Foxtel error F26 may mean there is an issue with the recording you’re trying to play. On an iQ5, iQ4, or iQ3 box, first retry it from Home > Library. If it still fails after several attempts or the problem keeps happening, contact Foxtel support.
What Foxtel error F26 means
Foxtel describes F26 as a possible issue with the recording being played: “The F26 error code may mean that there is an issue with the recording you’re attempting to play.” The wording is tentative; the code alone does not identify a definite cause or confirm that the box or its storage has failed. Foxtel’s F26 guidance does not provide a more specific diagnosis.
Which Foxtel boxes use F26?
Foxtel lists F26 in the error-code section for iQ5, iQ4, and iQ3. The codes in that section begin with F followed by four numbers. Foxtel lists iQ2 and iQ1 codes separately, in a format beginning with F followed by three numbers. Check that the code you see is F26 and that you are using the relevant iQ generation. Foxtel’s error-code index separates these device groups.

Retry the recording from Library
- Press Home on the Foxtel remote.
- Scroll across to Library.
- Scroll down to the affected program and press Select to try playing it again.
These are Foxtel’s published first steps for F26. The guidance does not promise that retrying will recover the recording.

When to contact Foxtel support
If you have tried to play the recording multiple times without success, or F26 keeps appearing, Foxtel advises contacting support. The public F26 instructions do not provide another reset sequence or a repair procedure, so ask Foxtel to investigate the specific box and recording rather than assuming a hardware fault.

Do not apply instructions for Foxtel Now box codes to F26. Foxtel lists separate Now-box error families, including PE8000–PE8009 playback errors and PE8003/PE8004 TV-signal errors. Foxtel’s Now-box error page covers those codes, not the iQ-box F26 instructions.

In particular, the Now-box startup guidance says that holding its reset button for more than four seconds initiates a factory reset and deletes settings and installed apps. That is not an F26 remedy; do not use it for this error unless Foxtel specifically directs you to do so. Foxtel Now box startup guidance explains that separate reset behavior.
