Yes, but not as a normal Coolify one-click deployment. Coolify does not provide a Sentry service template, and Sentry’s official Docker Compose file is too complex for Coolify’s compose importer in the reported setup. The practical route is to install Sentry directly on the server with Sentry’s install.sh, then use Coolify as the public reverse proxy for Sentry’s web container on port 9000. Plan for substantially more memory than Sentry’s published minimum if you want reliable headroom.
What the Coolify deployment really involves
Self-hosted Sentry is not a single container. Its distribution starts a coordinated stack containing the web application, background workers, a database, Redis, Kafka-related services, and supporting jobs. Coolify can proxy traffic to that stack, but it does not simplify the stack into one managed application.
The reported Coolify workflow therefore separates responsibilities:
- Host-side installation: Sentry’s own installer creates configuration, pulls images, prepares the database schema, and starts the services.
- Coolify edge routing: Coolify receives requests for your Sentry domain, terminates HTTPS, and forwards them to Sentry’s web service on port 9000.
- Operations: Docker Compose and Sentry’s release process remain the source of truth for starting, upgrading, and troubleshooting the internal services.
This is different from importing a Compose project into Coolify. Treat Coolify as the proxy and domain-management layer unless you have independently verified a newer Sentry template or importer integration.

Requirements before you start
Server capacity
Sentry’s self-hosted documentation lists a minimum of 4 CPU cores, 16 GB of RAM, 16 GB of swap, and 20 GB of free disk space. Those figures are published minimums, not a guarantee that every workload will feel comfortable. The requirements are documented at Sentry’s self-hosted documentation; check that page again for the release you are installing because Sentry changes its service set and resource profile over time.
A separate Coolify-focused test gives a useful warning about the gap between a minimum and a practical configuration. With Sentry release 26.7.2, Coolify 4.1.2, Ubuntu 24.04, 4 vCPUs, and 16 GB of RAM, the installation started 65 containers and used about 12 GB of RAM plus 6.5 GB of swap while idle. That leaves little room for traffic spikes, operating-system processes, builds, monitoring, or another application on the same server. One recommendation from that report is 32 GB of RAM for more comfortable operation; regard that as a sizing recommendation rather than an official Sentry requirement.

Operating system and container tooling
Use a Debian- or Ubuntu-based server when possible. Search summaries of the official guidance identify Docker 19.03.6 and Docker Compose 2.32.2 as the expected tooling versions. Older tutorials that require Compose 1.28 describe an obsolete setup and should not be used as your compatibility baseline. RHEL-family distributions such as CentOS, Rocky, and Alma are reported to have installation issues; choose Ubuntu or Debian unless you have a tested reason to use another family.
- A dedicated or mostly dedicated host is preferable because the stack can run dozens of containers.
- Ensure the account running the installation can invoke Docker and Docker Compose.
- Have a DNS name ready and be able to create or change its A or AAAA record.
- Open the ports required by your normal HTTPS entry point and keep internal Sentry services private.
- Arrange backups for Sentry’s database and uploaded data before accepting important events.
Why importing Sentry’s Compose file into Coolify fails
The official self-hosted Compose definition is unusually large. A Coolify-focused write-up counted 839 lines and 64 services, and reported that Coolify’s Compose parser rejected YAML anchors used by the file. The same report noted that Coolify’s catalog contained 339 templates but no Sentry template. These are reports from one third-party source rather than a statement from Coolify or Sentry, so behavior can change with new releases; nevertheless, they explain why a direct paste commonly fails.
Do not “fix” the file by deleting services until it imports. Sentry services have dependencies and startup assumptions that the installer expects. Removing a worker, queue, relay, or database component can produce a deployment that appears online but drops events or fails migrations. If a future Coolify release adds a verified Sentry integration, follow that integration’s documentation instead of modifying the official stack manually.
Install Sentry on the host
1. Prepare the server
Provision the CPU, memory, swap, and disk described above. Install a supported Docker Engine and Docker Compose version, then update the operating system. Confirm that Docker can start at boot and that the host has reliable outbound HTTPS access so it can download the installer and images.

Keep the Sentry directory on persistent storage. Do not place it in a temporary build directory managed by Coolify; the installer writes configuration and the Compose project needs to remain available for restarts and upgrades.
2. Obtain a released Sentry version
Clone the getsentry/self-hosted project from its official repository and check out the latest release tag that you have chosen to operate. Pinning a release tag is safer than tracking an unreviewed development branch because the service list, migrations, and configuration can change between releases. The official self-hosted documentation shows how to resolve the current tag; verify that command against the release date you are using.
Record the tag in your deployment notes. When you later upgrade, you should be able to identify exactly which Sentry release produced the running containers and configuration.
3. Run the installer
From the self-hosted project directory, run:
./install.shThe script pulls the required images, creates or updates the database schema, writes configuration files, and prompts you to create an administrator account. Community installation reports commonly describe this first run as taking roughly five to ten minutes, but image size, disk speed, and network throughput can make it longer. Watch the output for an explicit error instead of interrupting the process because it appears slow.
Use a strong administrator password and store it in your password manager. The installer’s generated files contain operational settings and should be protected with normal server permissions; do not commit them to a public repository.
4. Start the complete stack
After the installer finishes, start the services from the same directory:

docker compose up -dIf your installed Compose version supports it and the project documentation recommends it, you can use the wait behavior provided by that version. The important point is to start the complete project generated by Sentry, not a hand-selected subset of containers.
Check container status and logs with Docker Compose before involving Coolify. A proxy cannot repair a Sentry service that is still migrating its database, restarting, or failing to connect to its queue. Wait until the web service is listening on port 9000 and the worker and database services have reached a stable state.

1. Create DNS for the public hostname
Choose a dedicated hostname such as sentry.example.com and point it to the server that runs Sentry and Coolify. Use the DNS provider’s normal A or AAAA record workflow. If you are testing before DNS propagates, use a temporary local resolution method only for testing; production users and Sentry integrations need a publicly resolvable hostname.
2. Create a proxied service in Coolify
In Coolify, create a service or application entry whose purpose is reverse proxying to an existing process rather than deploying Sentry’s Compose file. The exact labels vary by Coolify version, but the required values are consistent:
- Domain: your Sentry hostname.
- Destination host: the server-local address where the Sentry web container is reachable.
- Destination port:
9000, Sentry’s default web port. - Protocol: use the protocol exposed by the Sentry web service; do not add an extra TLS layer unless your Sentry configuration requires it.
- HTTPS: enable Coolify’s certificate issuance and redirect HTTP to HTTPS after the certificate is valid.
Keep the Sentry Compose services bound to the host or Docker network as intended by the official project. Exposing every internal port publicly increases attack surface and can bypass the proxy’s access controls.
3. Confirm the proxy path
Open the HTTPS hostname in a browser and confirm that the Sentry login page loads. Then inspect the proxy and container logs while loading the page. A connection-refused error generally means the web container is not listening, the proxy points at the wrong address, or the host firewall blocks the route. A gateway timeout usually indicates that the stack is still starting or that Coolify cannot reach the Docker-published port.

4. Add the public origin to Sentry’s trusted settings
A reported reverse-proxy installation required adding the public domain to the CSRF trusted origins in sentry.conf.py. Without that adjustment, the page may load but login or other browser actions can fail with a cross-site request error. The exact setting syntax and file location can change between Sentry releases, so use the configuration comments and the current self-hosted documentation for your checked-out tag. Restart the affected Sentry services after changing configuration and test a fresh private-browser session.
This CSRF adjustment is reported for a particular proxy setup, not guaranteed for every Coolify topology. If your deployment already defines the origin through an environment variable or newer configuration mechanism, use that mechanism instead of adding duplicate settings.
Validate the installation before sending production traffic
Browser and API checks
- Visit the HTTPS hostname and sign in with the administrator account created by the installer.
- Create a test project and send a deliberately generated test event from an application that you control.
- Confirm that the event appears in the project and that its timestamp, environment, and release metadata are correct.
- Sign out and sign in again to verify that the trusted-origin configuration survives a new session.
- Check that static assets, source maps, and event details load without mixed-content or proxy errors.
Container and host checks
- Review the Compose status for repeated restarts.
- Inspect worker and queue logs for connection failures or authentication errors.
- Watch memory, swap, CPU, and disk use during the test event and during a normal idle period.
- Verify that Docker volumes containing the database and uploaded data are on persistent storage.
- Confirm that Coolify renews the HTTPS certificate and that HTTP redirects to the secure hostname.
Do not interpret a successful login as proof that ingestion is healthy. Sentry can serve its web interface while workers, queues, or relay components are degraded. The test event and service logs are the minimum functional check.

The 65-container observation matters because container count itself creates overhead: each process consumes memory, and background jobs compete with the web service for CPU and disk I/O. On a 16 GB machine, the reported idle use of approximately 12 GB RAM and 6.5 GB swap leaves a narrow margin. If the host also runs Coolify, a database for another application, monitoring agents, or build jobs, contention will arrive sooner.

Measure your own workload rather than assuming the test profile. Event volume, retention, attachments, symbolication, organization count, and enabled integrations all affect consumption. Increase RAM before CPU when the host is swapping heavily, because sustained swap activity can make the web interface and workers appear intermittently unavailable. Increase disk capacity when event retention or uploaded artifacts grow; the published 20 GB figure is a free-space minimum, not a retention plan.
Separate production Sentry from unrelated applications when possible. If you must share a host, reserve memory for Coolify and the operating system and set alerts for disk exhaustion, swap growth, container restarts, and failed background jobs.

Common failure modes and fixes
Coolify says the Compose file is invalid
This is consistent with the reported YAML-anchor/parser incompatibility. Stop trying to force the official file through the importer. Install the release with Sentry’s host-side script and configure Coolify only as the proxy.
The web page returns a 502 or connection refused
First verify that the Sentry web container is running and listening on port 9000 from the host. Next check that Coolify’s destination address is the address reachable from the proxy and that a host firewall is not blocking it. If the container is repeatedly restarting, read its logs and resolve that application error before changing proxy settings.
The login form loads but submission fails
Check the public hostname and HTTPS scheme, then verify the domain is included in Sentry’s CSRF trusted-origin configuration for your release. Clear old cookies or use a private window after changing the setting. A proxy that rewrites the host or scheme incorrectly can produce the same symptom.
Installation runs out of memory
Compare current usage with the published minimum and the measured 16 GB test. Stop unrelated workloads, allow the installer to finish with adequate swap, or move to a larger server. Do not remove Sentry services to reduce memory without understanding their dependency and data-loss consequences.
Disk fills after the initial setup
Check Docker images, container logs, database growth, event retention, and uploaded artifacts. Expand persistent storage and implement a retention and backup policy. Freeing space by deleting unknown Docker volumes can destroy Sentry data, so identify each volume before removal.
Updates, backups, and security ownership
Because Coolify is not managing the internal Compose project in this arrangement, you own the Sentry upgrade sequence. Read the release notes for the tag you intend to install, back up the database and persistent volumes, stop or update services using the procedure supplied with that release, and monitor migrations and workers after the upgrade. Keep a record of the previous tag so you can diagnose a regression; do not assume that rolling back container images alone reverses a database migration.

Protect the administrator account with a unique password and any multi-factor option supported by your Sentry release. Limit public exposure to the HTTPS proxy, keep databases and queues private, patch the host and Docker Engine, and restrict SSH access. Review Coolify’s certificate and proxy logs as part of routine maintenance, but use Sentry’s own logs and health behavior to judge whether event processing is working.
When this architecture is the right choice
Use the host-side installer plus Coolify proxy when you want Coolify to manage the domain and TLS while retaining Sentry’s supported service definition. It is a reasonable fit for a dedicated Ubuntu or Debian server where you can monitor Docker Compose directly and allocate substantial memory.
Choose another deployment approach if you require Coolify to own every container lifecycle action, cannot provide the published minimum resources, or need a fully managed Sentry service with no responsibility for database, queue, storage, and upgrade operations. The absence of a one-click template is not merely a missing button: Sentry’s multi-service architecture means the operator still has to own those dependencies somewhere.
