The safest way to send fan mail is to use a contact route that the studio itself currently labels for community correspondence. Start on the studio’s official website, distinguish fan mail from player support and business inquiries, and send a short personal note about a specific game. Do not treat a corporate postal address as a fan-mail address, and do not include unsolicited game ideas, scripts, concept art, or other creative material unless the studio explicitly invited it.
Decide what you are actually contacting the studio about
“Fan mail” usually means appreciation: you want to thank the people who made a game, describe what the game meant to you, or share a personal reaction. Studios may route that kind of message through a community team rather than through customer support.
That purpose is different from several nearby requests:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Player support: account access, crashes, lost saves, purchases, refunds, moderation, or other problems that require case handling.
- Business inquiries: press, licensing, partnerships, employment, investment, or event requests.
- Privacy or legal requests: data access, deletion, copyright complaints, or formal notices.
- Unsolicited creative submissions: game concepts, story ideas, scripts, drawings, designs, music, or other material you want the studio to use.
A message can be positive and still belong in a different channel. A thank-you note about a game goes to the community route when one exists; a bug report belongs in support; a pitch should not be sent as fan mail.

Find a current, legitimate destination
Use this process before writing the envelope or pressing Send:
- Open the studio’s official website. Use the domain linked from the studio’s verified social accounts or the game’s official page if you are unsure which site is genuine.
- Search for the exact purpose. Look for pages labelled Community, Contact, Fan Mail, Community Correspondence, Support, Legal, or Submissions. Read the page rather than choosing the first email address you find.
- Follow the published category. If a form asks you to select “community,” “support,” or another reason, choose the category that matches your message. Do not send a community note through a technical-support form merely because it is easier to find.
- Check the page date and current instructions. A blog post or social-media invitation can expire. Confirm that the address, form, and any postal instructions still appear on the studio’s current site.
- Record restrictions before sending. Note whether the studio accepts physical mail, asks for a reply address, forbids attachments, or warns that submissions will not be returned.
A general corporate address is not automatically a fan-mail address. If a site lists headquarters or a registered office but does not identify it for community correspondence, do not assume mail sent there will reach the right team.
Choose the route that matches your message
| Route | Use it for | What to verify | Common mistake |
|---|---|---|---|
| Community email or form | Thanks, personal reactions, community questions, or other fan correspondence | That the studio currently labels the route for community contact | Sending account problems or a creative pitch to the community team |
| Player-support portal | Technical faults, purchases, account access, or safety reports | Required account, platform, order, or diagnostic details | Expecting support staff to forward a general thank-you |
| Postal address explicitly identified for letters | A handwritten note or other physical item the studio has invited | Current address, addressee, accepted formats, and return policy | Using a headquarters address found on a corporate page |
| Business, press, legal, or privacy contact | Those specific formal purposes | The site’s stated scope and required documentation | Using the address because it is the only one visible |
The sources available for this guide do not establish that every studio offers both postal and electronic fan-mail channels. Treat the absence of a named fan-mail route as a reason to use the studio’s published contact form or community address, not as permission to mail headquarters.

- Use the published address or form. For example, CD PROJEKT RED’s contact page separates player support from community correspondence and lists contact.community@cdprojektred.com for community-related messages. Use that address only for the purpose the studio assigns to it.
- Write a specific subject line. “Thank you for [game title]” is clearer than “Important” or “Please read.”
- Identify the game and platform only when useful. A platform can help place your experience, but it is not a substitute for a support ticket if you need technical help.
- Keep the note self-contained. Explain your reaction in the message rather than requiring the recipient to open a file or follow several links.
- Attach nothing unless invited. In particular, do not attach concept art, scripts, designs, or a proposal for a future game.
- Send once. Repeated copies to multiple departments can look like spam and do not improve the chance of a response.
Include contact details only when they are useful and appropriate for that channel. Never include a password, payment-card number, security code, government identification number, or unrelated private information.
Postal fan mail: verify every detail first
Physical mail is appropriate only when the recipient has published a current invitation or clear postal instructions. Before mailing, confirm:
- the address appears on the studio’s current official site or in a current, clearly applicable announcement;
- the page identifies the destination as fan mail, community correspondence, or letters;
- the addressee or department is specified;
- the studio says whether packages, drawings, photographs, or other enclosures are accepted;
- the studio states whether items will be returned; and
- you know what contact information, if any, the studio requests.
Use ordinary paper and a readable envelope. Special stationery is optional; no product or premium format is required. If you want a reply, include a safe way to reach you only if the studio’s instructions invite it. A return envelope does not guarantee a response.

A historical PlayStation example—not a current address
On May 7, 2014, Sid Shuman, identified in the post as Senior Director, Sony Interactive Entertainment Content Communications, published “Send PlayStation a Letter” on the PlayStation Blog. That invitation listed “Greatness Awaits, PlayStation HQ, 2207 Bridgepointe Parkway, San Mateo, CA 94404” and suggested notebook paper, drawings, or collages. It also asked writers to include contact information and a PSN ID. Shuman wrote: “Be sure to include your contact info (email, phone number) and PSN ID, too, so we know how to reach you, and note that anything you mail to us won’t be returned.”

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)

That was a 2014 invitation. It does not establish a current PlayStation fan-mail address, a current procedure, or a general policy for other studios. Verify any destination on the recipient’s present official website before sending anything, and do not mail valuable originals based on that historical post.
Write a note people can actually use
A good fan letter is personal, concrete, and easy to route. One or two short paragraphs are enough. Mention the game, identify the part that affected you, and explain why it mattered to you rather than making broad claims about the entire company.
A simple structure
- Greeting: Address the community team or studio if no individual is named.
- Specific appreciation: Name a character, mechanic, level, soundtrack moment, accessibility feature, or other element you genuinely noticed.
- Personal effect: Explain how the experience helped, surprised, inspired, or connected with you. Do not disclose sensitive personal details unless you are comfortable doing so.
- Closing: Thank the team and sign with the name you want the recipient to see.
Reusable email or letter template
Hello [studio/community team],
I wanted to thank you for [game title]. [One or two specific sentences about what you enjoyed or how it affected you.]
Best,
[Name]
Replace every bracketed phrase with your own words before sending. If the studio’s form does not allow a name or limits the character count, follow that form’s requirements rather than forcing the template into it.
Details worth including
- The exact game title and, if relevant, the expansion or edition.
- A specific moment or feature that made the message meaningful.
- Your country or time zone only if it helps explain a regional event or language issue.
- A preferred contact method only when the studio requests or clearly welcomes replies.
Details to leave out
- Passwords, payment information, recovery codes, or private account data.
- Demands for free games, merchandise, employment, or guaranteed replies.
- Long collections of unrelated complaints mixed into a thank-you note.
- Files or links containing ideas you want the studio to adopt.
Do not turn fan mail into an unsolicited creative submission
Studios commonly separate appreciation from material they might use in a product. CD PROJEKT RED says it cannot accept or review unsolicited materials such as concept art, manuscripts, scripts, drawings, or ideas. Its policy warns that such material may not be reviewed and could be deleted; it also describes broad rights terms that may apply if someone sends material anyway. The practical choice is simple: do not send those materials unless the studio specifically requested them through a clearly defined program.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Ubisoft likewise states that its policy does not allow the company or its employees to accept or consider unsolicited ideas and materials. That warning concerns pitches and creative submissions; it is not evidence that the company rejects every ordinary appreciation message. Keep the two purposes separate.
Do not assume that a fan-content policy creates a mailing invitation. CD PROJEKT RED’s fan-content guidelines describe permissible fan works such as fan art and cosplay, subject to conditions. Those guidelines do not invite you to mail the work to the studio, and they do not grant permission to submit game ideas.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Gifts, drawings, and enclosures
Never assume that a studio accepts gifts or will return them. The 2014 PlayStation invitation explicitly said mailed items would not be returned, but that statement is tied to that invitation and does not create a general rule for other recipients. Check the current instructions before enclosing anything valuable, irreplaceable, edible, fragile, or personally identifying.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIf a current page welcomes letters but says nothing about packages, send only the letter. A scan or photograph of a personal drawing may still be an unsolicited attachment if the studio has not invited it, so ask through the published channel first rather than guessing.

How to handle common wrong turns
You found only a headquarters address
Do not label the envelope “Fan Mail” and assume internal forwarding. Look for a community form or email. If none exists, use the site’s general contact process and select the closest stated purpose, or ask where community correspondence belongs without attaching creative work.
The form offers only technical support
Do not submit a thank-you as a fake crash report. Search the site’s community, newsroom, social, or contact pages. If the studio provides no fan-mail route, a public community channel may be more appropriate than misclassifying the message, but follow that channel’s rules.
You need help with a bug and also want to say thanks
Separate the purposes. File the bug through support with the requested platform, version, steps, and account information; send appreciation through the community route if one is published. This keeps the actionable problem from being buried in a general note.
You already sent an idea or attachment
Do not resend it to another department. Read the studio’s submission policy, avoid further distribution, and use the official contact route only if you need to clarify a privacy or legal concern. A policy may state that unsolicited material can be deleted or may carry rights terms once sent.
You have not received a reply
No universal reply practice is established for game studios. Do not treat silence as rejection, approval, or evidence that the message was lost. Check the address you used, confirm that the route was current when you sent it, and avoid repeated follow-ups unless the studio publishes a follow-up process.
A final pre-send checklist
- Am I thanking the studio, or am I actually asking for support, business contact, legal action, or something else?
- Did I find the destination on the studio’s official, current website?
- Does the page explicitly identify the route for community correspondence or letters?
- Have I avoided treating a corporate address as a fan-mail address?
- Is the note short, specific, polite, and understandable without attachments?
- Did I remove passwords, payment details, and unrelated personal information?
- Did I exclude concepts, scripts, art, designs, and other unsolicited creative material?
- If I am mailing something physical, did I verify acceptance and the return policy?
- Have I accepted that a response is not guaranteed?
The dependable method is purpose-first: locate the studio’s current community route, write a personal note about the game, and send only what that route invites. When the site distinguishes support, community correspondence, business contact, and submissions, respect those boundaries; they protect both your message and the people receiving it.
