To run a remote action on several enrolled devices in Microsoft Intune, open Devices > All devices > Bulk device actions in the Intune admin center. Choose the operating system and action, select eligible devices, review the request, and select Create. The general limit is 100 devices per operation; Windows 365 Cloud PCs have a separate limit and workflow.
Submit a bulk action in the Intune admin center
- Go to Devices > All devices > Bulk device actions.
- On Basics, choose the operating system and the action. Fill in any additional fields the action presents.
- Continue to Devices and select the eligible devices. Intune supports up to 100 devices at a time for general bulk device actions.
- Open Review + create, check the operating system, action, and selected devices, then select Create.
Microsoft describes this workflow and the general 100-device limit in its Intune device-actions documentation. Available actions depend on the selected operating system and device configuration, so selecting an OS first is important.
Check which actions are available for your platform
Microsoft’s supported bulk-action list differs by platform. Examples in its current documentation include:

These are examples of actions listed by Microsoft, not a guarantee that every action is available for every device in a platform category. For ChromeOS, Microsoft says the Chrome Enterprise connector must be configured and devices enrolled through Google Admin Console. See the platform-specific action list before planning a request.

Choose an action based on its effect on data
Sync, restart, and other operational actions
Actions such as Sync or Restart are different from decommissioning actions: they do not have the stated data-removal effects of Retire or Wipe. Confirm the selected action and target list on Review + create before submitting.
Retire
Retire removes company data and settings while leaving personal data on the device. It is intended for removing organizational management data without factory-resetting the device.

Wipe
Wipe restores factory settings and removes all data and settings. Treat it as a destructive action; verify every target before creating a bulk request.

Delete
For MDM devices, Delete immediately hides the device record from the Intune admin center and initiates a Retire. A Completed Delete status means the server-side process completed; it does not confirm that the client device has finished Retire. Do not use that status alone as proof that device-side cleanup is complete.

Retire, Wipe, and Delete take precedence over other pending actions. If a device has multiple pending actions, it performs one of these actions and ignores the others. Microsoft documents these outcomes and precedence rules in its device-action guidance.
Account for daily tenant limits
Bulk Wipe, Retire, and Delete requests count toward tenant-wide daily limits. Microsoft documents the following limits in its Intune device-actions documentation, last updated September 16, 2026:

These totals include individual actions, bulk actions, and Microsoft Graph API requests; they are not additional allowances reserved for bulk operations. The 100-device general operation limit and these daily tenant quotas measure different things.
Track execution, especially for offline devices
Microsoft says, “Actions take effect immediately for online devices, or at next check-in for offline devices.” A submitted request therefore does not mean every target has already received or completed the action. Review action status at Devices > Device actions in the Intune admin center. For Delete on an MDM device, distinguish the server-side Completed status from the device’s completion of Retire. Windows 365 Cloud PCs use a separate bulk limit
For Windows 365 Cloud PCs, Microsoft documents bulk operations for up to 5,000 Cloud PCs. The target group must be a user group, not a device group. Available operations are Cloud PC-specific and vary; Microsoft’s documentation includes actions such as Restore, Reprovision, Resize, and troubleshooting, with some actions marked unsupported in bulk. These conditions and the 5,000 limit apply to Cloud PCs, not ordinary Intune-enrolled devices. Microsoft’s Windows 365 page was last updated July 16, 2026; see Remotely manage Windows 365 devices.
