Press and release the Galaxy A54 5G’s Side key and Volume down key at the same time. A brief flash indicates that the screenshot was captured. For a hands-free alternative, enable Palm swipe to capture in Settings.
How do I screenshot on a Samsung A54?
The button shortcut is the simplest method and works from most screens:
- Open the screen you want to capture.
- Press the Side key and Volume down key together, then release them promptly.
- Look for the brief flash that signals a successful capture. If nothing happens, try pressing and releasing both keys simultaneously rather than holding them.
Samsung’s Galaxy A54 5G user manual documents this button combination. Holding the keys can trigger a different power behavior depending on the device and software, so use a quick press.

The A54 also supports capturing the screen by swiping the edge of your hand across it. First switch on the feature:

- Open Settings.
- Tap Advanced features, then Motions and gestures.
- Turn on Palm swipe to capture.
- Place the edge of your hand on one side of the display and swipe across while keeping it in contact with the screen.
If the gesture does not work, check that the setting is enabled and that your hand stays in contact with the display throughout the swipe. The exact labels or availability may differ on some software or carrier versions.
How to take a long screenshot on a Galaxy A54
For a long webpage or other scrollable content, take a regular screenshot first. When the screenshot toolbar appears, tap Scroll capture, shown as downward arrows. The phone extends the image through additional content; tap the control again as needed to continue.

Scroll capture appears only when the screen supports it. Some apps or pages do not offer a scrollable capture, so the button may not appear even when the screenshot itself succeeds. Samsung describes this feature in its screenshot instructions.

Where are screenshots saved on a Samsung A54?
Open Gallery > Albums > Screenshots to find your captures. The A54 manual says a Screenshots album is created automatically. You can also browse to My Files > Images. From Gallery, open an image to edit or share it.

How to change screenshot settings
On the A54, the manual lists screenshot controls at Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recorder. Depending on your software and carrier version, the available options can include:
- Whether to show the toolbar after capture.
- Whether to delete a screenshot after sharing it from the toolbar.
- Whether to hide status and navigation bars in screenshots.
- Whether to save original screenshots.
- Whether screenshots use JPG or PNG format.
- Where screenshots are saved.
If a listed control is missing, use the settings and labels available on your installed build; menu options can vary.

Why can’t I take a screenshot in an app?
Some apps and screens block screenshots to protect private or sensitive information. Samsung identifies banking apps as one example. A blocked attempt may show the message “Can’t take screenshot due to security measure.” This is an app or screen restriction, not necessarily a fault with the A54 or its buttons. If screenshots work elsewhere but not in one app, the restriction may be intentional.

Other capture options and their limits
Samsung’s general Galaxy guidance also describes voice commands and a Tasks Edge panel shortcut, but the A54 manual directly confirms the button shortcut and Palm swipe. Treat those other methods as optional: check whether the relevant feature is available on your phone rather than assuming it is enabled or supported on every software build.
