To reset a forgotten Yamaha Music ID password, open the Yamaha Sign In or Register screen, choose Reset Password, enter the email address registered to the account, and select Send Password Reset Link. Follow the newest email to create a new password.
If you are already signed in, use My Account → Change Password. Yamaha’s public Music ID documentation reviewed for this guide does not show a one-click control for signing out every other device. After changing the password, log out locally, close the browser, and contact Yamaha Music ID support for your region if another session may still be active.
Choose the right Yamaha account path
Yamaha Music ID has two different password workflows. Use the recovery workflow when you cannot sign in; use the account settings workflow when you know the current password and are already signed in.

Reset a forgotten Yamaha password
These steps apply when you are signed out or your current password is not accepted.

- Open the Yamaha Music ID sign-in page for your account’s region. Yamaha Music ID is region-specific, so use the country or regional Yamaha site where the account was created. The labels and support route can vary by region.
- Open the Sign In or Register screen. Do not try to create a second account if you already have a Music ID.
- Select Reset Password. Yamaha’s regional account FAQ describes the action this way: “Click, tap, or otherwise access on ‘Reset Password’ on the Sign In or Register screen, then input your email address and access ‘Send Password Reset Link.’”
- Enter the account’s registered email address. This must be the address used when the Yamaha Music ID account was created, not necessarily a newer contact address you use elsewhere.
- Select Send Password Reset Link. Wait for the message to arrive before submitting repeated requests.
- Open the newest reset email and use its link. If you requested more than one message, use the most recent email so an older link does not take you through an outdated or invalid flow.
- Create and save the new password. Complete every field shown on Yamaha’s reset page. If you use a password manager, update the saved entry only after the new password is accepted.
- Sign in again on devices you control. Test the new password at the Yamaha Music ID sign-in page before troubleshooting connected Yamaha services.
What the reset link does not establish
A successful reset proves that you changed the account credential. Yamaha’s reviewed public guidance does not say that the reset automatically invalidates every existing browser, app, or device session. Treat password recovery and session revocation as separate tasks.
Change a known password while signed in
If you can access the account, changing the password from the account area is more direct than starting a recovery email.

- Sign in to Yamaha Music ID using the regional portal associated with the account.
- Open My Account.
- Select Change Password.
- Enter the information requested on the password-change form and save the change.
- Sign out through the ordinary account control, then sign in again with the new password to verify it.
Yamaha’s account guidance also identifies My Details and Email Address as account-editing areas. Those areas are for profile or email changes; they are not substitutes for Change Password. If you no longer have access to the registered email address, use Yamaha’s regional support route rather than changing the address merely to bypass recovery.

How to sign out of Yamaha on another device
Yamaha’s reviewed Music ID documentation does not publish a global control labeled “sign out all,” “log out all devices,” or equivalent. It also does not promise that changing a password revokes every existing session. Therefore, do not tell yourself that a password change alone has definitely removed access from a shared computer, old phone, or browser you no longer control.

If you still have the device
- Open the Yamaha service or Music ID page on that device.
- Use the service’s normal Log out or Sign out command.
- Close the browser window after logging out. Yamaha’s privacy policy advises users to “log out of your account and close your browser window.”
- If the device is shared, remove any saved password or autofill entry for the Yamaha account.
If you do not have the device
Change the password first if you suspect someone else can use the account. Then contact Yamaha Music ID support for the account’s country or region and ask whether they can revoke remaining sessions for that particular account and participating service. The public documentation reviewed here does not establish that support can always perform that action, so ask for the option rather than assuming it is available.
If a connected Yamaha service behaves differently
Music ID is a common identity used by participating Yamaha Music Connect services. A service may maintain its own sign-in state or display different account controls. If one Yamaha service still appears signed in after you changed the Music ID password, record the service name, region, device type, and approximate time of the change when you contact support.

When the Yamaha password-reset email does not arrive
Work through these checks in order. They address the most common causes without creating a second account or repeatedly invalidating links.
- Confirm the email address. Re-enter the exact address used when the Yamaha Music ID account was created. Check spelling, punctuation, and the domain.
- Search every mail folder. Look in Spam, Junk, Promotions, quarantine, and any folder where automated account messages are filtered.
- Check blocked senders and domain rules. A personal rule, company mail gateway, or blocked-domain list can prevent delivery even when the address is correct.
- Wait briefly, then request one new link. Use the newest message if several arrive. Avoid opening an older reset message after requesting another one.
- Open the link in the same browser session when possible. If the link opens incorrectly, copy it from the email into the browser rather than altering the address.
- Try the regional Yamaha portal again. An account created in one country may not be recognized by a different regional site.
- Contact Yamaha support if access still fails. Yamaha’s US account FAQ advises trying password reset first and contacting Yamaha when sign-in remains difficult.
When the email address itself is no longer available
Password recovery depends on the registered email address receiving the reset message. If that mailbox has been closed, is inaccessible, or belongs to an organization that no longer provides it, explain that situation to Yamaha Music ID support. Do not assume that a new email address can receive a reset link until Yamaha verifies the account and tells you how to update it.

Regional differences matter
Yamaha Music ID is not one universally identical portal. It is a region-specific account service used as a common ID for participating Yamaha Music Connect services. The page labels, account settings, linked services, and support contacts can differ according to the country or region where the account was created.
- Use the Yamaha site for the account’s creation region, not simply the country where you are currently traveling.
- Keep the regional account page open when requesting a reset so the email and sign-in flow remain consistent.
- Use the support link shown on that regional Yamaha site if recovery fails.
- Describe the exact service involved, because a Music ID may be shared across participating services while each service presents its own interface.

What to tell Yamaha support
Providing precise information helps support identify the correct account path without exposing your password. Include:
- The country or region where the Yamaha Music ID was created.
- The email address used for the account, without sending the password or a reset token.
- The Yamaha service or Music Connect service involved.
- Whether you are signed in anywhere, locked out everywhere, or concerned about a specific old device.
- The steps already attempted, including whether a reset email arrived and whether the newest link was used.
- The device and browser or app in which the problem occurs.
Never send your password, complete reset URL, or an email attachment containing account credentials to support or to anyone claiming to help.

Use this order when you believe an old device may still have access:
- Open the correct regional Yamaha Music ID sign-in page.
- Reset the password through Reset Password, or use My Account → Change Password if you are already signed in.
- Verify that the new password works by signing in again.
- Use the normal logout control on every device and browser you can access.
- Close each browser window, as Yamaha’s privacy guidance recommends.
- Contact regional Yamaha Music ID support and ask whether any remaining sessions can be revoked.
- After support responds, test the services you use and record which devices still require a fresh sign-in.
