Samsung says the Steps tracker can show daily, weekly, and monthly counts. The exact layout and labels may differ with your software version or region. For its phone instructions, see Samsung’s Samsung Health guide; the page notes that instructions are for Hong Kong products and settings can vary by location or purchase region. Samsung’s US tracker guide also describes the available daily, weekly, and monthly counts.

How do you see steps on a Galaxy Watch?
-
Open the Apps screen on the watch.
-
Open Samsung Health and browse its activity trackers to find Steps.
-
Check the tracker for the current day’s total.
On some watches, you can add a Steps tile to the watch interface for quicker access. The option and labels depend on the watch model and software. Samsung documents the tracker in its US tracker guide and describes adding a tile in its Hong Kong Samsung Health guide. An older Samsung Canada guide to Galaxy Watch trackers also describes accessing the tracker; it establishes the general route, not identical availability on every current model.

No. The phone route—Samsung Health, then Home, then Steps—works without a watch. A Galaxy Watch is optional if you prefer to check the tracker from your wrist; it is not required to view steps in Samsung Health on a phone.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Are Samsung Health step counts exact?
No. Samsung describes step totals as estimates. Movement and where you carry the phone can affect the count, so treat it as an approximation rather than an exact measurement. Distance is also estimated from step count and stride length; Samsung says stride length depends on height and walking cadence. For those details, see Samsung’s Samsung Health guide.
