporting season, search NSE Event Calendar, NSE Board Meetings and BSE Board Meetings for every watchlist company.
- Save the expected date. Mark the date as provisional and include a note that it came from a board or calendar notice.
- Check on the day. Search NSE Corporate Filings Announcements and BSE Financial Results using the company identifiers and a narrow date range.
- Verify the document. Match the period, result type, filing status and timestamp before reading figures or making a trading decision.
- Archive the record. Download the NSE CSV when useful and retain the exchange attachment or a record of its timestamp according to your own compliance and record-keeping needs.
This process separates planning from confirmation. It also gives you a fallback when an issuer email is delayed or a calendar entry is revised.

Market-wide monitoring is different from following a few holdings. Build a repeatable process rather than opening dozens of pages manually:

- Maintain a master list of symbols, security codes and ISINs so that name variations do not create duplicate entries.
- Use NSE’s subject and date filters to narrow announcements, then export CSV data for sorting or an audit trail.
- Use BSE’s company-level result history to check the same period and identify the filing timestamp.
- Review NSE and BSE board-meeting notices before the reporting season, then refresh the list for revisions.
- Route issuer emails into a dedicated folder or label, but retain the company name and expected period in the message subject or notes.
If you automate reminders, schedule them around the provisional meeting date and include a second reminder for the following trading day. The second reminder matters because an announced meeting is not the same thing as a posted result.

When an email, calendar notification or messaging alert arrives, use this sequence:
- Identify whether the message refers to a meeting notice or a filed result.
- Open the official NSE or BSE page rather than relying on a copied headline.
- Match the company identifier and the reporting period.
- Determine whether the document is standalone or consolidated when that distinction is relevant.
- Read the filing status and timestamp. A timestamp establishes when the exchange record was broadcast or filed; it does not establish when the market first learned every detail if another channel published information earlier.
- Open the attachment and check that the document belongs to the intended issuer.
Only after these checks should you use the numbers in an investment model, internal report or notification to another person.
Common problems and fixes
The calendar date passed but no result appears
Recheck NSE Board Meetings and BSE Board Meetings for a revised date, then search the filing pages with a wider range. The meeting may have moved, the filing may have been submitted later, or the notice may have covered discussion rather than immediate publication.

Try the trading symbol, full legal name, BSE security code and ISIN separately. Check whether you are searching the correct exchange and whether the date range is wide enough. Similar names and changed symbols can produce an empty result even when a filing exists.

You found a notice but not the financial statements
Read the subject and purpose. A board-meeting or event-calendar item is an advance intimation. Search NSE Corporate Filings Announcements or BSE Financial Results for the later filing and attachment.
Figures do not match between two documents
Check the reporting period and whether one document is standalone while the other is consolidated. Also compare the filing timestamps and look for a revised exchange entry before assuming that one set of figures is erroneous.
An issuer email arrived late or not at all
Use the exchange pages as the primary path. Confirm that your address was registered and any opt-in link was completed, then inspect the Investor Relations page for a changed subscription form. Email availability and delivery timing are issuer-specific.

A third-party alert conflicts with the exchange record
Prefer the exchange attachment and timestamp. Record the discrepancy if it matters to your work, and do not rely on the third-party summary until the official record is visible.
An exchange page or bookmark no longer works
Start from the exchange’s main corporate-filings area or use SEBI’s directory to reach the official NSE Financial Results and BSE Financial Results destinations. Avoid replacing an official page with an unverified mirror.
Result-alert checklist
- Company name, NSE symbol, BSE code and ISIN are recorded.
- NSE Corporate Filings Announcements is filtered by company, Financial Results subject and an appropriate date range.
- NSE Event Calendar and Board Meetings have been checked for advance notices.
- BSE Board Meetings is checked for Quarterly Results and revised dates.
- BSE Financial Results is checked for period, standalone/consolidated status, filing status and timestamp.
- Issuer Investor Relations email registration is completed where available.
- Any third-party notification is treated as a prompt, not as confirmation.
- The final attachment and timestamp are verified before acting on the announcement.
The dependable workflow is therefore layered: plan with meeting and event notices, receive convenience alerts from the issuer when available, and confirm every earnings announcement in the NSE or BSE filing record.
